So I posted about how in trying to get ready everything went pear shaped. Well this morning I needed everything to go to plan. Thankfully in did and I was dressed with face on and out the house within an hour to drive to catch the train.
The 09:13 was on time. I chatted to the train manager while paying for my return ticket. He was pleasant, a normal person to person exchange. An hour later arrived to catch a bus to complete my journey. One arrived after 10 minutes or so and again the driver was chatty, just treating me like anyone else.
So an hour and 45 minutes after catching the train I'm now at Cheshire Oaks, an outlet retail park. What happens is all the big retailers and brands sell off there old stock at sometimes really knock down prices plus along side these will be the premium highend shops. So bargains to be had but only if there's something in your size left!
So into Clarks. No shoes but picked up a bright red handbag for £12. Then I found the M&S outlet shop. There I found 3 skirts I liked the look of. Took them to the changing rooms, was shown without any fuss to a cubicle by an SA, tried them on, bought 2 for £30.
As well as the outlet shop M&S have a standard store at the other end of the park so ended up there via a few others. Couldn't find anything to pair with the skirts so opted for a bite to eat in the cafe. Stood in the queue chatting to 4 ladies all over 70, paid, got called madam by the male cashier, ate my food and set off to catch the bus back to Chester where I prowled the shops but found nothing so decided to catch the train home.
Train not due for 45 minutes. Cold and windy on the station so decided it would be better to wait with a glass of wine in tbe pubover the road which is what I did. I must admit to a little apprehension going into a pub alone but all was good. Caught the train, back home inlittle ovet an hour.
Decided to round off the day eating out at a pizza place I know. Matched a pair of my new shoes to one of the skirts and set off only to find it closed. I'd passed a hotel just down the road so went in there and fortunately they were still serving in the restaurant. Treated well by the staff, enjoyable 2 course meal so time to head back to base.
So what's to be made of this? Over 12 hours out amongst the muggles. No drama's, no conflicts, just me getting on with life. Oh, and in 12 hours you need to pee, which I did several times and again no crisis. Yep this is just another tale of one of us doing ordinary things but just dressed.
So what are you waiting for?
