Hi all. I'm fairly new to this forum but love it. I've been a CD most of my life and have come to accept that as being me. I haven't worn men's underwear for a few years now; in fact, I only own a few pairs of men's nylon bikinis. Anyway, my thoughts go to the fact that I work in a very conservative environment as an executive. My outer attire is always men's business casual or coat and tie. But, my underwear is extremely feminine and, at times, I wear shoes with no socks to cover up my hose. I also love to tease myself with shirts that are somewhat transparent and if one looks hard enough, the outline of a sexy cami or man's bra is apparent.

I'm curious how others dress for work in the outside world. I personally hate the fact that we men don't have the same choices as women when it comes to dressing. My dream/fantasy is someday having the freedom to wear a skirt, frilly transparent blouse that shows my lacy cami under, silky sheer hose and my 3" high heels to work and be perfectly accepted. I also love to paint my finger ails and toes but sadly never wear them out (the fingernails at least).

Look forward to replies.

Something I used to do was wear silk (real) shirts. Only 1 person ever asked about it and I told them the truth.... it was real Thai silk. The response... ohhhh wow!

You might want to get in contact with Julia Cross who dresses pretty much as a "metrosexual". She probably could give you some ideas about acceptability in a conservative executive environment.

I worked in a state prison. Nobody knew that I was wearing panties under the uniform or that my toenails were bright red.

A man's bra?..what's one of those? Stick to girly bras if I was you :cheeky:

Anyway, Lee welcome to the forum. I wear quite unisex looking clothes to work but they are in fact all women's. Buttons on the other side of my shirts, cut of my pants, colors of my sweaters etc. No one has said anything....my point is you can get away with quite a lot. We've spoke about this in numerous threads before, you could do a search to find them if you like. However, alas..I don't think anyone has gone to work dressed as you describe in guy mode ;)

Isn't that a 'bro' or a 'mansier'? :cheeky:

Welcome Lee!

I have worn things to work before. I mean everything from nylons to bras with matching panties etc. But now I don't do that anymore. There is to much a chance of being outed for it. Next month I retire from work, am looking forward to it.

I do like wearing womens business atire. I wore one of Lane Bryants fasions to our TriEss business meeting last month.

And one of these days, when you have pantyhose on with no socks, and a rather transparent shirt that can reveal your camisole underneath, you're going to get busted while at work, and suddenly find yourself the talk of the whole office. Others will whisper about you, and ridicule you behind your back. Work that was entrusted to you will suddenly be someone else's responsibility. Promotions will become rare, or non-existent. The company will find ways to make you less comfortable while at work, and eventually, you will find yourself parting ways with your company....all because you couldn't exercise a little self-control...all because you felt you had to push the envelope, that you were just a little smarter than the others, that you had something over on them.

Sorry, I think you're being foolish.

I somewhat disagree with TGMarla Here (Though I usually do agree with her), and I am supportive of this "pushing the envolope" you may be doing. I am a bit confused about a "man's bra" though...Anyway, you may want to steer more towards a unisex approach, that can be explained. I do not see the ramifications as stated unless you are married and your company has a problem with homosexuals--as that is what they would naturally group you into. Not that you want to be thought of that way (or maybe so), but the closed-mindedness of most groupthink is such that complex thought that someone can push the wardrobe boundaries, yet still be hetero, is seldom if ever realized.
Are you taking risks (which I think TGMarla meant)...? Yes. Can you have consequences to your actions that you may not like---absolutely. But, if you do good work, you can rely on that to keep you in good advancement. On the other hand, you may wish to have a good explanation of the choices you made if confronted. The way you aproach THAT will determine the response you get from your co-workers. Good luck!

I work in an office, but I would never be able to get away with it in the first place, so I wouldn't try. I would love to wear a nice skirt suit or dress to work because I adore women's business attire! :)

As far as how my CDing works, I prefer to dress from the skin out en femme, and I don't go part-way... so I never wear women's underwear under my male clothes. Probably my mother's training coming in there -- she was very supportive of my CDing from the time I was in 7th grade, but she expected that when I dressed, I not only act like a "proper young lady" but that I dress like one, too. Thus, I would dress from the skin out like a teenage girl would in the early-mid '80s. If I could not dress completely, then I could not dress that day (like if there was something else going on and I didn't have enough time to change, do makeup, then change back). My mother wanted to keep a firm boundary between my male and female sides, so she never allowed me to mix the two -- so obviously, no lingerie or hosiery underneath my regular boy clothes. When I dressed en femme, however, I was expected to look and act very femme, so I would usually wear dresses or skirt outfits with proper lingerie, pantyhose and heels, plus makeup, wig (or my own hair, once it grew out to shoulder-length), jewelry and sometimes nail polish, depending on what we were doing or wear we were going.

I should say that my mother never forced me to dress, it was based on my own desires to dress and probably partly on my mother's desires to have a daughter. I was an only child, she was divorced and had two miscarriages after I was born, and thus she missed having a desire. Though I was her son most of the time, she allowed me a lot of latitude to dress en femme, mostly around the house, but we started branching out to get me out of the house en femme when I was in ninth grade. So I was able to experience a lot of femininity through my teens and into college...

I now wear panties 24/7 except when going to the doctors Depending on the weather and what I am doing, I very often wear a bra, pantyhose and a camisole. I very often wear ladies jeans as they fit me better than mens, and when going out will wear femme slacks and sweaters that are uni-sex in appearnce.
When I go shopping, I now go fully femme I find it is so much easier to take my time to look around in the ladies wear stores, especially when other customers are there, and also, if I am trying on clothes, it makes me feel more at ease to be dressed as the ladies are.
Just to-day I went shopping for the afternoon, fully femme, and it was finally warm enought to be able to wear a skirt. It felt so nice to be treated like a lady. One store I was in there were 2 of us looking at the sales rack, the sales girl in the store came over and asked how are you girls making out.

I agree with Marla. If you wish to be outed at work and deal with the consequences, then feel free to push the envelop. Just remember--once the box is open and the contents are spilled, it is impossible to put everything back as it was.

Only you know what is important in your life. As Marla said, your job and career could disappear in a moment of indescretion.

All:
I thank you for the advice...pro and con. I hear what you all are saying about pushing the envelope and the consequences of getting caught. But, like most of us, I can't help myself. I own very few articles of men's underwear now. I wear panties, hose and camisoles every day so that won't change. I will say that I have been to the doctor's and been examined while wearing pantyhose. When questioned, I tell the truth - that I wear pantyhose made for men (WoMan, Comfilon, Legs4men) although I do prefer women's brands. And for all of those who have never seen a bra for men, check out Xdress.com or Suddenly Fem. They make wonderful lingerie all sized and made for men.

I wear my standard bussiness lingerie under my business suit, bra, thong, garter and thigh high stockings, almost every day.
