Yes, guilty of that here. Seems a shame to hide the pretty slip all the time. Its only a glimpse, really.

I can let the Oklahoma wind do it all by itself.

I've said this before, I'll say it again. A lady never lets anything show, better to leave something to the imagination.

Whenever I go into an alteration shop, it's usually to shorten a dress so it's just above my knees, and for that I'll usually wear a full slip. It doesn't show when I'm walking or standing (unless, of course, I get one of those winds Bill mentioned!), but a little bit of it usually shows when I sit down, either in a restaurant, a library, or whatever. If you walk past me from the right direction, you might see just the lace edge of it!:D

Lovable Tina,
I really like your style and sense of humour! You look lovely in your dresses. You have very nice posture and great legs. You go girl!
I love a full slip, like the kind my grandmother used to wear. The older silk undergarments were well made and so lacey and feminine. Slips remind me of the glamourous old black and white movies. The leading ladies sometimes wore silk satin dresses, cut on a bias and that would cling and drape gracefully over every curve. To me slips are nostalgic. I like the idea of layering luxurious lightweight fabrics that move with you and swing in a flirtacious way.
I have a tip for you. I believe that slips were originally intended to take away static cling and to give clothing a bit of ease and drape. If the weather is too warm for a slip under your dress or skirt, try using hand lotion directly on your pantyhose or stockings to take away static cling. Before I put on a dress or skirt in the morning I put a bit of moisturizing lotion on my hose and I have no static cling for the rest of the day. Hope that this is helpful.

Good gawd! I must be too old for this group. I think a full ( or even a half ) slip is a very fem thing. Like mentioned before, it was to help with the static cling and to help let the clothes hang better or not to rise up on the body. Also, when you may have a skirt or dress that is a bit sheer, it would help hide under shadows, which were a bit embarrasing back then. There are some rather lovely and very feminine slips out there. I wouldn't think of wearing a dress or skirt without one on. But then, I must be a grandmaw. Hehehe!

No slips for me, but I am guilty of lifting my skirts or dresses up to reveal stocking tops and garters:D

Why wear a slip. I don't want to hide all the goodies under the skirt.Nothing sexier than nice sexy panties, stockins and a garter belt.

Yes , I plead guilty to sometimes showing a little bit of lace. I nearly always wear a slip, either full or a 1/2 slip. I often show quite a lot of lace when I'm driving in a skirt and slip, one of my favourite slips is a white 1/2 slip with a 4" lace hem and when I drive my skirt seems to ride up and my slip shows a little, sometimes a lot. Even more of it shows when I get out of the car and I always try to remember to keep my knees together.
The other day I was getting out of my car wearing that slip under a knee length skirt and I saw an old man sitting on a bench opposite me. He saw my slip, his eyes just fixed on me as I got out of the car. I was wearing pantyhose that day and my knees didin't stay as close together as they should have and I am sure the old boy (he must have been about 75) nearly fell off the seat staring at my slip and thighs. I went back to my car after only 10 minutes deliberately and he was still there so shamelessly I gave hime another eyeful of slip and thigh as I got back into my car. I think he enjoyed it because as I drove away he smiled and waved at me!!
Hugs

I guess I'm from the old school. My age tells me that! When I was growing up all girls and women wore slips ( and horrors of horrors, girdles, too!)
When I dress I don't think I could stand not wearing a lovely slip or half-slip. I never wear pants so slips are a must with just a suggestion of hem-line showing so it looks accidental. Mmmm! Yummy!

I almost always wear a half slip
It normally show when I sit or if my skirt has a side slit
It can be quite a sexy site to see a woman in a bra and half slip.
I expect its because of the wondering is she or isn't she wearing stockings
