I am a 69 year old non transitioning transgender woman. That means that out in public I cross-dress as a man. I have collar length thick brown hair with natural streaks of grey. Two of our grandchildren go to a grade school 10 miles from where we live. I attended the school's "Grandparents" day alone because my wife isn't retired yet As the grandparents entered the school two students were passing out leaflets explaining the program the kids would put on in the gym. At the entrance to the gym two students were handing each grandmother a single rose. They gave one to me even though I was in drab with no makeup. Sitting in the bleachers holding my rose made this grandmother very happy. Sometimes life hands us a rose............................Leanne

It's a lovely upbeat story!
That said, I love your description of being a non-transitioning transgender woman, and being in drab is "cross-dressing" for you. I love that description, it fits me to a T, thank you for putting it in such succinct terms. The only difference is that I do fairly regularly go out dressed. But mostly, alas, in public I have to cross-dress as a man...

Beautiful story, thanks!:rose2::rose2:
That's such a lovely story. Thanks Leanne. It's making me smile picturing you sitting with your rose. I'll bet the person didn't even realise how much it meant to you.

Leanne,
Beautiful story. You are a special grand parent and a very special person. I love that the children recognized you as a female and presented you with the rose - beautiful.
Best wishes.

Thank you everyone. Isn't it wonderful when someone can tell your true gender? Yesterday, when I was in drab, the young cashier at a convenience store gifted me with a " Thank you Ma'am." ..................Leanne
