View Full Version : Close call at AT&T store

My cell phone finally died yesterday.
It had so many cracks on the screen that it finally wouldn't allow me to log on.
Went to local AT&T store to buy a new phone and hopefully all my contacts and stuff would transfer to it.
My sells rep was a young man who said that it would be hard transferring my contacts because old phone wouldn't start but
he should be able to go into the cloud to retrieve everything else.

My brand new phone was on the table and the first thing that got transferred was my background wall paper. A photo of April.
She looked fantastic taking up the entire screen. The young man said my photos were transferring. He wasn't really paying any attention
to the beautiful lady looking back at him from the phone. He was paying more attention to his laptop. He wasn't looking at me the whole
time so he probably didn't even realize that it was me dressed as a woman. After all who would expect that.
My apps starting transferring and their icons slowly started covering the photo of April. During the whole time I kept talking and asking
him questions to keep him distracted. Just like he said everything got transferred but my contacts.

Later on I was wondering what would of happened if I got the young female sales rep instead.
She would of noticed April and the dress she was wearing.
She would of noticed the perfect makeup, the matching necklace & bracelet, the gold Rolex watch, the diamond studded earrings.
And of course she would of noticed the huge diamond ring on April's finger. Probably figured she was high maintenance.

I was wondering what I would of said if he mentioned the photo.
Probably would of said she was a friend.
If I had the young lady I probably would of told her it was me. Just to see her reaction.

Sorry to disappoint you but a female sales rep is just as likely to not notice as a male rep. If anything, if you really looked that good in the pic, then a male rep would be MORE likely to notice as attractive women tend to catch men’s eye.

As either gender would be a professional in a professional setting, they were extremely unlikely to say anything even if they did notice.

Sounds like your experience drifted into fantasy territory. At any rate, congrats on the new phone.

Why do you care?

Majella is so right, the sales associates are not going to be a factor in your life or social circle!

Why do some fret over small things that don't matter?
I think some actually want the sales person to notice but won't admit it.
Whats going to happen if they do you may ask? Nothing they could care less.

It sounds like you were worrying for no reason at all.

Practice this... "Why thank you, dear. You lie so sweetly," delivered with a big sincere smile.

If it had been me (unlikely as I have no Abbie pics on my phone) I'd have likely outed myself, cos I have a big mouth and no shame. 😁 The first time I bought makeup I told the SA it was for me. Not for any illicit thrill but it made sense since I was looking for something to suit my skin tone.

April,
I can understand your situation , sometimes we can't avoid these circumstances , it's the same with computer problems .

I'm just glad all that is behind me now , last time I had a problem with my phone just took it in as Teresa , the young male sales guy wasn't phased at all .

One question , if it was just the screen why didn't you take it to one of the shops that just do screen replacements , they're all over the UK now .

If picture privacy is what you want, you might want to invest in an actual camera.

When I did my first outing last year, I had some people take pictures of me. A week later or so, I learned to my horror that the pics werea automatically uploaded to a google account. Luckily, they were not published, but it was a bit of a shock.

Still, glad it all went ok, considering.

I have no need to worry about such as I don't keep those things on my phone. :hugs:

My pictures are posted here, so I am not that concerned about what a sales rep sees on my phone.

Maybe he did notice and was making a big effort to appear that he didn't.

All they want to do is service the customer and move on.

Me? I use a cellphone for it's original purpose, making phone calls.

Nothing social on my phone.

I worked in retail photography long enough not to notice the pictures of others, and if you do, don't comment. "Humor is so subjective."

My experience in phone shops has not been great either. They set across from the table from you and just play on their lap tops or I pads till your new phone has everything on it. Then they check you out and tell you come back anytime. I don't keep anything of Jaylyn on my Phone though but do have a lot of fish and deer pictures. The only remark I had once was hey man where did that big bass come from and we then talked fishing till my phone was working again. The young man lobed fishing I guess. That's west Texas for ya.

If someone is concerned about what may be found on their cell phone, perhaps it should not be there. Or their computer too. I'm fairly sure anyone in the business has seen almost anything and everything on a cell phone or a computer hard drive.

I think that April was happy with her experience and just wanted to share it with us.

What if the SA waited until u left and had copied everything off your phone?

Then, he texted ALL your photos to every number on your phone!?

Then, he has your address so went to your home and neighborhood and left copies and put copies of your photos on lamp and telephone poles!!??

Then, sent copies of everything to the FBI/HLS claiming u were an alien spy!!!???

Or, maybe he was texting his friend while copying your info, about getting together after work for beers and pizza and couldn't care less about your stuff?
