Or so it would seem.

So my 25 members of my wife's family are coming over for a surprise b'day party for her aunt today. Last night, sitting on the couch, talking about plans for the day, my wife gets a mischievous look in her eyes. She and her sister are always pulling gags, have a running joke or two going, etc. So my my turns to me and asks if I've seen any of their (her and her sis's) recent e-mail correspondence. Well I had seen a coupla e-mail subject lines such as "toxic perfume" and "family secrets," but hadn't read any. Well, it would seem I've been the subject of their latest hyginx (sp?). They've been dishing e-mails back 'n forth about how I prance around in my wife's lingere while she's out of the house, how it's the only way I can get it up, and how my wife had invited our parish priest over to have an intervention with me.:eek: (for the record... only the first one of those is true:p ). Well, as you can imagine, I could've died then n there. Imagine the thoughts running through my head. Then, she asks me to allow her and her sister to "catch me" dressed in a negligee later today at the party. Being a bit of a jokester myself, I agree, so long as it's just the two of them, upstairs away from the others.

Now, I'm sure 99% of you are thinking either: "yeah right, and I won the title of Ms. Arkansas last month" or "of course she knows, you stupid git." I swear on a stack of Bibles I'm not trolling here, and furthermore, that my wife doesn't know for real (I guess you'd have to know her to understand). They just happen to have made up a great true fiction.

I'll let ya know how it went, if logistics permit anything at all.

As some of you know, I've been looking forward to an opportunity to come out to my wife (not her whole extended family though). This would seem to be an obvious, and good time to do so. I thought the better of it last night though. In case it hadn't gone well, with all that family coming over, today could've become very ugly. That said, the door has been opened wide, and expect it won't be too long before I walk through it.

What is the chance that your wife already has her suspicions - even if they be at a subconscious level? That this is nothing more that the odd coincidence just seems to unlikely.

I think Donna has a point, and the door is open, you just need to pick the right time to walk through it. The aunts surprise party might not be the best opportunity. Geesh. I would be crushed to know I was the subject of the emails considering you are still not "out".

I think I would want a chat about it with my wife first just to find out where she really stands on all this before doing anything. Of course every relationship has its own dynamics so only you can judge that. Regardless, I would be cautious but optimistic.

I agree that a large family gathering isn't the place to try to pull this off. However after the party you could tell your wife the idea sounded kinda playful and that you could be bribed to amuse them.....;)

Which is the fiction, and which is the truth?

If the wife doesn't know about tammi, then why would her and her sister come up with this particular "joke"?

And, who is the joke to be played on? Tammi? The sister? or the wife? What would be the point of the joke if they have all three set it up before hand?

Why do I have a picture of tammi being exposed to someone other that the three members of the "in group"? And wouldn't a family gathering like this be the most inopportune time to reveal ones self?

just my opinion, of course, but I see nothing good coming from this.........

This is a splendid opportunity for you, on multiple levels.

If nothing else, you can have fun with this, and your "real, real" self can stay in the closet.

But, another opportunity (the best one IMHO) is that afterward, after the gang has all departed, you could shyly mention to her that the event was kind of a kick. And, strange as it may seem :), you kind of get off wearing girls' clothes. If it happens -- and we all hope it does -- that the opportunity to have this conversation is post-coital, well, so much the better.

You don't have to immediately come "out" to her w.r.t. the past, if you don't want to. You can just draw a line in the sands of time and confess that you've discovered this kink you'd kind of like to explore. She started it; how can she not be game?

Another possibility, even more delicious, is that this is all an elaborate stunt to get you to come out in a super comfortable way, because she already knows or maybe just suspects. I think this is the scenario that Jodie-Lynn is concerned about, but for me, this alternative is also extremely positive. She is staging an elaborate charade in order for you to clear the air with her; unless she's truly a monster (the one negative alternative) and hopes to humiliate you at the big moment, she's doing this out of love. Reading between the lines of your posts, the monster alternative doesn't sound very likely.

Go for it, darlin! As I see it, there's virtually no downside!

And Tammi, if you didn't have 1,239 posts to your credit, most interesting and inciteful, we would suspect you of being a serious troller!

I can see one very big downside here. If she really ends up having a real problem accepting this, a big part of her anger will be towards herself cause she will partially blame herself for "making her husband a CDer" (speaking from experience here). I think this opportunity would be a good doorway to coming out (which you should do!!), but dont try to lay any of it on her, approach with a more "this is something that I've always done" angle, definetly not a "well after you dressed me up, now i wanna be a CDer!".

after all, wouldn't it still be lying to your wife?, and isn't that what almost all GGs say is the biggest problem when its revealed, not so much the action, but the months or decades of hiding it?.

Thank you all for your thoughts, suggestions and concerns. I know it sounds implausible that neither my wife nor my sister-in-law suspects anything, but prior to todays events, and after I still believe it to be true.


Anyway, it was about time for my sister-in-law and her family to leave for another engagement. I arranged with my wife for her to come upstairs and into our bathroom, with her sister. The master bathroom is rather large, and L-shape, so I moved next to the shower, where I wasn't visible to them right away (though I could see their reflections in a window). I had moved our boom box in there and had "MAN! I Feel Like a Woman" playing.

So they both came in and saw me doin a little dance to Shania in a lovely black body briefer slip (I had bought my wife years ago) and black hose. We all though it was a hoot... until i hear my neice calling for her mom and entering the open door of the room, and I begin to wonder who else might be in line behind her. I semi-freak, jumping into the shower, fortunately before she saw anything. The last thing I wanted was a 15 year old girl blabbing about her uncle to any and everyone else in the family.

At first I thought my wife was fu***ing with me and had invited who all knows who to see the show. As it turns out, my wife had simply left the door open behind her :mad: and the neice was just looking for her mom. So, not too much damage done, and a bit of a laugh had by the three of us (wife, her sis n me).

What I meant to say was that I had decided not to come out to my wife last night about my real, long-time dressing. I'm relieved to hear you say this. I'd be verrrrrrrry careful about anything of the sort, if I were you. Chances are, if she thinks all of this is funny, that makes her feel safe about something like that. Joking about something and being confronted with it as truth can be two completely different things.
