I was at Avenue this morning and the manager asked if I would be a model for their in-store spring fashion show. I have always wanted to do something like this. I don't know if I am ready for this kind of exposure. I am only out to a handful of people. I am leery of having my picture out there, were I cant control the narrative. (I am assuming they will post pics on their social media). this would be such a hoot. My sister is all for it, and my friend asked if I would be ready for that kind of exposure. I have a couple of weeks to ponder it. This would be a big step.
I would be tragic to have to get my toes & nails done, get my makeup done and be forced to wear pretty spring clothes. But I think I could manage.

I have no interest in being a model, I just want to be me and enjoy who I am

Oh wow Sarah, sounds like fun. Yes I would love it but unfortunately I don’t have the look of one but yes would do it

Sarah. They wouldn’t need to ask me twice. I would jump at that chance.

Never gave much thought to being a model but....
I've always wanted to perfect my walk in high-heels and walk the way women do. I honestly can't think of anyone who does that better than models. If you've ever watched a fashion show on tv, you can see how the models walk.
Also as a crossdresser, my goal is to not only look like a woman, but to appear as sexy and hot as I possibly can. Models are supposed to be both. Hmmm, maybe I want to be a model and just don't know it yet  ???

If you're even thinking about it, do it! Not everyone has that opportunity, and it's not everyday another opportunity will come along :) The worst that could happen is that you regret doing it, which I think would be better than having regret about not doing it

Sounds like a nice opportunity. For me, I guess I am a bit too private. Not for me I guess.

If you are ok with being out, then I see no harm from doing it.

It's not for me, but if you like it you should go and have fun.

It sounds like it could be a really fun time.

I would leap at this opportunity. But as the owner of a face that has left a trail of broken mirrors and camera lenses all over the Midwest, it is unlikely I will ever get such an offer.

Given half a chance, I'd jump on it.

Sara,
Give it lots of thought make further enquiries and I would say go for it.

It could be life changing for you, depending on how far you are out already.

I did modelling for a boutique at one time, this was for charity events where they would try and get a foot in with whatever organisation was holding the event.

The gimmick with me was,'even a man can look good in our fashions'.

The big reveal at the end was always greeted with enthusiasm.

In a twist I did not see coming, I mentioned this to my wife and she thinks I really should consider doing it. I am going to go talk with the manager and see what's what.
I have always wanted somebody to ask me to do something like this. At the very least I have another thing check off my list.

Erinna as far as being famous and sought after, that ain't ever gonna happen.

Is it possible you would be unrecognizable? Sounds like it would be fun. Do you know a lot of folks who might be seeing your pictures? Sherrii

I agree with Sherrii, you will look totally different, go for it, this is the chance of a lifetime.

When I have been to cross dressing events and meet up the next morning (in male guise) in the most cases its the voice you recognize, hardly ever the face.

Contouring make up ... we love you

Maybe, if I can still feel like I am wearing something I would wear myself. Maybe not, I am really shy :)

Oh girl you need to go for it! You'll look back in a number of years and regret it if you don't. Just do it and have fun!

As long as you get to hash out the details it sounds like a good idea. For your privacy I would make sure the store did not identify you. I had to look up Avenue to see what clothing it sells. Plus size store. I wonder if the store has a good number of cross dressing customers. I would ask whether I was going to be paid in dresses or at least get a steep discount.

Would I do it? Not at my advanced age (71)

I took a modeling gig a few years back. For a company called "Incredible Features". An independant photo business. I spent 10 hours striking poses in a number of different outfits at home, in a mall, and at the beach. Totally wiped me out!

No pay. I was promised a copy of the video and the best of the 1000's of pix they took. Finally, after 6 months a sympathetic assistant sent me 10 photos. Because she said everything belonged to her boss and he sold the pix to online magazines!
This is one of them!

What a huge compliment to be asked! I would go for it without hesitation--especially since your wife is on board.

As others have mentioned, when in full makeup and wig you will be un-recognizable. I love the before and after thread because it really illustrates this perfectly.

Awesome that you were asked! If I were offered that opportunity, I'm not sure whether I would take it or not. I lean towards not, but I'm glad someone mentioned how hard work it is.

When I think of modelling, I recall a photographer talking about a photoshoot with a high-profile model ( I forgot who ), and he told of how she showed up with a toothache, did an 8 hour photoshoot, then went straight to a dentist. OK, many of us have done work shifts with toothaches, headaches, etc, most likely on multiple consecutive days because same-day appointments are logistically unlikely in a job with regular hours,.. so I'm not making her out to be a superhero or anything. Just that the glamorous photo is only the final step, and there is a grind that leads up to that.

I made the decision that I will do there fall show. Mostly I don't like spring and summer clothes. There area couple other reasons but they are more that I am not quite ready to be that far out there yet. Baby step.
