I bought a 3/4 length denim skirt
one side has a 8" slit at the bottom and two pockets
the other has the zipper and button closer
which side the front & which side the back?
both way look OK
(there are no tags)

My guess would be...pockets & slit at back, with button & zipper up front.

I would say the opposite - girls pockets at front not on your backside - on the other hand I would not expect the slit at the front

If it's a fly zipper it should go in front, if it is a plain zipper in back. But its your skirt wear it any way you want to.

Look for the tag. The tag is always in the back. Put the tag in the back and that will tell you where the zipper should be.

I would say the slit at the bottom and the pockets are in back, with the zipper and closure at the front, since you didn't really discribe where the pockets were. .. whether they were side type pocket, or a "hip pocket".
(and Jodi, didn't you read "no tag"???)

But this is just a hunch. My daughter made a 3/4 to full length skirt one time that seems to fit the discription, by taking a pair of jean, cuttting out the inseam, and sewing the legs to make the skirt. In the process, she also cut the back seam at the waist...and you might have guessed it..removed the tag to pull the waist in just a bit more. You might look close to where the tag might have been. That could also give you a clue.

Anyway, I agree with the others. However you think it looks good, wear it.

Are there any "darts" in your skirt?
These are where the material has been gathered in to give a nice fit around the hips.
They look like two small details of stitching ( sometimes a straight line or a V) below the skirt waistband.
These are usually at the front of the skirt.
Some skirts are made with an obvious "butt" area in them.
As has already been said, it's your skirt, wear it whichever way suits you, just enjoy wearing it.
