Divas is closed

I just found out that Divas in San Francisco closed down on March 30. This is where I made my first public outing. So sad.

Yes, unfortunately, it is now history. The new place is Jolene'(jolenessf.com) on 16th Street in the Mission District. I haven't been there yet but all my friends have. It is a a new LGBTQ+ place for everyone on that spectrum. I will get there soon, hopefully.

I went with my friends for Diva's last night. It was packed, and probably could have stayed open if they had half that many people on a regular basis! Many a time have I tried to hang onto that poole to keep from flying off into the already broken and taped up mirrors!

I went to Divas in January. Fairly sad, 10-12 girls and several guys cruising but respectful. Clearly no investment in the club in several years (decades?). Must have been something in it's prime, though. Jolenes (mentioned above) comes well recommended but is a general queer club, not a TG club like Diva's was. I will also look to check it out next time I go out dressed in the City.
