Can you fly pretty with your regular male ID

There have been many members who have done this with no issues. There was one member (TxKimberly) who seemed to do it on a regular basis. Closest I got was having my foundation matched at MAC on the way to the airport, and wearing girl's shorts and sneakers.

Last year fly to vegas and back. no problems

except. I have a metal rod in my leg. So I wasn't worried about my underwire bra. Well the leg was no problem, the bra wasn't.

On the return trip, sports bra, wedges, no problems.

Sure can. Just ask the TSA

That being said, I've never been brave enough to do anything but underdress.

Just a note to under-dressers your bra even a soft-cup will show up on the new scanners so be prepared.

My bra set off an alarm on my back (the hooks) so the TSA had to so a manual check. The Agent ran his had across my back and said he can feel something under my shirt, I just told them I was wearing a bra, and that was that.

I guess I should add that I did fly with a lot of pretties for a two week business trip.

My clothes were checked, but my jewelry and forms were in carry-on. The forms did show up on the X-Rays. I knew that they would. They look kind of like C4.

The TSA agent came up to me and we had the following exchange:

Him: It this bag yours?

Me: Yes, and I know what you're looking at. I have breast forms in there.

Him: I still need to inspect the bag. Would you like a private screening?

Me: Yes, please. [I knew the rules, and I had been planning on asking for a private screening, or demanding one if necessary]

We went to a private screening room. I basically emptied my carry-on bag for inspection. He inspected, and allowed me to re-pack my bag in private. I thanked him for his professionalism, understanding and discretion.

I have not flown pretty yet but all my silicone goes with my regular baggage and they are more worried about the radios, batteries and chargers that are in my carry on baggage.

Rachael,
That is a lame excuse....

I believe you are the last one left in NZ and you haven't turned the lights out yet. :-)

Nope, although I expect to do some cross country solos in coming weeks. If en femme, would that count?

I took a flight from New York to Las Vegas. When I went through the scanner there were two anomalies. I'll let you figure which ones. The Apparently new TSA agent asked her Superior if it should be raised to another level and someone else should come down. He said to her what do you reasonably think is going on here? With that she said have a nice day. Nothing at all on the way home. So that was my experience. Your results May Vary but shouldn't. I think the most important thing is how you carry yourself. I was not nervous I was matter-of-fact and I was patient. Nothing to trigger any additional concerns.

does anyone know when they do the head count (or check the passenger is physically in the assigned seat), do they check if it's a female or male?

I did my version of flying pretty for the first time at the beginning of January. Decided to wear my stretch slightly flared jeans, bannana republic white shirt, and 3" heeled booties. Walked from the garage all the way to the gate. Longest walk EVER in heels. Had to take my booties off and put them through the machine. I wore my opaque pantyhose so it looked like I had dress socks on.( would have rather worn sheer hosiery but that is for another day)....Waited till the end of my boarding group before I walked forward to board the plane - it was noticable I was wearing heels..but I looked forward and not at the rest of the crowd waiting to board the plane to see if there were any reactions.....no issues with TSA since I was presenting as male.. It was the best flight ever...Can't wait for my next trip when I will be wearing my 4" heeled booties...

Simple answer is yes. Prepare yourself though as there is no hiding. Just dress to blend in and all will be well. I flew 16 flight last year in Europe and across to the US (and within the US as well).

Several years ago I had a strange thing happen when traveling to Las Vegas. ON the flight out, I was underdressed and had my forms and perfume in my carry on bag. I was wondering whether anything would be said or happen, went thru the body scanner, and no mention of my bra when I exited the scanner, which was a relief. Another relief was that I was able to take my carry on bag off the runner and continue onto the gate. HOWEVER, on the way back, I went thru the body scanner with a stop and a pat down, and my bag was held up for inspection. I was asked about the "corner" of the bag, and I quietly said that they were my forms. I did ask for a private search, and the agent instead just had me open the zipper, she slid her hand inside to that corner, and then removed her hand, without saying anything. BUT she did go back into the bag and remove my perfume bottle and stated that its was too large and I could not take it on the plane. So everything else was fine, and lost my bottle of perfume....
