I can hardly believe how much things have improved for me.

Nope, it hasn't been all rainbows and unicorns.

However, I have never been happier.

Everywhere I go, I am constantly surprised.

The strangest thing for me to get used to are the complements.

Complements on my hair, my piercings, my eyes, my smile, etc.

Then things occasionally will still take that turn that take me down a peg or two. Like when I'm wearing a heavy jacket and I get that dreaded "Sir" while I'm at the grocery store.

The one thing I have noticed though. Those positives are always getting more frequent and the "Sir" gets further and farther between.

Life is so wonderful. Its nice to finally feel more and more human.

I won't lie.

The process I'm going through just to gain access to the Doctors that will help me is a lot slower than I like and I'm still going stir crazy waiting on approvals.

But, as far as I can see, everything is looking good.

Congratulations on you new life. Welcome to the Hurry up (our needs) and wait (their indifference) world. I find that the insurance companies are the biggest delayers!

Hurry up and wait!!!!! That’s a good one for so many of us.

The moment of realization for me was a good 3 yrs away from real life.

Emma. Great job!,, you deserve a ton of credit and I hope you get everything you are aiming for

The sir stuff can be disheartening. I get it on phone call and drive through just enough but in the end it’s totally worth it.
