A few months ago a post from The Hidden Me (THM) prompted me to reach out to him in a PM and we struck up an online friendship. THM lives in St Louis and me in the Chicago suburbs so meeting F2F isn't easy. Well, he came to Chicago for the weekend Cubs vs Cardinals series and I suggested we meet for a bite to eat. THM arrived yesterday afternoon and we met at a restaurant in drab near his hotel. It's the first time ever for me meeting another CD and it was so nice to talk to someone about our shared hobby, ok maybe it's a bit more than a hobby for both of us. We talked about that, our wives, our histories, my new discovery that I have gender dysphoria, and life in general. We went to his room (NO its not what you're thinking!) and THM showed me the outfits he brought along for his adventures last night and today. I had to head home to the family shortly after and THM was ready to get pretty for the evening. I'm sure there will be a post in the picture forum forthcoming. It was great to meet someone in person and speak openly about dressing and continue to develop our friendship. I would have loved to go out dressed with THM but it wasn't to be this time. This is the first friendship I've made with a fellow CD and hopefully will make more as time goes by!

Hell-o Salina,
What a shame that you weren't able to meet
with THM while dressed:(
I'd have to take my heels off to count the
number of cd.com members I've met.
(Seriously! Math in my head hurts after work)
Not a bad apple in the bunch!
Keep in touch with THM. You'll never really know
if and when a future meeting may arise?
Much Love,
Kristyn

Sisters, when a CD meeting is done, you've made a long time friend, and if you are new to going out, that friend can help you greatly in getting over your concern. Such a sister friend has been a blessing to me. I'd never had found her had she not given her general location in her profile.

Really?, like who? We want details!

Salina, that's great. One of the best results of joining this forum. And I doubt most of us here made any assumptions about dropping in at the hotel. It's pretty common, and in MY personal experience, just as benign as meeting at the restaurant.

Amen, Dana. I am lucky and have made some wonderful friends right here in town, but even I had to travel it would be worth it. If fact, some new friends will be made just a week from tonight here

I concur. Meeting others of the same "hobby" is just so wonderful. Being able to chat to someone who understands, who offers no judgement, is just so life affirming.

Hi, Kristyn. Yes I have met Kristyn and a few others. They are all good people.

It's nice to have friends with something in common. It's why I attend a support group.

Salina,
I don't have a single regret, keep doing it and find more like minded friends.
