My wife works an occasional Saturday so I had plans this morning for some "me" time. Well, first shes tells me she starts and hour later than normal, so that kills one hour. Early in the week my buddy called up and says he will be over Saturday to use my shop. He knows I tend to take in easy Saturday so we talked and figured he will show up around 10 AM, so now I might have and hour. Nope! My wife has not even left for work and she hollers that my buddy just pulled up to the shop. Turns out he was up early, and got other chores done so he came over earlier. He told me that he didn't need my help so go on with what ever I was doing, yeah, right! I don't think he knew what I had planned! I wanted to scream! I suppose I could have dressed, and strolled out to the shop to help.

As the Motown singing group The Shirelles once put it "Mama said there will be days like this..."

Weekends are my dressing up time. I don't usually dress both days, but I usually dress all day one day or another. Well, I planned on it today. That was before she bought something that needed to be pickup across town, and before she bought something nearby that had to be picked up. And that was before she ordered a takeout from a local restaurant where I would have to go into the store. So in all cases I had to change to drab instead of being dressed all day. Sometimes I think she's doing that on purpose because she really doesn't like my dressing? She did say I looked nice early in the day though.... maybe it was a setup. LOL

I'm going to guess that 15-25% of us had some version of this experience today!@?/#
I know I did. I'm confident my wife is fully aware that keeping me busy is not only good for getting her list done, but it keeps me out of trouble.

Best laid plans of CDs and dressing..... I've grown to just roll with the flow and plan another day. Also why I started wearing panties daily at least I have a touch of the feeling that no one knows.

Yep, I can relate. S*** happens. So much for a good few hours.

I'm with Jaylyn. My situation requires subterfuge. Panties are wonderful. Pantyhose under pants (w/ or w/o socks). Painting nails with a clear topcoat only. It's not much when you'd rather be strutting a mini and 5" sling-back peep-toe heels, but it's femme.

This, oh so many times. Missed weekends, family expectations, idiot colleagues, getting sick - I wish I could go out every weekend, but can't because of the amount of things to do outside of dressing up. The unlikely to happen compromise would be to be able to dress up and run my usual routines, but eh, still in the closet.
Renting a place I can only expect to use a few times a month would be too extravagant unfortunately, otherwise I would try to do that sometime.

Based on the post and responses, I'm a lucky girl. I dress every day, sans wig and makeup. But this girl has to always have her lipstick on.

If I had a pound for every time my plans were thwarted......but sometimes you get bonus days to make up for it. C'est la vie..

Sooner than I thought! Monday my wife tells me they scheduled her to work Saturday again. About 1/2 later my dad calls an says he would like to come visit Friday and Saturday, so another opportunity lost. Fortunately I am on the road this week so two nights in motels to dress. I would rather have the time at home. Something about doing chores dressed that I enjoy.
