Last Friday I was dressing getting ready to take the train for a day's outing. I tried on a skirt I'd not worn for a good while that fitted me comfortably without a corset on. Now one of the reasons I usually wear a corset is that it helps hold my hip pads in place. I usually wear holdups as it both makes visiting the ladies easier and they grip the bottom of the hip pads. I usually also wear a Lycra smoother to iron out any lines.
Anyway that day I decided that in addition to the usual knickers to help hold the pads in place I'd go for tights. I added an ever so slightly see through blouse, one that just shows the outline of your bra, and apart from accessories that was that. The difference in how this felt compared to my usual corseted outings was so noticeable. Remember the first time you worn a skirt or dress outside and felt the breeze and swish of the skirt on your legs? Well this was like that but at the torso level. I could feel the material of my blouse and as someone who tried to emulate the experiences of GG's this ensemble took me there. I'm struggling to find the words but it felt more real. A truer representation.
Well out for the day one great advantage of this minimalist dressing became apparent. You get far less hot in the shops.
There are some dresses were the shape dictates a corset to give the correct fit but with the blouse being a looser fit the shape underneath was of much less importance. One thing it did make me aware of however was that I'd have looked that little bit better if I had lost a pound or ten.
Anyway I enjoyed the feeling so much a couple of days later I did it again. Different blouse and skirt but it felt just as nice.
