I would love to pack a week worth of Denise and go on a vacation. Not alone but Just girls like us. A cruise maybe?? a city , a resort. Is there a package out there to be the girl of your dreams . Getting SPA treatments, diner, dancing sun bathing. Would love to wear a one piece suit in public. I really don't have and RT friends that share the same interest as me . It would be so liberating being a woman for a week..

There is a several day long social event held in near Seattle every year. I think they call it something like Esprit Weekend. Their also is one on Lake Michigan near or in Saugatuck, Michigan near the Indiana border, Spring Fling. They may also do one there in the Fall too. There is the Divas Las Vegas event in Las Vegas once a year too and another one with social and seminar events in Atlanta, Georgia I think. Anyway, just do some creative Googling and I would bet that you will find several more too.
Good luck and happy hunting,
Allie

As Allie said there are several organized CD/TG events that happen all over the place.
Esprit (https://www.espritconf.com/)is put on by the Seattle and Vancouver BC clubs, but takes place in a little town on the Washington peninsula.

There is a CD travel agency in Florida that arranges day cruises and outings. But I think it is only in FL. They are based out of Tampa and there are plenty of CD friendly places there like Ybor City. Second link is Tampa/Ybor info.

Google Rainbow Resort in PA. (Not far from you)
There are two weekends a year that are advertised for the CD/TG community. The next one is the weekend of May 15 to 17. Since I discovered this, I have made almost all of them. NEVER disappointed. And, they have a pool if you are dead set on hanging around in a bathing suit. Excellent food and incredibly friendly staff. As my first time out enfem to anybody, anywhere, I was extremely surprised at how quickly I became comfortable. I was eating alone when I was approached by one of "us" and invited to join a table of about 12. I never ate alone after that for the entire weekend.
And last year, I also went to their Halloween affair. That was incredible. Fantasy fulfilled!
Highly Recommend!!
BTW: CD/TG people are welcome anytime of the year, not just the designated weekends.

Take a look at Conventions as well. First Event, Keystone, Southern Comfort, Esprit, and the Erie Gala are but a few of the large gatherings that take place around the country every year. Search the names and learn more.

I would think the Keystone Conference is in Harrisburg Pa the end of March, that would be a very good event for you to attend.

I have also heard of cruses tailored to TG/CD. A quick Google found quite a few mentions of Carnival Cruse Lines being CD/TG friendly in general.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Fantasia Fair in Provincetown.
Southern Comfort Conference isn't happening this year, but The Paradise Conference will be happening in Atlanta this fall. http://theparadiseconference.org

Denise, I know that I am in the UK, but I just googled "cd/tvoluntary holidays", and got loads of hits, many of them in the USA. Although based this side of the pond Offline holidays organise many vacations and cruises centred on the USA. Good searching.

Denise ,
I do recall a member relating a story of a TG/CD friendly cruise , the problem was it appeared it wasn't friendly at all , the staff made some situations very difficult . I believe the cruise company was based in Florida .
There have been stories of members on open cruises and encountered no problems at all , I've cruised several times but in male mode so it's on my bucket list to do one as Teresa but I'm not looking for a special event for the TG community I'm more than happy to be just one of the fare paying passengers . I can understand the need for safety in numbers but that issue doesn't bother me .
I feel there comes a point when the segregation has to stop , I mean that from both sides , acceptance will happen more if we stop saying or showing we are different .

I have to agree with Teresa here, I mean I get the whole "safety in numbers" thing. But if I only went out to organized CD/TG events I could only go out once or twice year unless I traveled all over the country.

Wow....were the complete 1,000 crossdressers? Does that also include spouses? Admirers?

I would LOVE to attend something for a few days, but my (currently) horrible makeup skills would mean I'd need someone to help every morning and evening to feel good about myself.

The actual number I believe is about 1300 to 1400 registered people. I believe the majority are transgender persons (mostly MTF) but they were spouses, vendors and allies. It?s always a safe place. Not sure if there were admirers since it?s not the purpose. Go to http://firstevent.org/ and check it out. Next one is keystone in Harrisburg PA.

I too wonder where all of them were. I saw about 400 at the same place once (the Gala Dinner). It seems many come and go to specific activities. The hotel was full and you could see a couple of us walking around Boston, shopping, dining, etc...

Sephora was doing free makeovers and classes. We are all learning all the time.

On the surface a lot of these events sound fun but it is tempered by my experience - I have found a lot of cross dressers like to congregate purely for the sexual aspect. I realise that this is not always the case (as demonstrated by the fine people here on this forum) but at this point in my life I find far more enjoyment mingling with the muggles. Of course, in my favour I am completely at ease with my feminine presentation, something that I acknowledge is not universal.

I know there is a spa in Portland, Oregon that does ‘transformation retreats’. A CD person can go there, even with no CD stuff of their own, and get glammed up by a professional makeup artist, borrow or buy several outfits, hang out with other CD’s in a safe place on a quiet urban cul-de-sac, with dining and relaxation options at the spa. Go into the town on ‘field trips’, for shopping and social dining, at known-safe / accepting places, with others from the spa. They had several package deals that ran sort of like an Air B&B overnight or weekend getaway, up to a week-long stay, but with lots of CD related services and pampering. Never got around to going there myself, but their website’s descriptions sounded great! Similar places exist in many cities.

That, and money, have always been my concern about attending conferences and get togethers. Especially since I would want to take my wife, and I don't think the sexual aspect of some others' behavior will help my cause, though I believe that she's smart enough to understand it's just a small slice of the population attending.

Denise, you have to enter Diva las Vegas in the advanced search box, upper right corner. I've been twice, 2018 and '19, and I'm going again in a couple of months. See 'A whole new world, now', my comments on my first Diva Las Vegas trip.

Allison:
About money: some of the conferences have different packages and even scholarships, so you can always find a combination that works for you.
About the sexual aspect: I guess it depends on the conferences you attend and the people you approach, and what you are looking for in attending. In my experience, I have never encountered those engaged in sexual behavior, maybe because the people I approach, or because the conferences I attend tend to be more serious (which does not mean stuff like that does not happen; in fact I have heard once of that kind of stuff happening, and I would not have known if someone did not tell me). Wives are welcome, and even have their own support groups. Both my wife and my mother (yes! my mother!) have been to conferences with me with no problems. In the one event I just came from, I met the wife of one of my CD/TG friends and she was so cool about it.
I liked these events since I got to be free in a controlled environment, and I got to venture out in the real world in friendly places. I don't get many opportunities to let out my female persona freely in my regular environment, so these are great places to do it. In my particular case and thanks to these events, later on, I got to be out enfemme very confidently and blended comfortably in the mainstream. I attend also because I made many friends, and love to see them.

Hi all,
I need to update my last posting about the Rainbow Resort. Apparently the resort has discontinued the twice a year CD/TG weekend. Instead they are going to four a year...once per season. The next one is April 24-26. The summer weekend is probably going to be in June, but, the date hasn't been set yet.
If you go to their website you can checkout the calendar. They say that all their events, and everything in between, are CD/TG friendly. And, that has been my experience.
Give it a try. I can only imagine what my life would be like if I hadn't taken that first trip there.
