This evening was very eventful for me!
I am in a DADT marriage and my wife would rather I kept my proclivities within the confines of our home. She is out of town visiting family; "When the cat's away..." I am largely closeted. I have ventured out into the wild a few times, but never really interacted with anyone other than a drive-thru twice. I dress in clothing, but have barely dabbled into makeup.
Today's plan was to start en drab, go kayaking, change into a cute dress, hit a drive-thru, and go home. Check, check, check, check, and check
Not long ago there was a thread about swimwear. I commented that I have been inundated with swimdress ads on my Facebook lately and that they intrigued me. I also mentioned that I was considering buying one to wear in my new kayak. I bought a swimdress and went kayaking today! I forgot it at home and had to go back to get it after work. I was supposed to meet a coworker, a GG, but she never showed. I was going to come out to her. Regardless, kayaking was a blast. I started with my swimdress under male board shorts and a t-shirt. I quickly shed those and enjoyed the freedom of my new swimsuit.

After I was done, I changed into a cute polka-dot dress for the drive home. I stopped along the way home to practice walking in different shoes. I love the wedges in the photo; they're Liz Claiborne from JC Penny that I bought some time ago.

Along the way home, I contacted the coworker that was supposed to kayak with me and asked her if she was available. I worked up the nerve and asked her to meet me. We met and she was very open and supportive. She was a little jealous of the dress and let me know how cute she thought it was and that I pull it off about every couple of sentences. She and I work in close proximity day in and day out so we have become pretty good friends over the last few years. We have already acknowledged that we wear the same size clothes before today. Our meeting brought this up and she offered to hand me down some of her clothes in the future. Earlier today before kayaking I had mentioned that I forgot my swimsuit at home to which she joked that I could borrow one of her bikinis. She brought this up and we had a good laugh that I probably would have taken her up on it.
After my little coming out meeting, I hit a drive-thru for dinner. I threw the poor girl off that was working the window. After I got to the window and paid, she gave me my drink and wished me a good evening. I asked, "my food?"
"Oh! I'm sorry! Just a moment."
Now I'm fat and happy, having eaten. Everything worked out. The world hasn't ended. I'm curious about my update with my coworker and how things might change.
I'm sorry if this is fragmented. I did straighten a lot of it out. I am just very happy right now and must go to sleep.
