I got so many compliments last week at Esprit, but one in particular really stands out to me.

I was standing in line at the bar I had on my new hip pads, forms, skinny jeans, boots, and a cute top that showed off my figure.

There was a GG that was helping with hair in the morning at the fashion show. She comes up to me putting her hand against my thigh maybe an inch or two below my butt and said "You need a skirt about this short.".

I told her I have one that short but don't wear it much.

She looked me straight in the eye and said "Girl, you've got it. Don't be afraid to flaunt it.".

I never felt so validated in my life.

Compliments from women are nice. I’ve received my fair share. My favorite compliments have been from drag queens. You’re talking about girls who do what we do, but professionally, and at the forefront of fashion. Nothing is as validating as having one tell you “OMG you look so good!”

my all time favorite was at a gas station in san diego. I went inside to pay for my gas and probably buy cigarettes, but really i wanted to see if she could read me. She was so normal, took my money, gave me change etc that I was wondering if she was simply being nice (which is already amazing). RADER I could see her in a skirt that short, we had a chat earlier in the day, I complemented her on her ID badge picture and we shared some shape wear gripes as she helped me change my outfit for the second run. I think she being a big girl herself liked the fact that I was too, and I was rocking it. I had the most confidence of all the new girls in the fashion show. Honestly I do like to flaunt it and this really was the place to do it.

Oh, but even better is when she compliments a combo. Saying a dress suits me is nice but I feel genuinely good when she comments that a particular top and skirt go well because that's something I've had to learn. As men we can throw just about anything on and no one gives a crap. But if I have a women's white t-shirt that doesn't EXACTLY match my white skinny jeans then ARGH! Back to the wardrobe. So yeah Wifeling telling me I've done a good job co-ordinating, that's my fave.

During my very first bra fitting at my local bra shop, the shop owner said to me as she came back into the fitting area with an armload of bras to try on, “It is just so nice to work with you because you are so open and confident.” I told her that she is the only person in the world, other than my wife that I have told that I am a crossdresser. I guess it was pretty obvious at that point, as I was standing there, wearing only my brand new Godess bra and forms & my pants, chatting away with her, happy as a clam.

At the end of the fitting I had selected a couple of bras that fit and I really liked and she asked me, “How do you feel about your bras and the fitting today?”, and I replied, “I feel so good about the whole experience and love my new bras!” And she said “That’s all that really matters, isn’t it”. I know she is a good business person and is smart enough to know my money is just as good as any women’s money is, but I felt she was really sincere and I was on a high for a week after that.

I was wearing grey suede boots, a knee length, button front denim skirt, a lavender Henley, a white leather moto jacket with embroidered flowers, my red wig, and daytime make up. Went shopping today, a sales girl came to me twice telling me she loved my hair and skirt. Anytime this happens, it's my favorite comment! Hair was a wine color bob, and the skirt was a basic ankle length maxi with gray and white horizontal stripes. Pink top and sandals.

years ago i used to go the full nine yards and get dressed, when the family would be gone for the weekend (or more). early winter so a cowl neck sweater in deep violet over a gray wool skirt right at the knees, light pecan pantyhose with black heels. my hair (wig) was a dark chestnut and i went all out with my evening makeup and nails and such...

Fairly frequently when dressed in drab (but with glam nails) I get compliments on them, even had a couple call their friends over to have a look, lot of nail envy as mine are strong and don't break.
My wife when I wear a tight fitting skirt says my arse looks amazing in it!
Last time we went out with me fully decked out in short skirt, fitted top, boots, makeover and ombre wig, had a gay guy run over to me, give me a hug and said I looked absolutely fabulous, that was the first time anyone has complimented me while out dressed and felt amazing

I don't go out dressed. Tried it once, whole makeover, professional makeup, etc., and it just didn't do 'it' for me, so I'm not really often in a place to get comments about my dressing.
Having said all that, I have been made to feel very special on one particular occasion.
I was shopping in Goodwill near my work looking for a skirt. Someone must have noticed what I was doing and didn't say anything.
While I was in the changing room, a khaki skirt, still one for my favorites, was laid over the top of the door. It was exactly the size I had been trying on and fit perfectly.
I'll never know who that angel was, but that kind gesture made my day.

Over the years I have been fortunate to receive many compliments. My favorite occurred a few years ago while I was at a "Celebration of Life" event for the boy-friend of my good GW (Lou) friend.

I had visited with a girl-hood friend of Lou's for a fairly long time. As we were preparing to leave Lou's friend asked her if I was the person with whom she did so many things. Lou replied that yes, I was. Lou's friend knew Lou had many gay and "T" friends. She said to Lou Carole is a genetic woman, right? Lou's response was no, but she will be delighted to hear that you think so. Her friend replied well, she sure has all of the mannerisms and speech patterns down pat!

Of course, I was delighted to hear this!

I hope I don't get into trouble for saying this, but the GG that accompanied me when I went to buy my first wig said my boobs looked great. She thought I was wearing my Eyung breat suit, but it was actually the usual empty two-piece bathing suit top I was using for boobs at the time (which some drunken kid called my "fat boobs" when I did my first outing during pride last year).

I've since acquired silicone breast forms which fit the top perfectly and give me that extra weight and jiggle, although it's not how I usually do my boobs anymore.

Sunday I went to Cracker Barrel around 3PM, thinking it wouldn't be too crowded. I went enfemme, with a black skirt and a flowery black and red top. Hired an amazing MUA, bought a new wig in LV, decided to wear a black sheath slightly below the knee dress with my Biancas and as I was walking out of my room I ran into this elderly couple. She complimented me saying I looked so stylish and she loved my outfit, I have yet to master my female voice so when I replied with "thank you" she was clearly surprised.

I loved this compliment because it felt truly genuine and since she was surprised at my voice, it made me feel like I actually did pass at the time.

It was over 40 years ago, from a co-worker that I'd been working with for a couple of years, after I brought in my contributions for the office holiday parties. "It's really to bad you're not a girl, you would have made someone a great wife". She then went on to apologize, saying it wasn't an insult, it was just because I was good at cooking and was so very, very nice (that last was NEVER much of a compliment, always being used as the reason the specific girl likes you but would never see you as a potential mate). It's not so much the words themselves, but the context. On several occasions, I have been stopped in the mall by a completely random woman who just wanted to tell me how nice I looked. It's one thing to be told that by your wife or a S.A., even if she's being truthful. But when a random woman stops what she's doing to tell me I look beautiful, it's a whole nother level of validation and I KNOW I'm doing a good job as a MIAD.

I have a couple. Two years ago on Halloween my wife and I went out to our favorite local Irish Pub. As usual the wait for a table was considerable. Later on I was talking to a member of the band, who I have known for years, and she says that she saw me standing in line for ore than half an hour and didn't recognize me.
