So the nail salon I frequent didn't have any openings. There is a salon closer to me that advertises being lgbtq+ friendly and accepts everyone.

The owners knows about me, I reached out to her before but didn't end up coming because they stopped doing pedicures. But I really wanted my fingers done so I booked an appointment. Now I've been really out now, I present as nonbinary but obviously make, but had on shorter shorts a unisex top and women's sandals.

Turns out only 2 girls work there and they are besties. Had a fantastic time chatting, shows them tons of pics of Chelsi, my puppy, my wife, etc. We ended up talking past their closing time, super nice girls and became friends instantly. And the girl that did my nails did a great job!

I'm glad i stopped caring about stares :)

I'm not surprised by your experience, since I've found people in the beauty industry to be very supportive and enthusiastic. But what I find interesting is a nail salon that doesn't do pedicures! I'm pretty sure toes are more than half the business in the salons I've visited. They are seriously limiting their clientele and profit potential by not offering that service. Did they ever tell you why they made that decision?

The salon I used to go to also got out of doing feet. Their big money is hair and pedicure stations take up a ton of space.
