View Full Version : Hardest Item to Take Off
Nikki A.

Since most of us have to eventually go back to drab at some point. What is the hardest thing to take off that signals to you that your femme time is over.
I'll start this off. As for me, it is taking off the polish off my fingernails, a close second would be my bra, but at least I could always wear it under a shirt and no one would be the wiser.

I agree with you! I love nail polish and wish I could keep it on. You could try clear nail polish and if anyone notices it you can say it's because you have problems with your nails so you put a hardener on them.

I agree that nail polish is hard to take off. My toes are always painted. My Yoga teachers have seen them. But for me going back to male mode is the hardest and taking off the gal clothes before doing that I stay up very late because I don't really like going back to male. My SO has asked me to dress male when I take her to the VA. LOL I used to go there fem. But we have to do what we have to do.

I love the feel of soft, silky pantyhose&hate to take them off, along with my skirt&silky blouse&heels

I wear fingernail and toenails polished 24/7! The bra and forms is the worst for me as it signals the end of femme time as it is the last items that come off! Hugs Lana Mae

Hi Nikki :hugs:, I suppose it would be make-up, I can get out of everything else in a couple minutes ,
But the make-up takes 10to15 minutes or more sometimes,
when I do make-up I always make sure that I have make-up remover pads first. >Orchid...:daydreaming:...

removing my forms and bra is the saddest part of my day.

The physically hardest for me is taking a sports bra off after a hard workout. My arms are always hurting due to bad discs in my neck. Couple that with a hard upper body workout, and the bra wet with sweat, and some days it's a challenge to take it off. My wife knows, but would not be happy having to help me remove my sports bra.
Emotionally hardest is taking off my toenail polish. It's normally just for a few days at a time...weekends at our cabin with the kids and grandkids, or doctor visits, etc.

I do wear clear polish in drab mode, but when I go out as Nikki I want colored polished nails.
A wig and make-up completes the look of femininity for sure and it's tough looking in the mirror when they have to come off also. I'd love to ditch the wig and use my own hair but I can't come up with a convincing hairdo although I have tried.

I never go back to 100% guy mode so there is always something feminine on me as far as clothes go.
My mind is never totally guy either so having to go back to all guy must be horrible.

Nikki,
I can't decide which item is the hardest, to soften the blow I never wash off the perfume or the deodorant so there's always something lingering behind.
I went out on Saturday with my wife to an afternoon function in drab I kept thinking someone smells nice and realised it was me.

Hands down it is glitter from clothing. It sticks to every part of me. I can pick, pluck, wipe and wash. Yet still I look like a vampire from Twilight.

When I finish my time I fully undress so I am in just my wig and make up, once the wig comes off that is it even though the make up is still there.

I wear clear hardner a lot and tell people that notice I have soft nails, and need the hardner. But for me its the bra and forms, I sleep in them and a night gown and panties every night. So its hard to remove them in the morning as they start to feel a part of me, all warm and soft.

My forms and my wig. The wig is the last thing I put on, and my forms are the very last thing I take off.

My wig and my makeup are hardest items to take off. Once the wig comes off Mike is on his way back. Funny thing is I used to need the wig and makeup to see a woman looking back at me but now I no longer need the makeup to see a woman in the mirror. Still need the wig thaw and I'm not going out without the makeup.

I agree with Jodie Lynn, the wig and breast forms are the hardest to give up. I can always wear my bra, panties and hose under my male drabs.

For me it may be losing my tuck and hip padding along with my bra and forms. But I think losing the flat front is the strongest signal I'm back in drab.

I have to say it is the thigh high stockings and the panties. On occasion I will just decide to leave those on under my jeans. When I do get the chance to fully dress with make up and all, it's hard to take off any of it. This time of the year is the best since it's cool enough to fully dress, but not so cold that you freeze when you step outside. Headed to Vegas for News Year and am super excited for a few days of dressing. Sometimes I think that I am getting to old for this and then I get dressed and I feel 20 Years younger. Oh Boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Physically, for me it is removing glue on nails and getting my regular nails filed back into shape. That is followed closely by getting rid of all traces of glitter which seems to stay around for days no matter how many showers I take.

