hi
I stop at a small independent coffee shop regularly on my way to work. A couple of other regulars and I usually sit at the front table and read and discuss the news and such. This morning, the local high school was on two hour delay due to the cold, and a large group of teens came in as they sometimes do. It was mostly teen girls and they were dressed in a variety of skirts, leggings, boots and despite the cold even some sandals. (I notice these things!)
Among the girls was one young male, with short curly hair in a flattering femme style. He was wearing tight black leggings and a big shirt. His footwear was a pair of booties that could be from the mens, but I bet they were not. He moved like a girl and seemed very comfortable.
I thought it was cool.

Congratulations to the young male. Not being afraid of being who he/she is. I wish the whole world was as accepting.

Happy to see acceptance in the crowd.

A great place for that young guy to be Maija! I know that scenario from the inside & hope he sticks with those same girls as he grows up! Wish I did!
That is cool, and has brought back some great memories!
Happy Stacy!

Maija, what, if anything, did your companions say about it? Did they notice?

Independent coffee shop? Probably a hipster place.
Any place that accepts those weirdo hipsters will surely accept TG.
Well maybe anyways. You know how some people think TG are like this alternate life form? That is how I feel about hipsters. Like "Wow what IS that thing?"

In the West, this is not crossdressing so I doubt anyone would even notice, especially a young man dressed this way. I dress like that 95% of the time that I am presenting as male and yet even at 53 years old no-one notices. I bet your non-crossdressing companions didn't make a gender connection to what they saw either.

yep, girlie boys are now excepted as girls down here, such that when my daughters mob have sleep overs, one GM is also included in the group of girls.

in the '90's there was a musical movement called 'emo'
Urban Dictionary: emo

A terribly misconstrued and misused word. In contemporary culture it is utilized as a broad term to describe a multitude of children and teenagers who straighten their hair, have their hair in their face, perhaps dye it black, and wear tight clothing...

Roller and Tracy said it nicely. Wonder how he is treated by the boys and bullies at school. How would they treat a fellow star football player if he wanted to CD?

Times most certainly are changing. The young are more accepting of this change and they really don't have many hang ups about it. Sadly, this is the way things SHOULD be but aren't and i probably will never really see it in my life time among those my age. A closed mind is such a sad thing and the programming worked perfectly.

Back in the day, this was also considered 'goth', too . .
Kudos to that kid.

He was definitely a hipster lol. Although I don't go out in public with my friends CDing (they aren't really aware that I do it), I have been, however, exploring and playing around with more fun femme styles whilst out with my friends. I definitely can breath better this way.
