Last week the shopping club had their annual holiday luncheon and wine fest. For those that haven’t read some of my posts. I’ve gone shopping with a good size group of women for many years and become part of their rituals. All are ggs except for me, but I was one of the earliest members and out to my fellow shoppers. It was not unusual to shop for clothes next to one of the gals and exchange comments about an item, even on lingerie. We actually went to a lingerie factory to tour it together. I’ve even loaned some, clothes, and a couple of them pettipants for costumes.
This being the holidays with no shopping involved. Everyone wears nicer clothes for the luncheon. Some of the women even wear dresses, but most wear nice pants/slacks and a pretty blouse or sweater. Heels may also appear on some feet.
My problem was what to wear. I tried on several of my dark silk blouses and nothing struck me as a great choice. Some I had worn previously to parties where many of the women were present. I then planned to wear a black cashmere sweater, but I had one before so it didn’t feel like a new outfit to be seen in. Then I switched to my new white one. When I tried it on, while my bra didn’t actually show it did change how the light reflected. I had purchased a blouse a few weeks ago to wear to an event and didn’t get to go. Have you ever put something on and knew that finally you had found exactly the right one? It was just right. It is a winter white blouse of luminous silk, full drop sleeves, a band collar with buttons halfway down the front which I left unbuttoned. I have a silk camisole which lets just enough lace detail through to create interest. Instead of wearing a 38B I wore my true size 36C bra which created a really nice profile. I wore a nice wool pair of pants that had strait wide legs and booties with 3” heels. The heels weren’t comfortable, but all I had to do is walk into the restaurant and out. Well I did go to the bathroom with a couple of the girls too. While I didn’t go full fem, it turned out that I was well matched to the women. Most all of us are over 65 and retired. I’ve let my hair grow for several months and had it styled in a fem/androgynous look. Almost a match to one of the women there. I wore some makeup to smooth my cancer scars. Did my eyes too.
When I got there, I had a sweater on my back with the arms tied together in the front. It was fun exchanging greeting kisses with the women. Several hands checked for my bra band. I checked theirs also. Lol. Everything went fine. Our waiter referred to me as mam when he asked what we would like to drink. One of the women leaned over and said congratulations you are one of us. I do have a soft voice and it was noisy with everyone talking in the room. I got a lot of, WOW love your blouse. Where did you find it? Some of it was that the bra I was wearing made me look like I was a large C cup. Got a few questions if the camisole came with it. When I said no it was one I had they were impressed. Beautiful lingerie you have. If only they knew how much.
I got some encouragement that I should dress more? I only own women’s clothes lol. I know they thought I should wear more feminine clothes. But, they don’t. One mentioned she would like us to go shopping in Boise. Uhhh, I’m married. But Boise has some great shopping.