It's nail polish for me, too. I love the look of my nails with color, and don't feel feminine without it. And there's a physical finality to it -- anything else, I could slip back on relatively quickly if I changed my mind, but nails take time to paint and even longer to dry, and I'm definitely committed to going drab once I decide to take the polish off.

Definitely my girdle. Once the feel of it is gone I know I'm no longer in my favourite clothes.
Back when I thought I was CD and went by the name Jennie I did a series of experiments I called "where does Jennie go?" My extremely scientific finding was that for me it was the wig. If I took off the makeup first, I was a woman without makeup (and bad skin,) if I took off the forms first I was a flat-chested woman, when the wig came off, no matter what else I had on, I was a man. And a little heartbroken. I developed a ritual of taking everything except the wig off in front of the mirror then wishing myself goodbye and walking away from the mirror to remove my wig. It was better if I didn't see it happen. ;)
Edit: Sorry if I wasn't clear. I no longer consider myself CD and I no longer go by Jennie. I present female full-time and always see the right person in the mirror now. I was talking about how it used to be.

Pat, as sad as that is, I like the way you handle it. Saying goodbye to yourself, and then turning away so you don't have to watch the last little bit fade away.

For me, it is shapewear. Since it hug and is sort of tight, it is a struggle to get them off. When I start undressing and get down to the shapewear, that is when I know Wendy time is almost over.

I guess for me it's when I have to take off my pantyhose and heels. Then my polished toes are cleaned. I know it's back to Stacy and I'm in full on guy mode until that night and I can get back to being V again for a few short hours. I'm glad it's getting cooler out and I can wear hose under my jeans daily.

Yep. this. My natural nails are not cute so I need press ons or acrylics and despite the amount of time either requires, it's always worth it. But then taking them off and filing down my natural nails definitely signals it's the end of girl time

From the psychological viewpoint the hardest part is taking off a full slip. After the dress comes off there is still the image in the full length mirror of moi in the slip, heels, hosiery and wig. I suppose it's the most difficult because full slips was the first women's garment I wore as a young boy.

So for me it is my makeup...only because I take a lot of time and care to get it right and it is a big part of the outward presentation. Second would be the bra and forms...but I don't get upset about going back and forth...it is what it is...dressing for the job you want...sometimes it's a boy and sometimes it's a girl.

First the dress comes off. Still feeling good at that point - might just hang around like that for a while. Once ready for the serious business it's usually in this order: wig, jewelry, shoes, makeup and bra. The final step is hose and hip pads. Once that magical foam hits the floor, I let out a sigh, cuz it's really over at that point ....
On a similar note, the first thing I put on is the hip pads - I love being able to glance down at those curves while putting on my makeup ....

Thanks for asking Jen. Yes, homemade. Got the green foam at JoAnn's Fabric and cut them with the same electric knife I use to carve my Thanksgiving turkey. There's several YouTube videos that will show you how to do it. If you're having trouble finding one, pm me and I'll send you a link.

I'll start this off. As for me, it is taking off the polish off my fingernails, a close second would be my bra, but at least I could always wear it under a shirt and no one would be the wiser.
My transformation from femme to male mode is a slow process. I'll start with the skirt/dress, slip, pantyhose, bra and then my girdle. I'll walk over to the mirror and stare at myself with each article of clothing removed-very time consuming and sad that my fun time is over. The hardest part of my dressing is packing up my things, put them back in my hiding spot and then doing a complete sweep of the room that nothing was left out :(

It has to be the wig, it's the proverbial icing on the cake and it's removal signifies the start of the transformation back to male mode, that said I do hate removing my tights and hip pads as I do like my female form.

physically the hardest thing to takeoff is the eye liner. It sure can't be done on the fly or in a quick change situation.
Emotionally, It's the pantyhose, I love the sensation of the smoothness and wiggling my toes in them and thats when it is completely done even though I do tend to wear them in drab also.

