So many things in my life seem to happen for a reason, it took me 10 years to settle on a middle name of Alyce pronounced Alice. I was emailing a friend the other day and went to find one of my favourite quotes from the book, only to find so many of the quotes fit so incredibly well. For example:
This could well apply to this amazing site

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Then there is this classic
“Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.”
And this
“Curiouser and curiouser!”
And this
“If everybody minded their own business, the world would go around a great deal faster than it does.”

But this is the one that fits me so well:
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

I think this quote sums me up so well, I really do not know where I am going with Becky, or if I am even going anywhere, but seeing as I don't know I am simply going to follow whichever path comes my way and make sure that i enjoy every step on my journey to anywhere.

Hell-o Becky,
I just watched the Johnny Depp version
about 2 weeks ago...Totally mesmerized!

Then! Today I came across the Tom Petty
music video for “Don't Come Around Here No More”

And NOW, your post! Somethings up???

I’m sure I’ll be rewatching next time I get a chance.
Happy journeys!
Much Love,
Kristyn

"It's no use going back to yesterday because I was a different person then." seems to fit rather well, too.

And the dilemma many of us face is whether to drink the potion or eat the cake -- what change do we want for ourselves?

Of course you might actually read the book. There are two. Alice in Wonderland, and Alice's Adventures Through the Looking Glass. Disney combined parts of both in the movie. Both books are old enough to be out of copyright, so you should be able to find them online.

I tend to associate this site with the companion book, Through the Looking Glass and the famous Humpty Dumpty quote:

"When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less."

Project Gutenberg has tons of out of copyright books including these (and they were one of the first ones done by the project). This is how I read them years ago to my son.

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date. No time to say hello, goodbye, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

Also, for some of us? Beginning to dress is a lot like, "Falling down the rabbit hole"!

I know. This isn't Alice. But, I'm old and get my fairytale women confused!

Becky,

Just to add something to the mix, if you don't know which way to go, follow the yellow brick road. I know, I know, it's a different film/book but hey it seems to fit.

Yes, but remember how it all ends: "You’re nothing but a pack of cards!"

and more Alice quotes that fit so well

“I can’t explain myself, I’m afraid, Sir,” said Alice, “because I am not myself, you see.”

“And the moral of that is—‘Be what you would seem to be’—or, if you’d like it put more simply—‘Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.’”

“Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle.”

“I-I hardly know, sir, just at present – at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.”

How puzzling all these changes are! I’m never sure what I’m going to be, from one minute to another.– Alice

and finally
I’m not strange, weird, off, nor crazy, my reality is just different from yours.
