Once a week I plan a mid day shopping trip. While I was out yesterday I happened to stop in a Dressbarn and met the most wonderful sales associate.

She introduced herself, asked my name, and told me to call her Tina. I told her I was looking for a simple white blouse, the type I might wear to work in an office. She took me all over the store and showed me a number of options. She insisted that I try them on, and escorted me to the dressing room. She even wanted to see what I looked like in them. While I was in the dressing room, she came back, knocked on the door and said she found a couple other items that she thought I would like.

I picked one out, and we went to the register. On the way, she kept showing me other things and would say "You would look cute in this too!" It really made a great day for me. Here are a couple picks I snapped before I went out.

Sort of like shopping with a friend.

Nice blouse you are wearing.

I've been to DB many times. Once the SAs determine that you're serious, they'll keep making suggestions and bringing more things to try on. Plus, when they assign me a dressing room, they write my girl name on the whiteboard on the door. What could be cooler than that!

That is so cool.
When I was about 20 I went into a girdle store and said I was looking for an all-in-one open girdle for my girl friend.
Well when I told them what size I guess they figured out it was for me and got me to admit it.
The two older women were so nice and took my measurements and I ended buying a nice all-in-one that fit great!

Hi Steph,

That's so nice to hear. I had a very similar experience yesterday at a different store while out shopping and it made my day that much better.

Steph,

Glad you had that experience. I have had similar experiences at Dress barn in both boy and girl mode. The last time was in boy mode and the SA was thrilled. She told me she used to have a regular client that would come in every couple of months. So she understood fit issues and knew that heavier sweater dresses could be a challenge with foundation wear and padding. Very hot!

One thing I would like to point out. Your observation is excellent. While many here will say "Sure the SA was friendly, she wanted your money", I think that often the SA can be sincere.

The only time I went shopping for myself openly was at a DB. Showed up in male clothes and they were expecting me because I called in advance.
They called me Leah, brought me tons of clothes to try on.
The SA asked to see the fit of some pants she gave me and so I was out of the dressing room stall and her helping me out. My thong was showing and she said those were cute panties. It was such a great experience!