Difficult question, as for me I don't ever feel I'm ever 100%,,, well I have a hard time even saying the word anymore... I think my hair is the keystone to this operation. Take off forms, I'm a flat chested woman, take off makeup, just a somewhat less attractive woman, but when the hair comes off, even if I leave forms and makeup, I feel hideous. Sometimes I wear a bandana and make like a Harly chick, but it isn't the same.

It is A sad moment when i start to undress, but the hardest part is that long lines spanx body shaper that i love to wear. It isn't last but ir is the most important part of the ensemble. It is tight and feels so electric on me that taking if off is hard indeed. I still have panties and hose, but once the girdle is off the thrill in over til the next time. I have several shapers but the long lines one feels the most exciting. :daydreaming:

For me, it would be the polish, followed by bra as a second.
I only wear panties anymore, and my nails are kept painted most of the time. My toes are always painted, and keep the fingers painted except for when I have client meetings, or my wife is struggling with it.
For the bras, I have unlined lace racer back bralettes that I can wear most of the time, except for with certain tee shirts. Now that winter is on its way, I get to wearing sweatshirts again, which means no worries about having the bras on.

It would have to be nail polish (as I don't use make up). Simple, really; clothing can be whisked off in an instant, and I often enough change back to drab to go out to eat, or just answer the door for a delivery. So it's easy enough to change back. But taking off nail polish that I just spent hours putting on? Removing that is a feeling to me that I'm going to be in drab for a while. It's the ultimate 'going back to being a boy' for a while feeling, and it's a bit depressing.

I have the same problems Paula and i agree, when you do your nails, using a clear coat as the base coat, it makes it so much easier to come off, no polish left in the cracks and no staining of the nail. this is a MUST, unless of coarse you never take it off lol

A lot of interesting replies.
The funny thing with me though, is that I don't feel dressed without my wig on (although my stylist has shown me how to come up with a short fem style, especially when I'm due for a haircut). And yet, I still see the female me when the wig does come off but the makeup is on.

This is a tough one because I dress in so many different levels. Sometimes I'll do just a bra, sometimes I'll do just a wig and then there's the fully monty with pads and makeup. I think when it hits me the hardest is when I've been fully dressed and I wipe the makeup off my face and I look in the mirror and every time I say "there's that ugly guy again."

Since I wear panties and pantyhose in male mode also and I paint my nails with clear coat nail polish, my heels would be the item that says Fun time is over.

For me it is my heels that is when I know that the fun is over and I have to go back to them drab blah looking male shoes. The other reason is that my heels make my calves look good, at least they do to me. I don't know about anyone else, but I have always been able to walk in heels like it was meant to be.

It's the stockings or tights for me.
I have always had long hair, so seldom bother with a wig, anyway.

For me, it is my wig. It is the first item I take off when heading back to guy mode.
Same here, the wig comes off and there is no more Samantha, just this old guy in makeup and a dress. Really scary is taking the makeup off,
Sheesh was my skin really that bad before I got dressed up ?? LOL

Like many of you who replied earlier, the "point of no return" is the moment I remove my wig !!! It is all down hill from there.

It used to be hard to go back, but now - not at all.
Unlike many of you, I look forward to the switchback in a similar way that I look forward to dressing up. I love the whole myself. Seems natural after considering and rejecting transitioning...

The breast forms , the adhesive is a pain  . High heeled shoes and boots very close 2nd . If I could get past my bad self , would wear heels all the time .

I have started wearing female knickers/boyshorts almost every day now, so i think taking off my tights is the point where i feel less "feminine". I never feel as happy without them on.

wig, make-up and my forms. it symbolizes the dressingtime is over for sure.

