"Is there a possibility you may be pregnant?"

I was filling out a form at the doctor's the other day and I got a chuckle when I saw this question.

I also found it funny that the form emphasized the fact that the question was for women only.

Have any of you ladies had a similar experience?

Well since most doctor's offices use the same form for both genetic male and female patients you will see this a lot.

Don't read anything in to it.

I had a medical condition a few years ago that was more common in pregnant women. The doctor jokingly said "I'll assume you aren't pregnant".

I also had a Thyroid Tumour removed about ten years ago. I remember the specialist saying "Unusual to see this in a man. It's typically women who get them". I'll assume it wasn't my dressing that caused it lol.

I agree with Margaret and have seen several questions geared toward women.

I believe it is implied that they mean it is for biological women... No sense in fooling yourself, there is a difference in physiology...

There's the famous story about an incident that happened during the making of the film 'The Crying Game':

A few weeks into filming, Jaye Davidson got ill from flu. A doctor was called to the set to take a look at him. The doctor entered Jaye's tiny trailer, examined him and came out to talk to director Neil Jordan. The doctor asked Neil "Have you considered the possibility that she might be pregnant?". To which Neil and the other crew began to laugh. The doctor looked bemused, and was only let in on the secret a few minutes later. He felt very foolish

I've made a mistake several times on my blood donation questionaire , it has a whole list of questions that are for either gender but one box at the bottom is for female donors only . I'm sure most of us have become a little tick happy when checking boxes however it did become a little confusing for them at my last session because I attended dressed and again had ticked the box .
