Headed to vacation in New orleans dor 5 days

Planning to spend 5 days in the quarter and from minute one Nick is gone and it will be Nickie from pulling out of the driveway. Have a hotel booked in the quarter.

Of course planning Cafe du Monde' for breakfast at least one morning.
Hoping to do Brennan's one night for dinner
(Anyone know if these establishments are accepting my credit cards are good and paid off LOL).

Any other must see? Will probably do Jackson square.

Any other suggestions?

First have a great time, we saw where they keep and make the floats for the parades it was cool. You might like the world war II museum.

Liuza’s on Bienville is a good local restaurant with great food. Visit the aquarium. Get a mufflelata at Central Grocery and have it for lunch for the next four days. See Jackson Square.

If your hotel has a concierge service ask them about restaurants and reservations.

My wife and I were there last April and the crowds waiting for tables at many venue's were incredibly long. We did have dinner one night at Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse. Very Pricey but worth every penny. We're fond of "Port of Call" which is a local restaurant/steak place. You'll have to wait but the food it wonderful.

Consider taking one of the riverboat trips for a few hours.

The WW2 museum is incredible but buy the 2-day ticket. You'll need at least that much time to get through all 4 buildings. Also, talk to the volunteers. The majority are veteran's and have incredible stories to tell.

There is the Audubon Zoo. You must ride the trolley car up and down St. James. Buy the day pass, it's cheaper and there is a stop close, walking distance, to the WW2 museum. Oh, you will need to have exact change.

Have a great time, take lots of pictures and let us see them!!!!

Restaurants often have tables available when they first open so you might try that if you don't mind early dining.

When in NOLA I just ride the trams, eat the food and ride the ferry near sunset, always looks good.

I have no specific eating house, the Casino is always worth a walk through.

Nice food there.

The Jazz walk of fame should look a bit better now.

It was wonderful when it was established and a sorry sight after the floods, I have not seen it for about four years.

Adding to the previous suggestions... shopping in The Quarter is a must. If you like music, it's hard to wrong in NOLA, so the only chore is choosing, but if you appreciate Dixieland Jazz at all, Preservation Hall is a must. And second the suggestion to have the concierge suggest restaurants.

Cafe Du mond is a must, Dat dog on Frenchman St (in the Quarter) is a great place, go upstairs and eat on the patio. Have a great sandwich and listen to the music coming from all the other bars near by.
