Thanks for posting that link. It is good information. One of my daughters is a therapist and these are exactly the things she talks about as being the advantage of going to a therapist. And the confidentiality laws are very strict; a therapist can lose their license if they divulge confidential information. We talk about gender and all kinds of other aspects of psychology and its biological links, but if the talk turns to personal issues she is very careful to keep it limited. As she says, "I can't provide therapeutic advice for you, because I am biased; you are my dad." We never the less talk about things in a father/daughter fashion. That's OK.
