I have always loved David Bowie, more than any other artist, he was a role-model, with a colorful mind, an open gender attitude and above all he made great music. Heroes was always my favorite song. One day, long ago, I went to the movies and saw Christiane F, wir kinder from bahnhofzoo, about a young girl with a heroin-addiction. The music is all Bowie-songs and there is even a performance of Station to station in the film. This was also the first time that I heard him sing heroes in German (Helden). I am not German, I am Dutch, and I don’t particularly like the German language, but this version really stunned me. I have always remembered it and now I have recorded my own German version of Heroes. In my youth I always wanted to be a member of the Bowie-band, now I am the Bowie-band. Hope you like it.
