Who loves the song "I Enjoy Being A Girl" from Flower Drum Song? If you're not familiar with it you have to YouTube it. It's wonderful! I nominate it for the Crossdressers Anthem. Any other nominees?

"I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story (1957) expresses my feelings perfectly.

My song was always Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee from the Greese soundtrack.

Or a little more recent the theme song from New Girl but I sing "It's me!" at the end.

Nor me, dressed or undressed.

Throw off your chains of reason and your prison disappears.

Patience,
Almost added the undressed part myself.

I think "your" should be "those" but Dionysus Bringer of Love is another good crossdressing song.

I remember the first time I really listened to the lyrics of "Let It Go" from Frozen...kinda fit I thought.

Broken & Beautiful (from Ugly Dolls) has been my anthem lately, just reading the lyrics makes me tear up every time.

Closer to the point how about "Don't stick stickers on my paper nickers" by Katina also by Delilah both these versions are on Youtube. The Delilah bversion I think is the original, released in about 1978 but good to listen to.

The Shania Twain Man I feel like a woman song I don't see where it has anything to do with crossdressing.
"Men shirt short skirts" is not remotely the same. She is still presenting as female.
How it could be an anthem for CDing makes no sense to me.
You will have to explain to me because I just don't see it.

Some more I contributed elsewhere...

Dude Looks Like a Lady - Aerosmith
Cherry Lips - Garbage
Arnold Layne - Pink Floyd
Something to Do - Depeche Mode
Annabel - Goldfrapp

- - - Updated - - -

The others I'd mentioned have already been cited here, but...
Can't believe I'd forgotten the Who.

Used to think it was funny as hell that my dad used to listen to the Kinks, including Lola. My sis, mother, and I had caught him crossdressed! 😁

- - - Updated - - -

Personally my Anthem is probably Wrong by Depeche Mode. Story of my damn life. Lol

My personal favorite “snippet” of a song is in the Beatles’ Ob La Di Ob La Da when towards the end it goes “Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face...”. No idea if this was a hat tip to the British crossdressers of the day or not but it makes me smile :)

Robertacd

Tracii, because the chorus is "Man I feel like a woman". My anthems are very similar.

Not so much about crossdressing per se, but more about just feeling feminine.

Hell-o All,
Can’t help but see this is pretty much all but forgetting we have some brothers that don’t care much for “feelin like a woman”.
Yes, there are plenty of songs that have been produced to keep the majority of us here happy, but a dedicated CD’er anthem is gonna have to be ALL inclusive.

My Offering..

I'm surprised that so far, no one has yet mentioned "Take a Walk on the Wildside" by Lou Reed, "Rebel, Rebel" by David Bowie, "I'm Coming Out" by The Supremes, or even "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga. I also think that "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper in many ways encapsulates our envy of "girl world" and why we want to experience it vicariously the way we do.

On the other hand, we can't take ourselves too seriously either, and I've always gotten a kick out to Bob Rivers' "Twisted Christmas" parody of "Winter Wonderland" entitled "Walking 'Round in Women's Underwear". Who among us can't relate to that (insert honorable mention of the "The Lumberjack Song" by the Monty Python crew here)...LOL!

Flower Drum Song is a favorite of mine. And what a wonderful song! But more than that, it was the video it accompanied which made me watch it over and over again during my more dysphoric years. I Enjoy Being a Girl (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEW_nXwWvd4).

As a fan of classic film, here are a couple more nominees, sure to satisfy anyone's dysphoria:

From the film Silk Stockings, a scene with Cyd Charrise (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GG3b2l0-5IY). No words, but her actions speak for themselves. It helps if you understand the character a little bit. Silk Stockings(1957) is a musical remake of the 1939 film Ninotchka, with Greta Garbo. Charrise plays Garbo's title character role as an oppressed & suppressed Russian agent, on assignment in Paris. In this scene, she finally succumbs to her more feminine desires; the video says it all. It helps if you watch the entire film. It's even in color, for you B&W-phobes. :)

Another classic, from 1963(also in color), is a scene from Bye Bye Birdie, with Ann Margaret.
How Lovely To Be A Woman (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJH09n11Ggc)

Searching for that video, I came across a version that's a little more #metoo:thumbsup::

Reading another thread (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?266133-At-birth I was struck by how many of us struggle to some extent or other with our CDing.
I was reminded of the lyrics to the Depeche Mode song 'Suffer Well' (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SsKyxkfj8ak).
Now I'm not saying that this song is about crossdressing per se, but considering it was written by Martin Gore, who wrote 'Something to Do' which assuredly IS about crossdressing and that Gore appears in the Suffer Well video in a wedding dress, well, it's easy to make the lyrics fit.
Check it out, see if you agree. :)

My, my - aren't we touchy?

Sorry I missed the Lou Reed reference in your earlier post. On the other hand, unlike you, I took the trouble to cite an actual David Bowie song as opposed to just throwing out a general reference to him the way you did. I call it a draw...

Shania Twain - Man! I Feel Like A Woman!
Yes! She has a couple that always made me feel girly all over.

I've got a small playlist on the computer I sometimes play when getting femmed up. Most of them are just upbeat songs that I like, and associate with being en femme. The only real CD tune on there is "Dude looks like a lady" by Aerosmith. However I discovered this little gem from a TV advert, and found, to my surprise, I had this on the B side of a 12" single I bought years ago.

Wow, I have a number of the songs listed here on my phone. A few I don?t play in front of my wife, like Rebel, Rebel. Only the older folks are likely to know this song. It?s not about cross dressing at all, but the lyrics touch me to the core with regards to the emotional toll of a DADT relationship. I am not an emotional person at all , but I can?t listen to the lyrics of this song without coming to tears. Neal Young - Only love can break your heart. It?s very simple, but wow does it speak to me. Like this part - someone should call him and see if he can come out, try to lose the down that he?s found.
