I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow to see if he will be on board with working with the ob/gyn/endo! I have been going to this doctor for more or less 30 years off and on! If he says no, then what? I guess I will have to find another one who will! Can't wait until it is over! Hugs Lana Mae

Hi Lana Mae,
I hope and pray everything goes well for you. If your physician does not cooperate then find someone who will. If you can commute to a major city like Charlotte or Raleigh, I do not think you should have a major problem in finding someone.

I imagine that the only reason a good professional would oppose is because your health if not problem there and he/she still opposed look other professional.
Best wishes Lana.

OK! Back from doctor and ...he is on-board and will assist as needed! I am so overjoyed! Now to the next doctor! Slow but steady progress! Oh BTW, the doctor had a med student with him! I just went right to telling the doctor I am transgender and want to start Hormones! The doctor asked what I needed and the student's eyes were big but said nothing! I was also seeing him for follow up on my diabetes and he gave me some guidelines! I mentioned the Anora being expensive and he gave me 3 samples! All in all a good visit! Hugs Lana Mae

There is nothing like progress to improve your ability to quiet the voices that unnecessarily say "wait, not yet". Forge ahead and best of continued good luck.

Lana,
I'm sure if it was the UK he couldn't refuse to see you on your way through a referral , he is just a General Practitioner not a specialist , he really shouldn't stand in your way .
Again in the UK we have the right to ask for a second opinion with the NHS , I'm sure no GP wants to be obstructive unless it's on very firm grounds .The fact he has been your doctor for so long he is fully aware of possible medical problems which naturally he is duty bound to pass on if they could cause any problems but that would be in your interest .
I've just picked up on you reply after the consulatation , I guessed all would be well . It's good news but please take it at your pace , I wish you all the best .

Great news Lana!
It's ok going slow. Remember that hormones effects work different in all us but something is sure, they don't work for night to morning and time passes anyways.
I
Remember a thread about me in day zero? Well I'm in my month six and happy with the changes so far. It's kind of a blessing that from first night I experience good changes and those one you can feel and soon see is breast growing, with those lovely early symptoms of some sore, sensitive nipples, then the mass growing under skin, they work as an assurance that you're on hormones.
Happy for you and keep in touch!
