Well it was bound to happen, my brother(10 yrs. younger)called and asked if he could come over for a visit this Saturday. We haven't seen each other for years now and we only live about 2 miles apart, funny how we never run into each other while I am out in town going about business. He is a drinker to put it mildly, he 's coming after his shift at work so I doubt he will be under the influence but I am going to tell him about my CDing as if by the looks of my house with femme shoes and things all about and my make-up in it's drawer in the bathroom he can't ignore all the signs. Anyway I'll be dressed andro to try and soften the blow but it is my house and I can handle the ridicule and the possible rejection. After all he knows me only as this "manly" person, furthest from femme as you can be, I was really good at putting up a false front and playing the part, I mean I was his confidante and go to guy as he grew up, I had his back. I'm hoping he is mature enough to at least listen with an open mind, but I feel he needs to know, strangers are one thing but family, DADT on my older family members so I know he doesn't know. No one but a very few know we are "step", as he was only 3 when the families merged and have different last names. I guess I'll play it by ear as we go. And on a lighter note, there I was playing on the laptop when a knock on the door drew me away, dressed in slim jeans, loose scoop neck top, wedge sandals with red toes showing, darker pink nails, 1 1/2" hoop earrings and slightly natural looking make-up with hair hanging down slightly wavy. It was the inspector from the health department to check my new water well so out the door to show him around in broad daylight, standing in the street next to his vehicle with amber light flashing waiting for some paper work. I think the neighbors are getting used to seeing me now. Just thought I'd share.

Good luck Allisa. Go slow and as you said, play it by ear. You are so naturally you now that hopefully he will get that vibe and try to understand. Probably best to not get into too many details, more like this is me, this is why more or less and how happy and comfortable you are with yourself, which is really the most important. I am far down that path and only have one close neighbor and some good old friends that I have not told yet. That will eventually happen as I have some reason to communicate or get together with them in the future.

I hope the best for you Allisa. It might be a big shock to him. But he may be acceptable to his big brother.

I wish you luck Allisa, one never knows how a relative will react to something like dressing. I just don't chance it so will probably take it to the grave with me.... If your in the street I bet the neighbors are already accepting... Unless they move out soon... Lol

I hope it goes ok with your brother. You never know how he will take it, though. If he is not happy about it, you will have to accept his response. I would not want my older brothers to find out about my dressing. I wonder if they wonder about me. I think they do think i am strange, and maybe gay, or bi. They still think they have rank over me.

I think you have a full handle on things and are going about it the right way. You may be suprised with the results.
