I have been getting my hair cut for a while in a little hairdresser run by two sixty-something twins. Both of them flirt with me and I usually get a glass of Sekt whenever I go. I went skiing with one of them a couple of weeks ago and I sometimes take them both out for a drink and a bite to eat when they finish in the evening. I think they like being with a smart reasonable looking Englishman in a suit. I've shown them pictures of myself in a frock and today, they told me they are having a Faschings party in the salon next tuesday and I am invited. They told me I should come as a woman. It's quite normal for men to dress up at Fasching I believe, so I think I'll give it a go. Hopefully, it'll be a lot of fun. I won't even need to be pretend to be a woman. I just need to figure out what to wear.

In response to requests for a follow up, I have a confession to make: I went as my normal man self. Sorry to disappoint everybody but the two ladies decided it would be best if I didn't come dressed up, especially as their two daughters would be there. In fact, as it turned out, it was a very small party indeed. And in all honesty, by the time it came round, I was relieved.

However, not to disappoint everybody completely, I had to get my fix somehow. So I went out on the Saturday evening afterwards into the centre of town. Nothing new there, except that a lady stopped me (it was very busy) and asked to take my picture. I asked her what she thought of me, a man dressed as a woman and she kept saying, "super, super, super". So I guess I know for sure that I had no chance of passing. But I'm not sure that matters; I kind of felt like a celebrity anyway. Moreover, before she left, I asked her to take one of me with my own camera. It's attached. I can certainly see now why nobody could mistake me for a woman!!!

On showing the photo to my other half, she assured me it's now somewhere on Facebook. I never thought of that. But who cares?

I have not heard the term Fasching since I left Germany in 1974. Wow did it bring back memories

Any gathering where there is an opportunity to dress is always a lot of fun.

Especially if they know who it is......

Yes, I can imagine it is actually Beverley. If one has the courage to do it. And I imagine you have to like being the centre of attention.
