I have not posted in forever and it seems a lot has been happening. I’ve finally begun seeing a transgender therapist and told my wife I am transgender. My wife and I are still working on communication more but things are improving. I dress as an everyday girl and my therapist has encouraged me to present as Tiffany for my sessions which I’ve decided to do next week. Super stoked. I feel so much more at peace with myself when presenting as the person I identify with. Wondering what to wear already.

Tiffany, good for you it’s very important to find a good Gender therapist. I find when I go to mine as my real self Rachael I’m more open and honest.
Now of course I’m all but fulltime and in the very beginning of transistion.
I wish you well and be aware whatever direction you go remember your wife is very important in this so be considerate of
her

If you're seeing a gender therapist and you've reached the point where you can see her dressed, why would you not? I'm not a fortune-teller, but I think it will help you immensely. I would probably not pick the nurse outfit for it, though. ;)

Personally, I like the lovely lacy LBD, but the white blouse and black pencil skirt also give a professional 'secretary' look as well. Ah, decisions, decisions ... Ditto on the nurse's uniform, though. :p

I'm glad that your wife is supportive of you, and that your therapist is encouraging you to come as Tiffany. I bet she can't wait to see how beautiful you are.

I have had two therapists that helped me immensely by letting me dress for sessions.
My first one was gay and she used to tell me to wear anything as long as nothing was hanging out. So lingerie, anything was fair game and I loved it! She would leave the room for me to change and then come in when I cracked the door open. One time her client after me thought she could come on in and walked in on me about to take off my dress. Lol
My current one is bi and let’s me dress but nothing to risqué. I change in the bathroom in the break room and walk across the office. I’m still closeted so she kind of escorts me so people won’t see me but the staff knows. It’s great to be Leah in session and she sees the differences of Leah and Leo and helps me to integrate both so I can one day shownmy wife that Leah is part of me just like Leo is.

I think its really valuable to dress for meetings with your therapist...this can yield insights into your motivations that you may not be aware of or able to express

thinking back to my own time in therapy, I was unwilling to do so, and sought to minimize the topic. She never pressed the issue, but I expressed the concern that my gender issues were deeper than I was willing to admit. Of course she was right.

In retrospect I regret not confronting my gender identity forthrightly.

Leah do you mind if I ask what therapist as I have been looking for one in Knoxville

Hi Tiffany, that sounds good for you. I would pick the white blouse outfit, I think that or similar would be best for that kind of meeting. Good luck for you.