For me it's my dress. It would be my bra, except I'm able to wear a bra 99% of the time, including male mode. So my dress is hardest to take off. I really love wearing dresses.

The hardest to take off is mascara and my lip stain never seem to get it all. The hardest from a sad point is my bra and forms. I love having breasts.

For me it's definitely my bra. It feels so feminine when it's on and I look down and see breasts. When it comes off that's when I know I'm done.

Pantyhose...I gave up on it and go with stockings and a garter belt now day..I remember my first dance at school, and my first foray into the girls restroom. I had to pee so bad and I ended up in a wrestling match getting my pantyhose down low enough to pee..that was a close call..and then the struggle to pull them back up and straighten them out in that small stall..With the garter belt I run the straps under the panties, then when I have to go I jsut drop the panties...lol..

The physically hardest thing for me, is getting off the makeup foundation. the mineral oil, soap and water routine I have to repeat a t least a couple of times to get it all off.---On those times when I don't use it, taking off my makeup is a breeze---but does not look as good--especially now that I am older.
My sessions are over when I remove my Lipstick---I find that LS is the most important element for creating my "female persona" and aura. Completely changing my appearance.

I love reaching behind and unhooking my bra, but the sad feeling begins as soon as I slip my bra straps off my shoulder and putting the illusion to rest.

For me it is taking off the wig. Since my male persona has a buzzed head, (I loved Frank Barone on 'Everyone Loves Raymond' but I don't want to look like him.) giving up my pretty blond locks is always the hardest. Second, would have to be my makeup which actually comes off almost to easily and quickly with Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes. I'm usually bummed out for a few hours after.

Unhooking my bra and forms will take away my female emotions, second my dangling earrings .

Put me in the wig column! Being bald and having a shaved head means once the wig comes off, even with all the make up, I see only my male self. From that point on it's just the tedious task of cleaning up and removing all the clothing and undergarments that a few minutes ago made me look and feel feminine. As Stephanie said it can be a bit of a downer after being on such an emotional high.

Close fitting dresses with zips at the back can be a real pain to get off (and on) on a positive note, I have become more flexible over the years.

I agree with Danielle and Stephanie it’s most definitely the wig. Once the wig is removed my male self is very apparent (bald) and my always amazing Deanna time is ending.

Removing my corset takes a bit of patience...must fully loosen up the laces before unhooking. And when you've been wearing a corset for hours, you're a bit impatient to get it off!

For me, it’s my bra. I wear panty girdles everyday and full cut nylon panties to sleep every night, but my bra is my truly favorite feminine connection. I have always had large breast’s for a guy, so the feeling of physical support is devine. I have not been able to get my wife on board with satin nighties yet. I am working myself up to a wig at some point.

I think it depends on the circumstances. Many of us have had to "de-fem" in a hurry to avoid being caught. On more than one occasion, I've hurriedly tried to peel off my pantyhose without sitting down. Generally, a bad idea! When time isn't a factor, removing nail polish is a sad reality that my girl-time is over.

Logistically to take off the hardest is for me anyways my corset and my mascara. Always a little bit stays behind. The hardest emotionally is heels, its the first thing off when I start going into drab mode.

I would have to say it is tights/nylons/pantyhose or hold up stockings and of course panties. On occasion I will just decide to leave them on under my male clothes. Xx

Count me in as another who hates it when it's time to take off my pantyhose. The only good part about it is knowing that it won't be very long before I'll be slipping into a new pair again.

Defiantly my panties and tuck (and very well taped away) - its that ultimate fem feeling of not having anything down there that I just love, with lace panties covering it.
Its the first thing I do when dressing and its the last thing I remove.
Following that is the bra, and the makeup ---- mmmm its just losing that soft girly feeling that's the hardest

For me, it's when the wig comes off. I know it's all over for the night after that, as the makeup has to be removed, and I have to tidy up, and put away all the femme stuff till the next time.
(Having said that, I recently bought a breastplate with a neck, and that is a real pain to get off!.:whew!:)
