In a previous thread, talk was made of the side effects of hormones taken to develop breasts. What are these side effects. I am seriously considering taking hormones. Can anyone recommend a good product.
Thanks,
Christina

Before you even consider taking hormones, talk to your doctor!

These are very serious drugs with side effects, they are not for recreation. Talk to your physician

Liver problems, elevated potassium levels leading to heart problems, hypertension, increased risk for certain cancers, loss of libido (not always a bad thing), sterility. I'm pretty sure i'm missing some stuff.
Like the others said, go see a doctor. If you don't want to see a doctor, at least get the monthly blood tests.

I'm actually suffering from low potassium, low calcium, raised liver function and moderate high blood pressure. I know this because I safely take hormones and am monitored by my doctor. If my blood pressure raises further (it's 160/110 resting) I'll need tablets to control it. So yes, see a professional first ok?
Oh, Regina did miss another side effect: death. It does happen. Honestly.
And you also lose the ability to parallel park.
Take care :)

I used to know a girl who tried hormones on her own and developed liver cancer. TERMINAL LIVER CANCER. Noticed how I said I used to know? She was only 37 when it happened and 39 when it ended. I always use her story when someone asks the question about doing it on their own so maybe her death won't be in vain. And yes, I'm fully aware of a lot of girls doing it on their own and getting away with it, but please don't try it. It's not worth it.

I am seriously thinking of taking hormones to expand my breasts. What are the side effects.

Too many to count. There have been some good posts on this subject that you might want to look at. Do a search.

hi christina!!,,, jus' wanna emphatically echo what has already been said!!!,,, i've twice been on a combination andro-blocker & hormone therapy,, tho' with some modest success,,, also had t' stop because of blood clotting issues and other concerns!!!,,, soooo,,, doo consult with both your regular physician and a specialist who has dealt with th' transgendered previously, to determine appropriate dosage, and monitor you on a regular basis,,, please.
