When I went to the gala two weeks ago I went and had my nails done for the first time in over 6 months. I had almost forgotten how much I love my nails long and painted. Since I am not working at the moment I decided to keep them on. I have found that mostly I get very little reaction to them when out in public drab. Well at least to my face. What happens or is said after I leave is probobly a different story lol.

The other night My wife and I went to rent some movies. We got to the counter and started setting up our new account for here. My wife remembered another movie she wanted and then went back to find it. Then to my supprise the girl behind the counter who is probobly in her early to mid 20's told me she loved my nails and wanted to know what the color was. At first I could only shyly mumble thanks, but then I tried to open up and let her know that I didn't remember the exact color, that I had justed picked it off the wal at the salon. Bunny had returned by then and I asked her if she remembered the color. She didn't. The girl then said she has always wanted to go get hers done.

I thought that was cool but then it gets better. last night we return to get some new movies. The same girl was working, and even with other customers at the counter she made sure to come over to welcome us and get our returns. Once we got our movies and went to check them out she started a conversation and was just as chatty as she could be to both me and my wife. As we left the store my wife wondered if maybe she should be introduced to one of the single younger CD's. I agreed that might not be a bad idea.

I think this is so cool. To find acceptance because of my differences is great. Now if only others could be as open minded.

That's a cool story Charlene. When I was at the doctor's office a couple of weeks ago, the receptionist complimented the color of my nail polish too, she was such a sweetheart. I told her I was TG, and she thought that was great if I was happy...goes to show that there are some open minded people out there!

I was at the bank on day and the teller commented on how nice my nails were. I thanked her and commented on how nice hers were. She held her hand out so I could see hers better. Another lady customer next to us also commented how nice mine were and and asked if I had them done at a nail salon. I said "Yes, I go every couple of weeks". She then turned to her husband and said "see men can have nice nails and DO goto nail salons". Boy did I get a stare from him. LOL

I normally don't get many comments. Most of the time no one seems to notice.

I get my nails manicured about evry two weeks. I keep them slightly longer (about 1/8" in length). I keep shiny clear polish on them at all times. I frequently get compliments from women on how nice my nails look, and if I get them professionally done. When I reply, "yes", frequently they will say, "more men should do this. BTW, my next manicure appointment is this Friday.

Hi girls I have kept my nails long and polished for over a year both in drab and fem. for maney years I would go and get my nails done just to cut them off to fit in to the standerd world .but about a year ago I said what the heck
and kept them on and to my suprise most people eather did not care or did not comment . I have found that the biggest changled we face is how we percive what outher people think and the bottom line is its not thier nails hair or whatever. my nails are about half a inch past my fingers and yes i do get comments but that's how the world is I just tell people thats how i like them
and dont care if theay like it or not after all life should not be about conforming to the norm I know it is but why.
