Kentucky Derby Party

My life has been so awesome lately. I’m out and very open to both of my adult children and over 10 of my best lady friends. I decided to have an impromptu Kentucky Derby party this Saturday and many of them are coming. I ordered a fancy fascinator hat to go with a lovely dress which I’ll wear with full makeup. I already got totally waxed and a mani/pedi last Friday. All of my crew is super supportive and it will be a really fun day. I can’t wait.❤️❤️❤️

Good for you Deedee! I had a fantasy Kentucky Derby party a few years ago and dressed in fancy dress, hose and heels. Just didn't have a hat. Looks like you are going all out. Enjoy!

Living in Kentucky I have been to some big bashes on Derby day.
Went to Anita Madden's famous Derby party one time and met several actors.
Went to Governor John Y Brown's Derby party and met his wife Phyllis George Brown the actress.
Actually went and partied in the infield at Churchill Downs on Derby day.
FYI the hat thing thing on derby day is huge and the whole point is to see who has the biggest most elaborate hat.
Small hats go unnoticed so in order to be authentic get a big hat and put flowers and fruit and other stuff on it.
Bigger the better.

A horse farm near me (Overbrook Farm) won the Derby in 1996 with their horse Grindstone.
My next door neighbor was good friends with the owner W.T.Young and I got to go to the big party at the farm.
W.T was a really nice man very generous too he split the winnings with his employees of his whse company and farm.
2000 was the last year I went to the Derby or bet on the horses.
