I've one hell of a thick beard (God's joke on me... I know, ha ha, but laughing not!) To shave my face completely smooth has always been my number one problem - even more so that makeup is just about the most important thing for me, to recreate myself glamour-girl beautiful.

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, after extensive research, I bought a Panasonic Vortex electric, wet-dry, self-cleaning razor and am here to tell you all IT IS AMAZING!!! It gives by far the closest shave I've ever had, whether straight edge or electric. I use it after a long, hot shower, and then with just enough shaving cream to lubricate my skin. NEVER HAVE I HAD A SHAVE LIKE THIS! And so fast... not to mention an amazing self-cleaner that refreshes the razor as if brand new after every use! It's a bit expensive, about $120, but well worth it! Can't really recommend this razor enough!!! It's a godsend!

I never thought I would get a closer shave with an electric razor, but I do, for the most part.

My mom bought me this $200 Braun electric shaver for x-mas. I have never gotten a closer, smoother shave on my upper lip and chin. It is amazing. I can't feel ANY hair left. With my Mach3 or Quattro I always got SOME amount of stubble. This leaves me smooth, smooth, smooth.

However, I can't get the same results on my neck. I get a cleaner shave on my neck with a Mach3.

I do have the braun shaver and it works great without knicking you. haven't used it in like a year because I needed a new blade (which they didn't seem to carry in most stores) and found replacement blades at walmart about a week ago.

Electric razors (including the Panasonic) always give me horrable razor burn.:(
