Hi,

I was just wondering what everyone else's stance is on under dressing? I know a lot of you do it but has anyone been caught because of it?

I always worry some think might slip up and someone notice...

Does anyone else have this concern?

A quote from Homer Simpson. "Its a comfort thing". I love to be comfortable in my clothes. If the public sees me in some girl attire, I really don't care what they think. Daviolin

I don't under-dress, never have (nothing against those who do).
Reason I don't is not for the fear of getting caught, I just don't, not me.

I have, however, thought about under-dressing in a bra, but meh.
If I ever go out under-dressed it would just be that, a bra.
I don't wear panties at all, never have.

I underdress every day. I wear panties24/7. I also wear panty hose, camasole, bras or bralettes every day. Been doing it for more than a few years and haven't been noticed yet that I know of. I am carful of what I wear depending on where I'm going. If I'm going some where I think I'll run into a hugging situation it a no bra day. Of course when I first started underdressing I was very self conscious and just knew that everyone was aware of my girly intimates under my manly clothing. No one noticed. Go for it

There are plenty here that underdress and I am sure a great percentage want to get caught.
I don't worry about "getting caught" because I doub't people really care what kind of underwear you have on so they aren't going to be looking.
Do you go looking at guys underwear and what would you say to another guy if you saw he had on panties?
I hope you see my point.

As a closet CD, that is my biggest fear. I have under dressed (only under winter clothing), to deliver lunches at my kids school. Every move calculate not to flash any of the mothers in the school lobby. What a rush of emotions, fear, excitement and the joy of being out and about while wearing my favourite lingerie.

I think it's the rush I like! But I still get nervous that someone will spot me no matter how careful I am.

Underdressing seems to be the rage by quite a few on this site. Before discovering this site I did on occasion wear a nylon panty to work. I found them rather inconvenient when using the bathroom. The other drawback was the lack of absorbent qualities of nylon when sitting at a desk all day. Cotton is much more absorbent and comfortable. Fast forward a decade or two to my retirement years. I did try on several occasions to fully underdress during the winter months. I usually wear guy jeans and a sweatshirt as outer wear. I choose on several occasions to don a bra, camisole, panty, hosiery (either pantyhose or stockings & garter girdle), and, if wearing stocking with a garter girdle, then I wore a petti panty. So, the only things really missing were a dress and heels. I did not get any sort of rush out of wearing all that stuff. Basically, with the exception of the annoyance of using the bathroom and having to sit down to pee, I felt nothing. Yes, the bra straps and band needed adjusting sometimes, but, there was no feeling of anything. Kind of a bland experience every time. So, it is male clothes all the time. I did not have any fear of exposure. Even in male mode I make sure my clothes are long enough so the crack of my butt is not going to be exposed to the world. Yes, it is always possible I could have ended by in the emergency room with the clothes cut from my body, but, that's life.

On occasion in the past when my neuropathy in my legs was really acting up I have worn women's support pantyhose in lieu of paying outrageous amounts of money for medical grade support hosiery. I have found wearing support pantyhose helpful for the neuropathy, but, again there is no rush or feeling of femininity.

And what will happen if they do spot you what then?
Your fear of being called gay maybe or thought of as a freak or pervert?
Listen to yourself adding to that stereotype and being homophobic shame on you.

Sounds like you want to get caught because if you didn't want to get caught you would not wear them in public would you?

Underdressing for the thrill or fem feeling may be great for some. I tried it when I first began dressing. With my normal foundation wear minus forms. Girdles, tite bras, tucking in sexy undies, and nylons. All VERY exciting. Because everytime u move you're reminded of your hidden gear! However, sexy undies r a joke with a tuck and it was all very uncomfortable!

After a couple of weeks, the thrill of wearing those uncomfortable things no one could see wore off.

I underdress everyday (panties - thongs or bikinis) and bralette. I don't wear stockings or pantyhose everyday because it is usually too hot in Florida to do so. I have done so up North. I don't worry about what people think because usually they don't. I also underdress because it makes me feel pretty and it just feels right.

I do it all the time usually vanity fair nylon briefs, sometimes half slips instead of briefs
sometimes bras. and occasionally pantyhose.

