Probably has been asked but I'm new here and there are a lot of us. How did you come by your name (fem now)? Was it someone you knew from the past or presant a personality somebody really special ? Or just a name that best descibes the woman you are.
Janelle Young

I took the name Janelle because I think it is a nice name and I have always liked it. Also because my given name starts with the same letter.

Hi girls!
I came up with my name from a very old brazilian folk tale......that I read in a book belonging to my first lover. The tale was about an indian woman who lived in the jungle and somehow killed man as they approached to the river to drink its water. I took it because I like the way it sounds "Yara", and because of the indian aspect of the tail...I didn't care about the killing part....but I decided to add "h" so it became Yarah!
Bye
Yarah

It was easy for me as my given name is Francis. All my life I was teased about having a girl's name. If they had only known.:D

My male name is Dan, so Danielle always seemed "cute" to me. When I was about 11, I had long hair and feminine features, so my mom would call me Denise sometimes. She knew I was girlish, and I loved it when she would recognize it by saying things like "You look so nice today Denise". We would laugh and joke about how I was "just like a girl". That was so fun. But since I was about 20, I have thought of my feminine self as 'Danielle".

I mostly use the fem version of my name, although as I further develop my femme side this is open to change.
I changed the last letter of my name and hey presto Toni was born.

Ah! it is sad to say that I debated about joining the forum so in a fit of panic I chose the name of the Cat! Now I feel like indian Jones! You are named after the Cat!
Just not as heroic and a little more feminine!

My name is taken from three special women in my early life. Sarah was a girlfriend in that she was a girl and and close friend, we never went out together but did tell each other everything. We wer more like girsfriends. She was my best friend she even told me about her engagment before she told her parents. Jane was the name of two other friends, it was the second name of one friend who kill her self (what a waste) and Jane was the name of another close friend who was kill in a mountaineering accident.
Now they will always be a part of me.
I use Sarahjan without the e as a login as I often find Sarahjane has already been used. So now I always use it as a standard login.

Well, I went through a baby name book - picked out a few names and gave them consideration for a week. In the end, Clare just seemed right for me. I did do a poll in another forum and Clare came out tops in the vote, so that sealed it for me. The other name in the poll is now my second name too. What is that you ask? Bethany!
No more name changes for this girl! I'm content with these names, so much so, i'm considering changing my name legally, whether i'm male or female! I just want the names so deperately in real life!
Lisa Golightly
03-23-2006, 03:49 AM
Lisa would have been my birth name if I had been a girl and my middle name would have been Maria so I adopted them both. My surname came from Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's. During one part of my life I could relate to Holly very closely and it seemed an apt choice...
So there you are... Lisa Maria Golightly

Helen after a girl in my class at school when I was a teenager and who I modeled myself upon and she looked a bit like me. MC stands for Montfort and Cherub, the Brand Names of the Navy Blue or White cotton schoolgirl knickers I borrowed from my big sister Anne to wear.

Some really nice posts. Joy was a woman that I meet when I was about ten she was deeply tanned dark haired and a great shape. She was about twenty at the time and took to me like a favorite little brother. She sent me post cards for a while and I cherish the memory of her so much that I use her name the last name is in my family so since I gave "her" a name I'm more accepting of who I am.
Lawren
03-23-2006, 07:31 AM
Lawren is just a shortened version of my male name. I chose it because it makes catalogue/internet ordering of fem things simpler. Of course I also like the named. Lawrence/Lawren and all of the derivitives mean "Crowned" which also add a very nice touch.

The name Karen picked me 40 years ago. I wasn't looking for a name, but one day I woke up and thought that's who I am...kinda hard to explain, it just seemed to make sense. Gypsy is my nickname given to me by my wife. My middle name is Marie, I did pick that because I always thought it was a pretty name.

I write as a hobby. Years ago I was planning a story from the first person perspective of the woman in the story. I dug deep into myself to figure out who she was. The name Shari Ann just felt right. That character became my persona as I explored different fantasies. To this day when I really get into a character I'm developing for a story I have to try hard not to name her Shari. (The "Ann" is mine; no character gets that.) When I joined this site I realized that Shari Ann had personified that part of me. So here I am.

I have tried many. One was after my older cousin who used to get dressed in front of my when I was about 5. I've had a few others that just sounded nice but with no meaning.
I was looking for a new name becasue my male name Rick didn't fit me anymore becasue I dressed most of the time, Rikki sounded to young for a 55 year old woman. (I have used it online for years, that's why I used it here.)
I was searching for a name that could be male or female because I can appear as either from time to time. Renee came to mind in a discussion we were having.
Then my sweetie came home with a book. I've forgetten the tittle but it was something like "How to be a mistress to your sissy maid" It was fun and cute. One of the first chapters said for the mistress to name her maid and some and Renee was there.
Then I was on a business trip and my sweetie called to tell me that Renee meant rebirth, renewal and that kind of clinched it for me. That and I liked the reference to Renee Richards.
Together with many friends we had a naming ceremony in the park on Easter Sunday two years ago and I have been know as Renee ever since.
In about 3 weeks I'll be going to court to have it changed legally.
It feels right and that it belongs to me.
That's how I got my name.

Mine is in honor of my first crush in grammar school. She was a lovely girl and I remember her well.
Personally, I never liked the idea of feminizing my name. I was always afraid I'd be some where and someone would think they recognized me and called out my male name and of course I'd forget and respond (so much for anonimity) :o
Still working on having my wife call me Cheryl. It's a foreign idea for her and I understand that, but it would be nice to hear that when I look and feel that way.
