When I'm home, I am dressed en femme most days (usually pretty casual, little or no make up, minimal effort on my hair, it's just my 'clothes'). I do it up more pretty on the weekends.

Most of this time, early morning, weekday evenings, I feel pretty feminine. And why not? My feminine side has a lot of catching up to do! Often even at work I still feel feminine around the edges.

Today, for whatever reason, I was just not feeling it as I left work. All day in my man costume and putting the work day took its toll, but I WANTED to feel fem! Facing traffic and weather, I worried that the commute would just make my drudge feelings worse. So I put my big girl panties on (metaphorically, I was driving) and spent the commute practicing my feminine voice (sounds terrible, but the act of doing sure helped!)

I got home and my wife had ordered Chinese. Yay! I don't have to cook dinner! I slipped out of my man costume and into some regular clothes and already started to feel better. As I was quickly brushing my hair to be somewhat presentable for dinner, my wife came in and she had a NEW SWEATER that she picked out just for me!

It's gorgeous, much needed, and she lit up with a big smile when she saw my reaction! My day was already easing, but wow she sure knows how to make a girl smile.

The sweater, yes … but much more so my wife's reaction and how tightly she hugged me while telling me how pretty I look in it!

I wish my wife would do something like that for me.

I know the “man suit” feeling. Can’t wait til I get home from work to slip into something better!

Glenda, tell her you need a new sweater! (skirt, set of makeup brushes, or whatever) she might surprise you :)

Michaela, herself and I often joke about my 'man suit' lol. Just tonight (a little later on) she asked me if I would dress full time if I were retired. I told her that's a long way off and I can't predict the future, and that I don't hate my man costume nor my masculine side … only, that I've done that for a half a century more or less and I'm just enjoying my feminine side so much!

Macey, since your wife is so supportive, you can get out of your post-work man suit dumps a bit by putting on a little lipstick when you begin your drive home. I did it for years, but removed it before arriving home.

You know what? That's a great idea! Some weeknights I'll put some on when I get home, but I don't know why I didn't think of it when I get out of work for the drive home! Maybe a little mascara too :)