Since I wear panties almost exclusively, just a pair or two of boxers for doctor appointments, I would say it is just that, a 364 day a year activity. There are bras included on a lot of those days when I can get away with it. And more often than not in the Winter. Along with the occasional leotard or bodysuit and leggings. LOVE leggings.

Yea, I under dress all of the time. Always panties, usually camisoles, and pantihose, or tights in the cold winter months. As far as anyone noticing, just watch how you bend over, do it like the girls do. I like the tactile sense of nylon against the skin. It can get hot in the summer if you are wearing long pants, but not a problem in a skirt, or shorts!

i have and still do wear panties sometimes. I have been caught twice that I know of. Once in the 7th grade by a boy who had a thing for boys in panties who became my first boyfriend and more. And second I was asked are you wearing panties to which I said yes and that was that. As someone else said the sexy ones aren't that comfortable and poeple aren't going to see them so why bother.

I under dress 24/7.
Panties, Bra, and fem jeans. The only guy thing I wear is a Polo shirt.
For over 5 years now, no one has noticed.

I wear a bra and panties every day, but I don't think of it as "underdressing", anymore.

I'm wearing my underwear, so it's just dressing, nothing special about it.

Underdressing? I ear a bra and panties every day. I haven't owned male underwear in over 30 years.
I wear a 48 D cup bra because I have breasts due to gynecomastia from meds. A bra is necessary to support my breasts as ND to keep my nipples in check. I wear micro fiber boyshorts because it feels right.
No thrill wearing, it's just natural.
Yes I have been noticed. I never did make an effort to hide what I wear. My bra band is obvious in back but my D cup breasts are extremely obvious.
People are going to notice. So what.

I underdress all the time. Whenever I'm not spending the entire day en femme. I don't have any male underwear, and haven't had any for years. If I "got caught" (never have) and someone made an issue of it, I'd point out that my underwear is my own business and no one else's. Period.

I underdress 24x7. I find panties, tanks & camis far more comfortable and better fitting than that male stuff I used to wear. When I first started I worried about getting caught, now I really don't care as long as violence isn't involved. I even wear yoga pants and leggings in public quite often and just started wearing "women's" jeans and pants.

I have warn panties 24/7 for Over 40 years. If I have been caught no one has said a word. I do think on 2 occasions I might have been caught but again no one has said anything to me directly. I like the feel 100% more then men's underwear.

Sounds like you want to get caught because if you didn't want to get caught you would not wear them in public would you?

It sounds like a lot of us, myself included, underdress because it feels right, not because we want anyone to notice.

I was quite nervous people would notice the first couple times I went out with panties and a bra. I wore a loose shirt with a print to try to hide any outlines, and tended to keep my jacked on over it. Was careful about pulling up my pants and not bending over wrong.

This progressed into full-time dressing female at home and I soon didn't care if anyone saw my undies outside. I was doing it for me, not them. Now I'm starting to wear a lightly padded bra out, girl-jeans, and purple-framed femme glasses and I find I still don't care if anyone notices any of it. Usually. Occasionally I think about it and get a bit nervous, but whatever. I'm sure the occasional person notices but no comments so far. In my case, I'm starting HRT today so people will have to get used to it. If you just underdress for the thrill of it, I can see keeping it more stealth may be wise, also depending on the culture of where you live. I did feel a sexual thrill from it at first, but within a week or so that aspect is rarely there anymore. I still love doing it.

For those who wear girl-jeans, do you wear ones with like flowers or sparkles or girly lines on the back pockets? I don't expect ones with no decoration would be often noticed, but I do wonder if anyone's seen a reaction from ones with decorations. Of course, anyone who reacted would tend to be behind you so it would be hard for you to notice their reaction.

hello,
when I under-dress no body has ever said anything if they noticed. Even the woman who "accidentally" brushed her hand over my back (when I was wearing a bra) just said "sorry"

Being a nurse I wear thin cotton white tapered pull up pants and colored scrub tops. I always under dress and wear Olga briefs that are high cut at the legs. If I bend over a certain way you can easily see that the cut of my panties is diferent than male tightie whities. I have had a few comments over the years about my "nice panties". My comeback is usually, "thank you" or "and they are very comfortable".

