I was recently honored to be a very small part of A Prom to Remember, our local prom held for teens battling cancer.

If you are interested in a feel good story, if you are interested in seeing how we can be 100% accepted and included as a meaningful part of a community, please click here: https://kandis328772669.wordpress.com/2018/04/10/a-night-i-will-never-forget/.

There you will find an expansive story and pictures (yes, of me), demonstrating how you can make a real life for this "side" of you. You might even enjoy my photo with the reigning Miss Ohio!

I fool no one, I never pass and am 100% completely accepted by most. I have been able to become a valuable contributor to many organizations, on my own terms. My point, it's about the person in the dress, the attitude taken when approaching society. Your clothing is truly irrelevant.

Go out, be smart, be appropriate and be confident! The world is a whole lot more welcoming than the media would have you believe.

Kandi, you are an inspiration as always, and what an incredible contrast between your posts and the outrageous vanity of some other members on here. I salute you!

..."miss Ohio is the one on the right" I lol'd a that one.

You do us all a great service Kandi. I'm still trying to get out for at least a drive dressed for an hour or two.

What I wouldn't do to follow you around for a day just to take notes....

Another amazing story.
And what a great outfit! (The heels look great, but also look painful)
You are a world class representative of the sisterhood.

Dead on, Kandi! My approach mirrors yours exactly. Smart, appropriate and confident will open nearly any door for you.

If you own it, others will buy it. This has just become my mantra.

Kandi, Your modesty and humility is a huge inspiration especially considering some of the conversations on the forum lately. Danielle will never be out in public but if she were to venture out I could only hope she could be such a fantastic representative of our community as you are. I think some people here have forgotten self esteem and being conceited are two entirely different beasts. Your realistic self awareness of Kandi's presentation and passibility is a breath of fresh air.

Good work. Will try that purple dress as it may make the shoulder look narrower and lesser attention than short dress.

A prom to remember....nice! I will look into that. Are these events held elsewhere also? Was it a crossdresser support group organizing this event?

I see there is one in May on the 11th in Ft Lauderdale.

Great story of that night! I enjoyed reading your account of night on your blog. You're a great ambassador for the trans community. Especially in this day and age of bathroom bills and such.

Thank you all for your very kind and probably undeserved complements! This is the perfect example of what I refer to as my selfish unselfishness. Yes, I am giving my time, but I get much, much more in return. From the ability to dress for a specific occasion, to being treated like one of the ladies to the smiles from the kids, to the sense of community, nothing better!

The truth of the matter is that in most of my encounters, I am probably the first "person like me" that many interact with, certainly on an extended basis. I feel obligated to leave them with nothing but a positive impression. This is how we make it better for our sisters to follow and thank those that came before us. I went home that night feeling so blessed, for what I experienced and frankly, for the people that recognized me at the casino!

Thank you all!
