At Work

So I've had a routine, every month, working with one of the other guys on the team.
We do a high tech routine, the sort of job, if you miss a step in a sequence, you get to watch $3 million dollars get washed away.

On Thursday, he mentioned that there were rumours going around work about him.
Without missing a beat, while swinging on a large water valve while up on a ladder, I asked if it was about gender.
He said "so you've heard", I said "no, but I did notice you now have pretty studs".
He then confirmed he was transitioning, been 4 months on HRT and now has noticeable boobs.
After the job completion, we spent about an hour in a coffee shop having good old girl to girl chat.

Sunday 19th (3 days later) we got together for a morning coffee and an hour of mall shopping, looking for a style for her.
This was my outfit for our morning together.

Years ago, when I had a real job, there was an employee who disappeared for about 2 months, or so. He and I used to share a cigarette (back in those days of ignorance!) in the outside concourse, occasionally. I used to wonder where he went, but people just didn't seem to know.
Then, one day, he came back to work. Rather, she came back to work! He was now a she, a lovely lady, and just went right back into doing her civil service job! Ever since then I have regretted, and still do, not getting to re-know her. I really made a big mistake! I think I spoke to her once, before I retired, and that was simply mumbling around! Oh, how ignorant and insensitive I was! I so wish I could do it all over again!