I wear panties (hi-cut or thong) every day - dress or casual. It's totally normal for me. I occasionally wear a racer-back style tight tank under my shirt. Same at the gym. The racer back shows through my poly athletic shirts, and it could be confused with a sports bra, but no one has said anything. I never underdress with a bra. I've wore tights and hose too but because they show, to some degree, I don't consider them underdressing. I probably wouldn't underdress if I were in a high-risk work environment, but I'm not.

I underdress every day. It’s usually just panties but occasionally I’ll wear stockings and a garter to work. Nobody seems to notice and if they do, nobody has said anything. I did get caught at a club once when one of my friends asked me if I was wearing a thong. It was pretty embarrassing at first but I just told him that’s what I like wearing and it turned out to not be a big deal. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter what anyone else thinks especially if you’re comfortable with yourself.

Has anyone ever met a man out who knew you were underdressing as sort of a first way to step out in public so that not everyone around you in public knew you were CD?

Taylor186

@Karli:
First, how would they know you were underdressing?
Second, the first thought of most people (women or men) who might see a man in panties is that the panty wearer is gay, not that they are a crossdresser.

Rosie1989,

Personally I enjoy underdressing and shopping for more lingerie that I can wear under my “drab”clothes. Sometimes my bra straps show or my bra peeks out at the top of or through my shirt. No one can see my panties other than they guys in the locker room when I get dressed in the morning. No one has ever said anything in the locker room but I don’t really wear anything floral or pink during the week. I have gotten some nice complements from ladies when they notice my bra on occasion. Though I haven’t heard anything bad from others I have gotten “knowing” looks...

The only place I really worry about someone noticing is at work and there I am very careful, I wear different bras at work and am careful of those that enjoy hugs or putting hands on shoulders.... I have been found out by a few ladies at work and they were very understanding and supportive.

Getting “caught” is a concern, unless I am at work, I haven’t really worried as much.

If by underdressing you mean you wear feminine lingerie rather than male underwear, I don't see what the issue is. Indeed a bra strap or slip lace might show but that is about the sum of it. I would think comfort would be the main decider. I always wear feminine underwear and I don't consider it to be "underdressing", just dressing.

However some members of our community like to dress completely in female clothing before putting on an overlay of male clothing.

That seems way too uncomfortable to me.

All I own are panties, so yes I under dress every day, Have some womans jeans that I sometime wear and nylons when weather is cool enough. Would love to wear bra and forms when out daily, but not ready to cross that bridge. Did wear them once with heavy jacket on, but was to self concerned to do it again. Strange since I have no problem getting fully dressed and made up to go ot to a local bar or spend a week at DLV dressed 7/24.

When in boy mode, I don't feel 'dressed' unless I'm under dressed: thigh highs, panties, and a bra with small boobs boosters. I sometimes wear a male front button shirt one size too large to downplay the boobs, and now also a ditto size T-shirt which does slightly show the chest bumps. Males do have Gyno you know. Several days ago while in a checkout line I thought I noticed a woman looking at my bumps, so I scratched one. I don't think she looked again.

@Karli:
Second, the first thought of most people (women or men) who might see a man in panties is that the panty wearer is gay, not that they are a crossdresser.

I know this is probably the knee jerk reaction by men and women who either do not understand homosexuality or are bias against homosexuals. All the gays and lesbians I have personal interaction with do not wear clothing which suggests homosexuality. I really have no idea what homosexuals do wear to announce their sexuality/preferences. And, yes, I have encountered on rare occasion gay men who have gone out of their way to be flamboyant and were craving to be in the lime light. The person who comes to mind went to his cousins wedding wearing a cream colored tuxedo with small red roses on it and the trousers/pants were shorts. Totally upstaging his female cousin. Sad display of being inconsiderate of the bride's day to shine.

There is so much discussion concerning gays and lesbians, transgender men and women and cross dressers in all forms of media (print, Internet, television) I wonder if these people ever try to be informed. Probably not.

I’ve never gone out en femme but when my wife is not around, I will underdress for days at a time. In the warmer months, that’s typically just wearing panties but in cooler weather when a jacket or sweatshirt is appropriate, I will wear a bra and a camisole and if wearing long trousers, I will, often wear pantyhose. To the best of my knowledge, no one has ever noticed except Superman with his X-ray vision.

Tracii G

99% of the gay men I know wear regular guy clothes including underwear.
Sexual preference has nothing to do with the clothes one wears.
Some gay men like that are referred to as "peacocks" because they are over the top and quite flamboyant.
I probably know 2 peacocks out of the several hundred gay men I know.
Most gay men you would never know are gay because they are men just like any other man.

I know this is probably the knee jerk reaction by men and women who either do not understand homosexuality or are bias against homosexuals.

Right, and more pertinent to this thread, it is the reaction by the majority of straight men and women who do not understand crossdressing. It has been said many times on this forum that the number one question of a wife upon finding that their husband crossdresses is, "are you gay?" It was also my experience.

I too underdress nearly everyday, bra, knickers and tights (or knee highs). I also very often have my nails painted.. I don’t care if anyone does notice anymore, I have much bigger things in my life to worry about than whether some sees my knickers. I find them much more comfortable than men’s underwear, which feel like canvas to me in comparison to the soft, gentle fabric of my cotton knickers.

Add me to the list of daily under dressers. I’ve done this so long, I don’t consider it under dressing, just my usual wear. Usually, Panties, (Vanity Fair) an a cup underwire bra and thigh or knee highs. I’m sure my hose have been spotted as I usually don’t wear guy socks. Do I care? Nope. I’ve received occasional smiles from some women, but nothing said. Smiles are nice.

Add me to the panties every day group. I think I might have one pair of boy undies in my drawer. I also wear pantyhose every day, except occasionally in the summer when I might wear sandals. Sometimes if I need to feel fem I'll wear a camisole, and sometimes a bralette, under boy mode.

I did at one time! Now, panties daily, women's jeans and V neck tee shirt with my go to women's loafers. Yes, all women's clothes except now they are my clothes! The only difference in male mode and female mode is wig, make up and bra/forms for female! I am not better than anyone else but have evolved past underdressing! Hugs Lana Mae

Years ago before I dressed every day I bought nylon underwear allegedly for men. These were sold at the old Mervyns department stores in California. I tried to corner the market. I think they were marketed for closet CDers like me because I can see no difference between these and brightly colored bikini panties. So when I have to dress as a man, I wear this "men's" underwear.

JaniceP

I started buying my own girl clothes when I was 12.

The very first item was a Pink Garter Panty, I was without doubt quite nervous. I then gathered up enough courage to go into a hosiery store (excuse me, but this was in the early 60's and there were no self serve shopping stores then) and bought my very first Pair of Nylon Stockings, they came in pairs, inside a pretty box with the nylons folded, reinforced heel and toe. I took my pretty clothes with me to the restroom (Men's:brokenheart:), took off my boy undies and socks and donned my Girly Panties and Stockings under my boy clothes. As I walked about the Plaza a couple of girls I knew from school approached me to say Hi.
As we talked one of the girls wanted to know what I bought (I was carrying the bag from my panty purchase and the stocking box with the other pair, Along with my boy undies and socks), looked into the bag and saw the stockings box on top! I was afraid if she knew I would be discovered, so I just said the Stockings were for my sister.
So whenever I have the chance I will under dress in Panties, Padded Hip and Butt control Pantie, Panty Girdle with Stockings attached, a Bra, depending where I'm at I'll insert my Silicone Breast Forms.
Dressing just makes Everything just seem so Right!

I pretty much always wear panties. Either nylon or microfiber. I don't wear bras or anything else feminine out of the house.
I don't do it for the thrill. I wear it for comfort. I feel like I am preserving a part of my femininity while maintaining the disguise I use for everyday things like work.
When I get home from work, one of the first things I do is change into a fully feminine look. Panties during the day are a good way to satisfy that desire for femininity until I can change at home.

"under" dressing is the majority of what I do. I'm not trying to pass so my clothes are plain. I wear womens jeans and plain tops sometimes but most of my dressing is based around bras and panties.

I used to be completely paranoid about getting caught but I've relaxed about this. I wear a bra at least five days every week most of the day. It's part of me and I don't give it a lot of thought. I don't go out of the way to show it (no white bras under white shirts or tank tops that clearly expose straps), but I'm not bundling up in heavy shirts to cover the straps. I just don't worry about it much anymore.

I've been caught twice. Once was wearing an underwire through airport security in the early 1990s. They were not very professional about it and insisted on a hand search. I survived. The other time was also travel-related. I fell asleep on a flight and woke up as a flight attendant walked by and smiled, when I realized while sleeping my shirt had shifted off my shoulder and one of my straps was quite visible. I survived that too.

So far I haven't been caught. If I were, I think I'll be fine. I'm just wondering what would be the reaction of those who catch a glimpse, flash, or peek of my intimates. Surprise? Or, perhaps, jealously? Hehe . . .

For the past several years I've been underdressing each day (panties every day and on occasion a bralette and more recently pantyhose). While I underdress and nobody knows, as I've aged I've gotten less caring if someone does catch me (there is at least one benefit to getting older!). While I don't purposefully try to have others catch me, I did have a funny experience a few months ago when I had to have a test to measure bone density loss. The very short version of this test is you lay on your back on a table and your legs are at a 90 degree angle (think of sitting in a chair but on your back). Before the test I was asked to strip down to just my underwear and put on a gown. As I wear panties each day and knew I was getting this test I didn't think twice about it. However I didn't realize about how my legs would be positioned. When asked by the technician to raise my legs (so she could put a cushion under my knees) it was then I realized my gown was not going to hide anything below my waist! Well I figured here we go! It wasn't planned, but I had on one of my brightest pink panties that day. The technician was so cool about it, I could tell she saw and looked at me and gave me a smile and went on about her business. I think a lot of us think getting caught translates into something bad happening. After that experience I truly am caring less and less each day. Enjoy underdressing!

A little late to this thread, but whatever...

I underdress daily, usually just panties with a unisex or women's T shirt under my collared guy shirt. Lately I've been acquiring more girly socks, too. I like the feel of the softer fabrics against my skin.

I wear jeans on the job, and as often as not they are size 12 or 14 instead of 34. If anyone's noticed, they haven't commented.

As KarenSusan said, there are some men's underwear that appear identical to certain styles in the women's department. (Jockey Elance, for one.) But the ones in the women's packaging come in more interesting colors. Whether it says size 7 or Large, I can't tell the difference in the cut.

90 percent of my underwear drawer is women's, more nylon than cotton; I haven't worn a pair of tighty-whities in months.

Whilst I do not underdress everyday, I certainly do wear panties on occasions whilst at work, less frequently a bra. I have never had any negative reactions if anyone has noticed, mind you they have never let on either if they did notice. Unfortunately I wear a uniform at work consisting of a shirt so unless the weather is cold out and I need to wear a jacket it is rather difficult to hide the outline of my bra.

If you enjoy and prefer wearing girl undies to men's then you should wear them and underdress everyday. Me, never been caught, well maybe once; was at a graveyard a few hundred feet away from another person also visiting and I was wearing tight girl jeans, top and D forms. He stopped in his tracks and gave me the once over. I would never see him again so every thing was cool. As for wearing a bra many flat chested women wear one everyday, no different than a man wearing one.

QUESTION: If you saw an overweight male with moobs would he look better wearing a bra? Would he need a bra as much or for the same reasons a woman does? My opinion, same thing.

If all men wore women's undies then male underwear would disappear and bra and panty sets would just become the norm for both male and female and the plumber could show his thong and nobody would care. Problem solved.

How's that for a logical, intelligent answer?

Rosie. I have only worn panties since I was about 20. The styles have changed. I don't wear for a thrill. I wear panties because they are comfortable.
At 50 I developed breasts due to gynecomastia from meds. I now wear a bra because it is necessary to support my breasts.

I underdress almost every day. Panties feel nicer to wear. The only time I wear male underwear is if I'm on a course where I'm sharing a room. I now need to wear a bra every day. If I'm in guy mode it will be a sports bra (for minimisation).

I'm not too concerned about anyone finding out, because although I'm well in the closet as far as my CD'ing goes, I can explain my bra due "Gynecomastia caused by a hormone imbalance". In the unlikely situation where someone else can see I'm wearing panties I'd just explain "It was dark when I got dressed", and leave it at that.

sure, that is always a concern, but it doesn't stop me from underdressing almost every day.

I am another who wears feminine underwear all the time, I have no male underwear.
Discovery is not a problem, I have had lots of discussions with anyone interested. My friends and family all know.

Been underdressing since I was 13. Back then we wore pantygirdles with thigh high nylons. Wore them to school a lot. Somewhere in H.S. the pantyhose change came and started wearing them. Been caught a few times, but in the end just don't worry about it. These days it is not unusual to wear pantyhose with my jeans that have the torn knees. Even worn them with sheer black nylons. When I've gotten those looks of OMG your wearing pantyhose! I just smile and keep going. Life is to short. I like what I like.

I'm not out to public so i love underdressing. For the last few months it has become my regular mode of attire.
So a few thoughts on underdressing....
If you don't want people to notice then be very careful what you wear. Certain garments are very hard to completely hide, altho the more layers you wear the more you can get away with.
Thin or tight outer layers are less likely to cover things well.
Check carefully in the mirror before going out (or get your partner to help, if this an option) and be mindful of things that may show if you bend over / sit down.
Remember that just because nobody comments it does not mean nobody has noticed what you're wearing underneath.
Enjoy your underdressing! (This bit is compulsory.) :cheer:

I like underdressing at work with my girlie briefs and pantyhose in the cooler months. Mostly I stick to nude or tan colors in case of a gap appearing between my socks and trousers but sometimes I'll just wear opaque black tights. Have toyed with wearing a bra but our office is warm so there's no need for sweaters and I'm wary of it being seen through my business

Totally love under dressing, can't even recall the last time that I wore anything other than panties and today I was out and about with my favourite bra under my shirt and it felt so GOOOOOOD

Underdress everyday with panties and camisole, even to the gym.

I have been wearing panties full time since the 1990's. Been caught a few times but it wasn't because I was wearing panties. It was mostly carelessness on my part and (once) my pants ripped.

I’ve been underdressing continuously since 1974 and sporadically before that. I haven’t owned any male underwear for many, many, years.

Back when I was working (I once worked, LOL), many times I would be in a business meeting with a number of people sitting around a conference table. I would be dressed in a business suit with jacket & tie etc. I always felt secure because I was totally dressed enfemme underneath. Normally I wore thigh high stockings, panties, and camisole. I seldom wore a bra because it was too hard to conceal. Occasionally I did though. No one ever knew.

Now, in my retired life, I dress enfemme every day. If I have to go somewhere in drab, I’m still enfemme underneath, aka underdressed.

Nothing has changed in all these years!

Hey!

So I don’t underdress. My job is.... unpredictable so I don’t want to risk getting outed. I also am just not a huge panty fan. I love the feeling of my beast forms on my chest in my bra. I have done it a few times and once I almost got busted. Not worth the risk. Same for home. As I’m not out to the wife, I almost got busted once and wrote it off as a bad idea. Durring the winter I do bra and breast forms because I live in North Dakota and we all the size of whales from all the coats and other junk we have to wear not to die.

I once almost got caught by my boss at a work when i bent over to get some papers. Luckily! she wasn't looking in my direction.. and just passed like nothing happened. Few moments later when i stood up i felt that my bright pink panties were wayyyy up there and the shirt was lifted :S. Thank god she didn't see that.

Yes I underdress. I haven't owned guy underwear since the early 80's.
I have D cup breasts due to gynecomastia from meds. I wear a bra to support my breasts.
Have I been caught? I guess that too is a yes. My bra is obvious. Because I have worn guys jeans that show plumbers _________, my panties do some time show. This is one more reason to switch to women's jeans f/t.
Repercussions? In the hospital ER I found out that I was going to stay for a while. The nurse told my wife that I would need clean bras and panties.
Pantyhose while wearing sandals. A guy asked if I was wearing nylons. I said No pantyhose.
A GG at work placed her hand on my bra band at the right strap. Extremely startled she jumped back and excused herself.

Been under dressing most of my life. have no male underwear at all. Plus almost all my jeans and slacks are female because they fit better.

I've under dressed several times now with just a bra and panties. At this point it's becoming less about the thrill and more about the comfort. I like the feeling more in a lot of ways.
