My left big toenail had a split in it so I made an appointment with a local Podiatrist. I had nail polish on all my toenails but only took it off the one with the split in it. I wore shoes and socks and arrived early expecting a full waiting room, but it was empty to my surprise. I was a tinsy bit nervous when I got called in, but bit the bullet and took my shoe and sock off, he never said a thing about the nail polish to my relief.
He went about fixing the nail, he cut some off then used a little grinder, once he was finished my nail was as good as new, I then asked him if I could put nail polish on it and he said of cause you can do you have it here I can put it on for you if you like, well I was amazed at that responce, but declined as I had to put my shoe and sock back on.
Just goes to show that being nervous and worrying about what people will think and say does not always pan out, best idea is just don't care what others think just do what pleases you.

I’m happy your visit to the Dr went well but I would have freaked out when he offered to apply the nail polish.

Polish on some nails does help protect them from splitting.

Glad things turned out so well. I suspect he's seen things much more "different" than that.

I'm on the fence regarding him putting on a fresh coat of polish though.
