So I've had a lot of significant breakthroughs in the past few weeks which I plan to share with you all at some point. It just requires me to find the time to sit and write it all down!
In the mean-time, I thought I'd share this fun story from last week. Our marketing and accounts teams were having a meal/night out on Wednesday evening and at the last minute realised they had a couple of tickets spare. So me and one of the other software developers got a nice surprise and were invited to tag along.
I found out later that it was supposed to be elf themed, but of course I hadn't had any time to prepare an outfit. That was okay - not everyone was dressed up anyway. I had my christmas jumper and my red ankle boots which are pretty festive so I wasn't doing too bad. We went to someone's house for pre-drinks, and about an hour in one of the girls from marketing showed up with TWO costumes that she'd just bought from ASDA. You can see where this is going...
Anyway, the funny part is that she chose to change into the t-shirt herself, which left the dress and tights for me (it was this one (https://direct.asda.com/george/womens/dresses/elf-christmas-dress/GEM609783,default,pd.html)). My colleagues know about me so I felt comfortable doing it, although I was surprised that I managed to fit into her tights considering she is quite a bit smaller than I am! Don't think it was pre-meditated on her part, but everyone agreed it was perfect when she saw me with no costume and suggested it.
So I got to be an elf after all. The evening was really fun, and I definitely gave all the unsuspecting folks from other companies something to talk about! :heehee:
