Dressing up
04-14-2020, 09:46 AM
1) When did you start dressing?
Hmm, age 8? I can't remember not desiring to be more feminine.

2) At what age did you pick your name?
When I signed up here, I was 40 something at that time.

3) why did you pick that name ?
I was scared about anonymity when I joined here.

4) Are you married, single ect?
Currently single.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
All, 2 wives, and every girl friend was told early in relationship about my CD. Almost universal acceptance although the unspoken communication gave me varying levels of comfort.

6) When did you tell them?
Early in relationship when I felt we both were committed to staying together.

7) How did that work out ( the telling)
Only on GF had negative reaction, we broke up a month later.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
I do feel I never was honest to myself about where I see this going, therefore, I could not be totally honest with my SO.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
I like to fit in, that means casual style most of the time.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
This site has given me confidence to be myself and get on with life.

11) Favorite place to shop?
JCPenny.com, they have good prices and large selection of woman's tall. I fear they will go bankrupt soon.

12)Have you purged?
Yes, during my last divorce, really was no need to. But in retrospect, much of my stuff was old and not my style, so it does not bother me.

13) If so did you regret it?
No, I learned to adopt a style and find places to shop, wardrobe is better than ever.

14) Any advice to new cders?
Read this forum, understand that the regrets of older CDers will be yours as well some day. The good news is, you can avoid those regrets today.
Also, get out of any relationship that is non-accepting if you can.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
Yes, I know it is a personal item and I am reluctant to borrow.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
A more feminine look either if I am in drab of en-femme.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
My family does not know, we are geographically spread, but I think my sisters would be fine with my gender expression.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
Only on GF was disgusted. I was quite surprised since she espoused a ultra-liberal social view on all things LGBQT. You

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
A vacation with a GF where we strolled a big city dressed, tourist sites, dinner and conversation with locals. Then out of the blue, she pulled me into a MAC store to get me a better foundation. So much fun.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
I wish everyone could separate gender and sexuality. I am more sexually conservative than most people I know, but revealing CD often evokes thoughts of sexual deviance in folks.

Asew

Started dressing in 8th grade.
Made my name in 8th grade, though at the time I only used it for video game characters.
The name was based on the name of a girl I liked.
I am married.
My wife knows.
I told my wife a little over 2 years ago.
My wife has accepted it.
Probably wouldn't change anything as I am in a good enough place now.
For myself, I love skirts (and pair them with anything) and some dresses. Though some styles I like on women I don't like to wear personally, took a bit of trying to figure this out.
I would like you to know we are always here for you.
I love to shop at thrift stores, tons of variety and great prices. Torrid is my favorite first hand retailer.
I purged a couple times in my teens and 20s.
I regret the purges a little bit.
Accept this side of you. Though most that are on these forums are most likely already there.
I have tried makeup and I don't like it so I don't ever wear makeup.
I strive to be able to dress as I wish always. Mostly there.
I have no one left to tell.
No bad reactions coming out.
Going out with my family and always being treated as normal.
I think my loved ones understand it pretty well. Initially my mom thought it was more like wearing kilts when it was more than that as she now knows.

Di,
Nice idea :-

1) It chose me at the age of 8-9.
2) I chose my name because I needed one for the forum , so glad I did as it's made things a whole lot easier.
3) Purely by accident as the forum accepted it , now I use Terri instead of Terry .
4) Married for 45 years now half way through the divorce .
5) Everyone knows now .
6) I came out twenty years ago in my forties.
7) OK for about two weeks then the DADT wall went up .
8) Tough question , looking back the damage was obvioulsy done when I came out so maybe we should have agreed to separate then .
9) I guess I try to be the girl next door , being full time to me means integrating into society , I also feel we need to consider age , to a certain extent .
10) I've probably worn my heart on my sleeve for too long , there isn't much left to tell .
11) I just love to shop face to face in retail stores , online does nothing for me , I'd miss the fun with the SAs .
12) Never purged , when the need is 24/7 there isn't much point .
13) N/A
14) Is there really a new Cder ? It's about accepting yourself which for many goes right back to being born ,for a man it's the hardest part admitting it .
15) I now do my makeup everyday , I don't mind as it's part of my identity now .
16) I assume it's goals and not a bucket list but my goal would be acceptance from my son as he's now one of the few who's never seen me along with my mother . Bucket list would be a cruise as Teresa .
17) No one left to tell , which feels good .
18) Coming out back in my forties lead to almost ending my life . Now I'm free to be Teresa over the last two years not a single bad reaction .
19) The best time must be rejoing my painting group as Teresa last September , that's when I really found normality .
20) Because I prefer not to appear male anymore , I wish they could understand I'm still a good person in fact I feel I'm a better person which they could be missing out on .

Thanks Di .

1) When did you start dressing?
10 or 11
2) At what age did you pick your name?
Never did (except for this forum in 2017 but that's utilitarian).
3) why did you pick that name ?
Forum name was I think a reference to Diana Rigg.
4) Are you married, single ect?
Married
5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
Yes
6) When did you tell them?
In 2019, after 36 years together (met in high school)
7) How did that work out ( the telling)
Very hard for my wife, she can't understand it (but tries very hard) and is turned off by the news. We are struggling, but there's love.
8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
Would have told earlier
9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
Straight/tight office or evening attire
10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
The way I dress has no bearing over my view of women and femininity. I dress my way and women dress theirs, everyone is free and I couldn't care less!
11) Favorite place to shop?
Online. I don't go out so no brick and mortar for me!
12)Have you purged?
Never had much to purge, so, no.
13) If so did you regret it?
Not applicable
14) Any advice to new cders?
Don't be ashamed, it's just you. Tell your SO.
15) Do you do your own makeup?
Yes
16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
Nothing special, try to be myself, which includes infrequent venturing in female presentation.
17) Anyone you would like to tell?
My close relatives so my wife could vent. No need to bother friends with it.
18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
Only came out to my wife.
19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
Every time is special. First time standing up with heels was a shock (something to do with utter transgression or the fact I could not pass doors anymore).
20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
My crossdressing doesn't change my love for my wife. When I don't I am (and enjoy being) 100% her man. And she's the only real thing as far as femininity goes!

1) When did you start dressing? 12

2) At what age did you pick your name? 36

3) Why did you pick that name? Not sure. It just felt right. (although Lee is my real middle name)

4) Are you married, single, etc.? Married

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? Yes

6) When did you tell them? 2003-2004 (After I came to terms it wasn't just only a Halloween thing any longer; reflected on my youth & realized it wasn't going away)

7) How did that work out (the telling) At first she was okay with it 1-2 times / week. Then... out of nowhere, it wasn't. It was a "perverted" & "disgusting" thing I was doing. Enter DADT, although she does see when/if I dress on Halloween. (which she I know she hates)

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? Buy stock in Amazon :D. See #17. Following through on the challenge a girlfriend laid out about coming out to my best friend/neighbor Halloween 2012... and seeing if she was right. :daydreaming:

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? A lot... but I'm a sucker for a retro style dress with a full skirt. :)

10) What is something that you would like us to know about you? I identify as gender-fluid and pansexual

11) Favorite place to shop? Online, Express, Macy's or Penny's. If I were younger.. A&F, Hollister, Pac Sun

12) Have you purged? Unfortunately... pics, clothing and shoes

13) If so, do you regret it? Yep, Yep, Yep

14) Any advice to new CDrs? Don't purge, don't use cheap make-up, and just buy the good breast forms.

15) Do you do your own makeup? Yes

16) What things do you strive for (goals) Learning to contour and blend, develop a softer voice so that I can pass & hang out with friends outside my house.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? :whistling:Y Maybe.....

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? Not yet.

19)The best time (so far) you have had dressed? Having a girls night with my sister. Spending the evening talking, drinking wine, and modeling clothes & sharing clothes.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? This is part of my make-up/being. I can't change. Any attempt to do so only puts my mental health at risk.

1) When did you start dressing?
I guess I was ten, unfortunately.

4) Are you married, single etc?
Single, and I have no plans to change that.

None at the moment, but I would prefer to get rid of it if I were to be in a relationship like that.

6) When did you tell them?
N/A

1) When did you start dressing? Around 7 or 8 I think. It was a long time ago and really sporadic.

2) At what age did you pick your name? 45

3) why did you pick that name ? I’ve always loved Eastern European names

4) Are you married, single ect? Married. 2nd wife one kid

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? Yes

6) When did you tell them? The day we reconnected. I knew her in high school, lost track, reconnected.

7) How did that work out ( the telling). First she thought I was gay. So far it’s worked out ok after that I guess.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? I would have been more honest with myself at a younger age. But hindsight is 20/20.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? Yes. I would classify it as modern chic

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you? I’m an introverted extrovert. I love people. I believe we as a species are capable of amazing things when we allow ourselves to.

11) Favorite place to shop? Nordstrom

12)Have you purged? Yes. Several times

13) If so did you regret it? Not a bit. My style has changed over time and I would have gotten rid of those items anyway. Some, not all where bought in haste, some where bought when I first started out and where gawdawful. What I regret is the wasted money.

14) Any advice to new cders? Live YOUR best life not someone else’s

15) Do you do your own makeup? Yes. Not much. Once you figure out what you want to present it’s pretty simple to have a trimmed down supply.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ? To be the best version of me I can be.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? No. Not really. All the important people know already. Running around telling be now would seem pointless and self serving.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? Only to the pocket book

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed? Every time I go shopping with my wife.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? Not that I can think of. Nobody has ever really asked me anything really out there or not been accepting that I know of.

1) When did you start dressing? The very first time that I fully dressed, was actually quite a few years ago, back in 2005, I think..... I was married at the time and really only did it that once because my now ex-wife did not like that at all.

2) At what age did you pick your name? 36

3) why did you pick that name ? In my honest opinion, Kimberly is a very beautiful name, (all female names are LOL), plus it also has a lot to do with my crush on the actress, Amy Jo Johnson, who portrayed the first Pink Power Ranger, and her character's name was Kimberly.

4) Are you married, single ect? Single

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? N/A

6) When did you tell them? N/A

7) How did that work out ( the telling) N/A

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? I only wish I could've started dressing a lot sooner.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? Not particularly..... I like to experiment with different styles.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you? N/A

11) Favorite place to shop? Walmart

12)Have you purged? Yes..... A couple of years ago, I was fully dressing but only at home and I did not get out dressed at all. Due to religious reasons, I purged EVERY bit of my feminine things, (wigs, clothes, shoes, makeup, etc.) except for my hosiery. I felt miserable after I did that and around Halloween last year, I decided to go back to dressing because it feels like it's who I'm supposed to be.

13) If so did you regret it? Yes

14) Any advice to new cders? Be true to yourself.

15) Do you do your own makeup? Yes

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ? Coming out as a CD'er to a few friends; I haven't done that yet.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? Yes, a close friend who lives in California.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? N/A

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed? When I went to see a movie before the pandemic, because that was the longest that I've stayed at one place at a time while dressed and a lot of people saw me.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? N/A

This could be enlightening. Thank you for the opportunity to share and to learn more of others here, Di!

1) When did you start dressing?
The first time I remember was trying on my mother's panties. I'm not certain of the age, but I'd guess around 5 or 6.

2) At what age did you pick your name?
That came much later. I'd guess around age 40.

3) why did you pick that name ?
I wanted a female name for an online presence. Having such a female name has not been terribly important to me otherwise. I don't have much of a female persona - I simply feel compelled to express some femininity in my dress.

4) Are you married, single etc.?
I've been married since I was a teenager 40-odd years ago.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
Yes.

6) When did you tell them?
I told her while we were dating in high school.

7) How did that work out ( the telling)?
At the time she said it "didn't matter," but some months after we married she decided that it did. She would no longer accept or tolerate my dressing. She has said that my wearing women's clothing was/is just "not right." We are currently in a type of don't ask, don't tell. Our relationship has undoubtedly suffered as a result. Admittedly, I have made some bad choices in seeking such acceptance outside of my marriage.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
I would not have married so young and would have asked her to work together with me to honor the "didn't matter" sentiment or to end the relationship. My own guilt and limited self-acceptance kept (and perhaps still keeps) me from doing this.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
I am interested in 3 styles: clothing on the feminine side of androgynous that I can wear every day (almost all of the jeans, shoes, and underwear that I wear daily are women's), everyday dresses or skirt outfits for (exceptionally rare) trips out in public, and bedroom lingerie of silky / satiny fabrics. I have breast forms and a wig that I seldom wear.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
Several things: Like many here, my desire or need to crossdress has progressed over the years from primarily fetish as a teenager to something more - although the fetish aspect remains even as I enter into my 60s. I don't feel I was born in the wrong body and certainly don't hate my male anatomy, but it is obvious that I am not solidly of the male gender. I sometimes wonder if I would have been happier had I been born female, but perhaps I would have been equally comfortable (or uncomfortable) with my gender had I been. I'm somewhere in between on the gender spectrum. I identify as "straight." That is, I am attracted to women regardless of how I'm dressed, and am much less comfortable around men than women when dressed. Despite all of this, I consider my gender (such as it is) an important part of me and would not change it if I could.

11) Favorite place to shop?
I love shopping in person - especially in the company (and with the support of) of a f.a.b. friend, but by far the majority of my wardrobe has been bought online. Nordstrom Rack, Macys, and Dillards have great bargains on quality clothing during clearance events. I never pay full price for anything.

12)Have you purged?
I purged several times during my younger years - before I was married and around the time that my wife decided she could not tolerate my dressing.

13) If so did you regret it?
Absolutely!

14) Any advice to new cders?
Love yourself first, and find a partner and friends that value you and your happiness regardless of what gender you wish to present. Do not accept tolerance - it is important to find those who embrace every aspect of you. They exist! I have a few in my life without whom I would be lost.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
I don't do my makeup or nails enough to do them well. They are skills that I would like to improve.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
I want to be accepted - and embraced - for who I am in all significant interpersonal relationships.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
I've hinted to my grown daughters, and I suspect that they know... something. I would like to get that out in the open.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
The only significant bad reaction was the delayed rejection by my wife.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
My best times dressed were going out with accepting / encouraging friends - a female-at-birth friend and a couple. One was a shopping trip and the other was a Halloween party.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
I wish my wife knew how important this aspect of my personality is to me, and how much her rejection hurts me and our relationship.

These are very insightful questions. I have learned something of myself by answering them!

Here is my input.

1) When did you start dressing? 8 or 9. My mother used me as a dressing dummy for some of the costumes for Dance Recitals. I liked it then and have done it since.

2) At what age did you pick your name? 15 or so I guess. I was dressing when I could. Not full, just what i could get away with.

3) why did you pick that name ? It is the feminine version of my name.

4) Are you married, single ect? Divorced, and she passed away about 15 years ago.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? No.

6) When did you tell them? N/A.

7) How did that work out ( the telling) N/A.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? Yeah, I would have done better with my weight and toned up better.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? Skirt/Blouses. Girdles with Suspenders. No pantyhose. Skinny jeans or Faux Leather pants. At least 3 inch heels. I have some 4/5 inch, but only for certain occasions.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you? single for so long it does not matter any longer.

11) Favorite place to shop? Amazon. Never been dressed and shopped out. May try that after the new house is built.

12)Have you purged? Oh yeah! too many times to count.

13) If so did you regret it? Yes. Not purging anymore. I am comfortable with myself and where I am in life.

14) Any advice to new cders? Take a chance. Don't be afraid of what others think. Tell your significant other you like to do it. if they don't want to understand then they are not the right person for you.

15) Do you do your own makeup? Yes, horrible at it.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ? Makeup perfection.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? No, I came out dressed at Halloween and was accepted by the peer group I am most respected in.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? Not at all. Lucky I guess.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed? I did a Pinup Photo shoot that was supposed to be part of a calendar. Photo shoot was blast. No Calendar.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? No. My son does not care, thinks it is funny. All the rest of the family in my home state, are very cool with it.

In closing, I think the only people that would not be cool/understanding with my dressing is my work colleagues. It is a male dominated environment. even with the huge number of people in the company, there were two people that I know of that transitioned and it was a big joke in some circles. I have no plans to transition. I love my male parts. I just wish I had bigger breasts!

1) When did you start dressing?
I have known from a very young age, probably 4 or 5 that there was something "different" about me, and I was experimenting with my mother's, aunt's and cousin's clothes starting at about 6. I was in my mid- to late-teens when I started dressing fully, and started to play with make-up.

2) At what age did you pick your name?
About 14 or 15, when I started to dress fully

3) why did you pick that name ?
When I was 10 or so, I asked my mother what my name would have been if I had been born a girl.

4) Are you married, single ect?
Divorced

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
My ex wife knew

6) When did you tell them?
About 18 months after we got married, in 1986. She found my stash of lingerie I started to accumulate after about a year of marriage.

7) How did that work out ( the telling)
Short term not well, lots of tears and yelling. She insisted I see a psychologist to be "cured." Long story short, after he met with her, he convinced her it was harmless, and I could not be "cured."

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
Not get married, so I could have been free to explore my gender more in my twenties and thirties.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
Professional, classic

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
N/A

11) Favorite place to shop?
Lane Bryant

12)Have you purged?
Yes, before I got married.

13) If so did you regret it?
Yes. I had some lovely clothes.

14) Any advice to new cders?
Don't feel shame, own it.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
Yes, and I get compliments.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
Exploring my gender identity. I stopped identifying as a crossdresser about 10 years ago, I now identify as being transgender, and trying to decide whether or not I'll transition.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
My daughter and my 2 best male friends. I'm not sure my ex knows how far I've come in exploring my gender, so I need to talk to her about it.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
Only my ex-wife when I told her. Everyone else I've come out to has been incredibly supportive. Even my ex came around and was supportive after she had a chance to digest it.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
A week spent in Duluth, MN fully as Elizabeth.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
That I am happier as a woman than I ever have been as a man.

1) When did you start dressing? Around 4 years old

2) At what age did you pick your name? My current name at age 50. I used another name from around age 23 to that time.

3) Why did you pick that name ? My current name is a fictional character in a stage play. I performed that part in several plays and the fictional character?s personality reflected my own quite well.

4) Are you married, single etc? Married

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? Yes

6) When did you tell them? Before we were married

7) How did that work out (the telling) Worked out very well. We have had our ups and downs over it throughout our 50+ years together, but overall she is very accepting.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? I would not have told my parents. I did that when my wife and I had our first child. It did not go well with my parents and became a DADT subject. We were not living with my parents, so there was no real need for them to know.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? Classic and professional (skirts and tops, dresses, hosiery and pumps)

10) What is something that you would like us to know about you? I accepted my desire to crossdress at an early age and have never regretted it.

11) Favorite place to shop? Department stores, thrift stores, eBay, other online stores

12) Have you purged? Never

13) If so did you regret it? N/A

14) Any advice to new cders? Come to terms with your need to crossdress and own it. You do not need to transition to be able to go out and be accepted in today?s world.

15) Do you do your own makeup? Yes

16) What things do you strive for (goals) ? Help others who are struggling with their crossdressing to find a way to incorporate it into their lives without destroying relationships or jeopardizing careers.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? I would like to tell some of my wife?s friends, but my wife does not agree. I honor my wife?s wishes in this.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? Only with my late parents

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed? There have been so many, it?s hard to narrow it down to one. The most memorable was over 20 years ago when I was in a community theatre group and first played the character Phoebe Reece in a comedy play. I was onstage fully dressed performing as a female character in front of friends, family, and co-workers - who mostly did not know I crossdressed off stage.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? I would like my wife to understand that I would appreciate it a lot if she would participate more in my outings as Phoebe. I prefer her company over others. She will go out with me, if we are out of town and I have brought my femme things along. But that doesn?t happen very often.

This is a great idea!

1) When did you start dressing?
15-ish

2) At what age did you pick your name?
42

3) why did you pick that name ?
I wanted something that could be used in either girl, or boy mode. Because that's how I fell.... a mixture of both. S, A, and M are my initials, but jumbled. I added the extra "M" for more of a feminine feel. (Like Jenn). Sammara came later.

4) Are you married, single etc?
Married

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
Yes 100% supportive

6) When did you tell them?
A few months after we became serious. Before we married.

7) How did that work out ( the telling)
She knew I was holding something from her. After a month of back and forth, we went for a long walk. She asked me (again) what I was hiding. All I could manage to say was "I like girl clothes". She paused, then laughed, and said "that's all?" She had the usual questions, but that was it. She wasn't even curious. She told me I was my thing. If I wanted to keep it to myself, I could. If I wanted to share it with her, that was fine, too. I was blown away.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
No
9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
I love my favorite boot cut jeans, boots, and a form fitting top.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
Besides the obvious? Not sure. But ask me anything.

11) Favorite place to shop?
Savers lol

12)Have you purged?
Twice, years before I met my wife

13) If so did you regret it?
Both times.

14) Any advice to new cders?
Yeah, don't purge.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
Yes

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
The "perfect balance". Easier said, than done.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
I think about telling my daughter all the time. There's really no reason to at this point in time. Maybe never.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
N/A

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
It's a tie lol... The first time my wife saw me dressed (no forms, makeup, or wig at that time)
And that first "there you are" moment, fully dressed with forms, makeup, wig. With those favorite boot cut jeans, boots, and fitted top. Lol

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
I don't expect anyone to understand this part of me. Sometimes it's hard enough to understand all of this, myself. I'd rather go for acceptance. Understanding can come later, I think.

1. Very young, but 12 was the first time that it was something more than playing dress up.
2. 52 when I joined this forum.
3. It's the initial letter of my given name, so appears on bank cards in that form.
4. Married, twice, lost fist wife to cancer in 2008.
5. & 6. Both first and second wife were full aware before we married.
7. With my first wife, it was always a part of our life together, may have helped that her father was an occasional cd.
With my second wife, she actually sussed me out early in our relationship, and to all intents and purposes told me.
8. Started ballet classes much much earlier in life, rather than at the age of 68 years.
9. Blendable, smart casual, with dressed to the nines when the occasion is right.
10. I also enjoy knitting.
11. Leeds City Centre.
12. Yes
13. Absolutely
14. Just be yourself and enjoy.
15. Yes
16. Just to be happy and to make those around me happy too.
17. Not really, most of the people that are important to me already know.
18. Just the one, and I dont miss them .
19. After that first time at age 12 when I saw the girl that was me, probably my second full makeover and photo shoot.
20. Everything that I wish that I could understand myself. But most of all, just how comfortable Kaye is.

Phew that was a marathon, took 4 attempts because I kept hitting a wrong button!!!!

1) When did you start dressing?
Mmm ? very young.

2) At what age did you pick your name?
In my 60s, specifically for this forum

3) why did you pick that name ?
Wanted a name which reflected the fact that I do not need or want a female name. A gale is a very strong and destructive breeze. Seems appropriate.

4) Are you married, single ect?
Married for 32 years. Three subsequent relationships. Currently not involved.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
Every person I was involved with knew. My wife was/still is very anti! All the others were accepting. Other issues got in the way.

6) When did you tell them?
How could I tell me wife? I had no idea why I felt the way I did or has the need to do what I did. Ignorance! Once I joined this forum and started to understand, I could explain the situation to the others.

7) How did that work out ( the telling)
I?m divorced. To be fair, CDing was not the only issue. But it is the only issue preventing us from getting back together. The other relationships fell apart for reasons not related to CDing.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
I would have remained single all my life.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
Stockings and high heels are my thing. The other items, I can take or leave.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
No.

11) Favorite place to shop?
SHQ.

12)Have you purged?
Many times. Self-loathing and ignorance.

13) If so did you regret it?
Yes. Lovely lingerie and heels which I threw away and simply cannot replace.

14) Any advice to new cders?
There is nothing wrong with you. Learn and live. Don?t purge. Tell your SO.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
N/A

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
When Covid-19 is over, I need to find a job and a place of my own.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
No.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
My wife could never understand or accept. My reactions only made things worse. Repenting at leisure now.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
Going to a themed event in London quite a few years ago. Underdressed as I had always wanted to.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
I wish that society could simply accept that clothes do not make a man or a woman. I hate the hypocrisy too many people hold about the LGBTQ community

It's sad because that would all be forgotten if it ever came out, nobody would remember the nice person I am. That's the sad part.

Oh.....okay.......

1) When did you start dressing? 1st item when I was about 13 or 14. Fully dressed as me the first time at 17. Then not again until I was about 34.

2) At what age did you pick your name? I've gone through many names over the years. The one I am now legally (not my username here btw) I chose when I was probably about 42 or so.

3) why did you pick that name ? Okay, so..... I would go in to stores and try on clothes, when asked my name for them to write it on the dressing room door for me, I would say Nadine. They would never get it right. Never. I didn't know if they didn't understand me or the name or if I just didn't own it. I was preparing to go shopping once and I told my wife, I'm just going to use a super common name, like Kelly. I did. They understood me. And I felt like it was truly me, so I stuck with it.

4) Are you married, single etc? Yes

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? Yes

6) When did you tell them? She has known every bit of my trans journey as I have discovered it. We met when we were 8, and began dating at 15.

7) How did that work out ( the telling) - Not always pretty, but we have always continued to talk, to learn, and to grow as a couple. I have fully transitioned, have GCS planned for a few years from now, and we are more happy together now then we have ever been

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? Essentially no, as I like who I am now and I would not be this person without experiencing what I have. However, when I was real young, prior to puberty, if somehow I knew I was trans and was going to transition, and I knew that doing so prior to having massive amounts of T dumped into my system that I would never have lost my hair, then I for sure would have transitioned as soon as I could have, ideally taken puberty blockers and then changed my hormones. Then I could still have my natural hair, ooohhh, that would be fabu!

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? Classic, timeless, clean lines, black and white, patterns

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you? There is not much the online world does not know about me, if you have actually taken the time to read the drivel that spews forth from my fingertips........ how about, do you know that I have 8 cats? Yup, 8!

11) Favorite place to shop? White House Black Market

12)Have you purged? Yup, when I was about 30

13) If so did you regret it? Yes and no. It made me much more aware that this is a part of me that I can't just toss into a trash can and walk away from.

14) Any advice to new cders? You do you boo!

15) Do you do your own makeup? Hahahahahahahaha, well I am full time, so yes. At first my wife showed me how to apply it. Then I began going to get makeovers at Macy's and such. I would watch, listen, ask questions, practice, and I learned.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ? To be happy in being the authentic me wherever I may roam.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? Everyone knows.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? I've lost a few friends along the way, but far less than I would have thought. Like maybe 2 couples that my wife and I no longer hang out with.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed? Going in to work, in front of my 7th and 8th graders, as the real me.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? Nope as we still all discuss various aspects all the time. It is a learning process and we are all learning as we grow.

Hello all!! It's been a long time for me posting. Has been a rough year!
I know, I think it's been rough one for all of us, but more so with me personally, I'm recently separated from my wife and family.
Divorce seems imminent.
My dressing does not seem to be THE reason, but I'm sure it did NOT help my marriage.
But anyway, it just may be that life got in the way but we still LOVE each other and have come to the realization that we have grown apart.
And our awesome children are now old enough to understand that we will always...ALWAYS be much better Mom & Dad, than we have grown to be Husband & Wife.
It's a very sad coming to be, but we know we have both tried to make certain changes and promises many times over and over, but it just doesn't work enough to get where it works for both.
But the good news is we both hope for happiness in each-other's "new" life that will come on the other side of divorce.
No more fighting, daily frustration with each other, and no regrets with our children.
And thankfully, the silver lining is, that we are not looking to hurt each other any more, even though we never meant to, it just always seemed to happen, and we now want to offer each other support, without wanting to "kill" each other for stupid little things. :hugs:

1) When did you start dressing?
Very early on, probably 8-9 yrs old. Wearing my Mom's underthings whenever nobody was home.

2) At what age did you pick your name?
Just recently when developing an on-line profile.

3) why did you pick that name ?
Just liked the name, and it was available

4) Are you married, single ect?
Married 24+ years. Recently separated.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
Yes, very early on, I told her I liked feminine underwear. I tried to build off that, but she never really understood. Many years later, I told her I liked more than just underwear. She was "ok" with it, but didnt want to share or enable it. So it became another "secret" thing I did alone.

6) When did you tell them?
Very early in our relationship, and years later, a little more over time.

7) How did that work out ( the telling)
Harder for me to muster up talking about it, but she was really understanding and not hurtful or judgmental about it.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
I would have been more honest to the level of what I liked and what I wanted to have happen with us.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
Various from sexy to romantic to semi-elegant.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
That I'm not a bad person, that I know that I do have a very strong imagination, I try to expand my understanding of people's diversity, and that I like to learn about other people's mindset about what they like and what makes them happy.
Also, as I have learned from this site, that I need to better understand that my own dressing desires are probably more fetish-like right now as compared to many that dress for non-sexual related reasons.

11) Favorite place to shop?
Anyplace I can without fear of being caught or embarrassed. IE, thank you Amazon :battingeyelashes:

12)Have you purged?
Yes, several times over the years.

13) If so did you regret it?
Thought is was the "right thing to do" at the time, but later realized that I totally regretted it and was angered by the feeling that I "had to" purge to get it out of my life.
Total regret!!

14) Any advice to new cders?
Be VERY true to yourself, but also, need to be aware of other's concerns and feeling too, especially those that you care about too. Situational awareness is key. You can't beat someone over the head to "prove" something you like. Be open, but be smart.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
Yes. But only wear it on very select times when I know I have a window of opportunity. And I had to build it up over time. Mostly all cheap stuff and I tend to look like a circus clown if I dont have the time to try to do it properly.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
To get a better understand of why I like it, and figure out a balance where it is not so hot/cold or obsessional.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
Yes. I'd like to tell everyone!!! But my circle of friends (and never my family) would really not understand it. So I am REALLY thankful for being able to "share" online and in relative privacy without much fear of being shamed or judged.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
No bad reaction to my online-family, but my actual family, they don't know, and I don't want them to.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
Not one particular "event", but love the feeling of being dressed and stepping outside the house, feeling the outside air, or sun, come over you and feel so much more "free".

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
Yes, everything!! I wish that it did not have to be hidden, or, something that must be guarded about. Obviously, I mean that for age-specific family members. Would never want to "share" that with anyone who is not an adult with a better understanding of human dynamics.

1) When did you start dressing? I do not believe just trying on my mother's slip because I liked the fabric constitutes dressing. I first wore all her clothes in my early teens.

2) At what age did you pick your name? When I joined this forum (2010). That would be age 63

3) Why did you pcik that name? According to my mother I was suppose to be a girl since the first born child was a boy. I would have been name Stephanie after my grandmother, Stefi.

4) Are you married, sing, etc? Married

5) Does your wife/girl friend know? Yes, although she has not said anything about it since the 1980's.

6) When did you tell her? If I remember correctly it would have been maybe 1983 or so.

7) How did it work out, the telling? Poorly. "If I had known I would not have married you!" "If I wanted to be married to a woman I would have married a woman."

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? I would have taken her up on her suggestion to find a support group.

9) Do you have a certain type of style you are drawn to? Yes, I only wear dresses. My preference is floral prints. Would never wear anything resembling pants.

10) What is something you would like us to know about you? No, I lived a fairly dull life other than being an infantryman in Nam.

11) Favorite place to shop? Ebay. JCPenny for dresses. Herroom for panties.

12) Have you purged? Never

13) N/A

14) Any advice to new CDers? If you're only a place vanilla crossdresser just tell you wife you do not know why you do what you do. Don't tell a woman you're getting in touch with your feminine side.

15) Do you own your own makeup? Yes, put hardly ever use it. Takes too long for such a short period of time.

16) What things do you strive for (goals)? No goals now other than it would be nice to have an appreciative wife.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? Nope

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? Only discussed my crossdressing with my wife. It did not go well. DADT since the 1980's.

19) The best time (s0 far) you have had dressed? When my wife went to visit out of state; daughter in Chicago and cousin in Arizona. Dressed 24/7 for 7-10 days. Able to hang dresses in the closet. Put undergarment in armoire draw. Shoes lined up

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? It was a hurdle to convince my wife (1) my dressing had nothing to do with any inadequacy about her (Why am I not enough for you?), (2) "I do not know why I do what I do!" (3) If we ever were to have any open and frank conversation about my dressing I would tell her as a young child (4? or so) I had thoughts/dreams I had been a young woman who was murdered. That image was of me laying in the dirt attired in only a white slip which is the women's garment which drew me into crossdressing. Prior life experience? And, dressing was a form of escape for me from the horrors of war, PTSD. Crossdressing is a refuge from those thoughts.

Sixteen, but I think that was too young to pick. I have since chosen another name, but unfortunately I didnt find it until after I had already made this profile.

3) why did you pick that name ?
Monica was my favorite character on Friends! However, a few years ago my mom told me that during her pregnancy she didnt know my gender until birth and if I had been born a girl my name would have been Mariana. So from then on, thats what my CD name has been.

Yes, I would tell her in a better more gentle way, and a lot sooner. As it was I told her drunk on a Monday night while we were long distance in college (Celebrating best friends 21st). Let me tell you- that is most definitely not the way to do it.

Just one.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
The first time I did full makeup and wig. I had a blast working on my make up and then did a little photo shoot with all of my new clothes ( I had gone shopping that day). I remember how much fun it felt to just go all out. Then I binge watched Vikings for a few hours and went to bed.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
I just wish it was understood that its just something fun I love to do as an escape and to have fun and relax. It really helps me relieve stress and get into flow state. Like someone who loves getting lost in art. In the end Its just clothes and usually just for a few hours. Nothing about me is changed, Im still 100% me. I wish they knew how important it was to me, and that I miss it. And that if I could do it again, Id still be me.

[QUOTE=Di;4441398]Twenty questions

Thought we might get to know each other. No comments on anyone?s answer please just your answers . If there is something you do not want to answer or it does not pertain to you just put N/A

1) When did you start dressing?
I was about 18 years old when I discovered the wonders of female undies and luckily for me my girlfriend now wife soon pick up on my liking for them, with her encouragement they have always played an important part in our sex life. Unlike many others I never thought about fully femming up until I was about 40 years old, 20 years later I am very comfortable swapping from one to the other personas.[/I][/B]

2) At what age did you pick your name?
I picked Lynn but my Wife calls me Felicity or Flick so Flick it is, I was about 45 years old.

3) Why did you pick that name?
See above

4) Are you married, single ect?
Happily married.

5) Does your wife/girlfriend know?

I never had too; it was with her encouragement that Felicity naturally grew, if anything it took me longer to except my feminine wants/needs than it did her, in truth she never really had a problem with it.

7) How did that work out (the telling)
As above, working out better with each passing day.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
I wished I fully dressed earlier like in my 20s but coming from a family with a very Victorian father (men go to work and the woman stay at home) I couldn?t even think about it or even admit to myself having such thoughts.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
I love the smart office look, tight pencil skirts, frilly blouses and heels.

10) What is something that you would like us to know about you?
Don?t let the panties fool you; I?m only submissive to my wife.

11) Favourite place to shop?
Roman?s, ASDA or any female clothing store.

12) Have you purged?
No, I never felt the need to.

13) If so did you regret it?
N/A

14) Any advice to new cders?
There is nothing abnormal or unusual in cross-dressing, remember that you are unique just like the rest of us.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
Only when I want to look like a clown, so the answer is no I don?t, I don?t really use it at all.

16) What things do you strive for (goals)?
To stay fit or even get fitter.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
No, it?s not really anyone else?s business, yes it would be good just to pop out to the shops as my fem self but it?s not going to happen without repercussions, plus I am quite content being a stay at home CD.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
Not out as far as I am aware and if anyone does know it is up to them to deal with it, my family are far more important than me coming out.

19) The best time (so far) you have had dressed?
I?ve shared so many with my wife, the first time she took me away for a weekend and she had me fully femmed up, the full works for the first time in a hotel room or when I was fully made up whilst staying on a caravan site for the weekend and with her encouragement we went out for an late night stroll around the site, oh I can still feel the breeze on my stocking covered legs.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
I couldn?t wish for a more understanding wife, if anything I wish that I understood more as with the why?s and why nots with it all.

This seems like it may be fun & helpful... Thanks, Di! :yippee:

1) When did you start dressing?

Age 6 -- Though if I had a sister, it probably would have been much earlier. :p

2) At what age did you pick your name?

There have been a few along the way, LOL

3) why did you pick that name ?

The original one & all its derivatives? Name of an amazing (and hawt!) GG-friend/crush back in 6th grade. Loved her in all kinds of ways! Eventually realized her name just seemed to best fit my own personal "brand" of femininity, if that makes sense.

4) Are you married, single etc?

Single -- mostly by choice. Though not gonna lie: All this does sometimes hold me back a bit in various ways. :(

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?

Some past GF's did.

6) When did you tell them?

Eventually. Voluntarily.

7) How did that work out ( the telling)

They weren't exactly thrilled, to say the least. GG-friends, on the other hand, actually *preferred* hanging out with me all dolled-up! :battingeyelashes:

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?

Generally-speaking, to learn to accept myself better/sooner. And realistically? Probably truly takes a lifetime to master.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?

Have run the gamut over the decades. Mostly athleisure, these days. Though I still enjoy glamming it up sometimes, too!

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?

That I've spent waaaay too much time, money, energy & focus on all this, throughout my life. However, this is also the hand I was dealt. I didn't choose this. I suppose it could be better -- or worse. Such is life. Fortunately, it does bring me spiritual contentment & enlightenment, as weird as that may sound... So, it isn't all for naught.

11) Favorite place to shop?

Since the late '90s? The internet!

12) Have you purged?

Too many times to count.

13) If so did you regret it?

On quite a few levels, not so much. Whatever, can just be the nature of the biz. (Never again, however!) Doing so tended to set me on a different, better & truer path. Unfortunately, digital photos from over the years, *poof*, no longer exist. :(

14) Any advice to new cders?

Welcome to one heck of a ride! You'll probably experience some ups & downs, and twists & turns. Triumphs & struggles. Joy & sadness. Pride & shame. It happens. That said, it is an interesting journey! Live your life & love yourself as best you can. :hugs:

15) Do you do your own makeup?

Since I was 13. :D

16) What things do you strive for (goals)?

In terms of all this? To be more brave, open & true-to-myself a bit more often.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?

Everyone who I feel needs to know, pretty much already knows, to some extent or another. And always have to take it on a case-by-case basis for people yet to come into my life.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?

Long time ago, but 2 separate incidents (at the time: a co-worker, and neighbor-friend -- both males) each inadvertently saw me out & about on different days. Later on (while I was presenting as a guy), things escalated quickly in each case & fistfights almost ensued, no joke. They eventually backed off... I just think they finally realized they didn't want to get their ass kicked by a pissed-off "girl"! :roflmao:

19)The best time (so far) you have had dressed?

Probably one of the nights my former social circle & I used to go out clubbing/bar-hopping (including "vanilla" hetero places) -- an era where I was at the "top of my CD game," so to speak. Definitely got a good firsthand glimpse into the life of being a GG! Exhilarating. Terrifying. Awesome & surreal. Many cans of worms were opened. The grass is not greener on the other side... But it most certainly can be *quite* unexpectedly different!

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?

To all those in a CD'er's life? It may not exactly be your cup of tea. You may even find it odd or disturbing or confusing, on some level or another. Believe me, I get it. But on the same token? This is who we are. It is a part of us. God knows why. It just is. It's probably never going to completely go away. Ever. Years later, after a long hiatus, it may suddenly pop up again out-of-the-blue, for no apparent reason. We sometimes struggle with it all -- just as you may. CD'ers have to learn to live with it as best we can... So, I suggest those in their lives wholeheartedly try to do the same. We definitely appreciate it -- and you -- so much!!

See 2. answere

4) Are you married, single ect?
Married

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
Yes

6) When did you tell them?
Couple of weeks after the first time I dressed

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
No, everything happens for a reason, and everything I did in the past is the direct consequence of something that happened before, so I'm not lingering about the past

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
The office, secretery type of dresses. Pencil skirt with matching top or short dress. For jewelry I like pearl neclases and bracelets and I have a thing for large metal wristwatches. And also I love the brides maid type short dresses for some reason.

Yes, partially about 2-3 times.

14) Any advice to new cders?
Yes, it is possible to just like to dress without being gay or TG. If you are afraid of it, don't. If you are haven't considered yourself gay or TG up until this point, chances are you won't in the future as well.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
I don't do makeup at all.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?

One of my best friends, but since he comes over to our house quite often and is pretty close to my wife too I don't want my wife to feel weird knowing that he knows it too.

No. I came out to my wife and to one of my friends. Both were understanding.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
Once my wife were out of town for a couple of days with our daughter so it was no chance to come home unannounced. I could be dressed as long as I wanted careless. I remember one night I made myself a Mojito and watched a movie.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
Know I think I explained it pretty well when I came out.

2) At what age did you pick your name? Age 42.

3) why did you pick that name ? It is my wife?s nickname for me in male mode. It is the name of the source of the monster?s brain in the Mel Brooks movie, Young Frankenstein. Twenty questions

1) When did you start dressing?
I was 5 or 6 when I first wore my mother's panties then bra

2) At what age did you pick your name?
I've had several over the years but my real name was chosen when I finally decided to come out to my wife fully. I was 49.

3) why did you pick that name ?
I was adamant that it would not be some female variation of a common male name. I wanted it to be feminine and distinct. I wanted it to be me.
It was also a slight homage to my very first crush.

4) Are you married, single etc?
Very happily married.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
Yes, I was going crazy hiding from everyone and finally told her everything.

6) When did you tell them?
Just over 20 years ago.

7) How did that work out ( the telling)
It involved many tears, heart aches, long nights talking, and the most nervous night of my life when I dressed fully for her for the first time.
It took time, but she is fully understanding and accepting.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
I would have released myself from all the secrecy and guilt at a much younger age and come out when I was in college.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
I love classic styles. I prefer skirts and blouses for the variety and flexibility they give my wardrobe and for the ease of which I can better fit my figure. As I've matured my style has become what some
might call average and that's just fine. I'm happy being me and just being "one of the girls". I'm just as comfortable in jeans and a top as in a beautiful gown or dress and I feel just as much ME no
matter what I'm wearing and that's what I've always wanted.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
I'm a little lonely now that we've retired. Though I dress nearly full time now I crave others to share what I've learned. Unfortunately we seem to have moved to an area without many like me and I
haven't been able to find any groups or singles within a reasonable distance to make new friends.

11) Favorite place to shop?
Lord & Taylor for one. They have some great deals on closeouts and I'm a bit "cheap"...lol. I also like getting deals on eBay. It's been a while since I've gone clothes shopping as I have a fairly extensive
wardrobe and am currently trying to wear everything just to make sure I still like what I have and that it all still fits with all this quarantine business.

12)Have you purged?
Of course, who hasn't? I've done it 4 or 5 times, not since I came out to my wife and never again.

13) If so did you regret it?
Of course, I spent a good deal of money on those things and just threw away so many lovely dresses and shoes and lingerie. It hurts just to think about it.

14) Any advice to new cders?
Find a support group. Meet others and talk, share and learn. It will help you grow and give you more self-confidence. It will also help take away those feeling of guilt and shame that many of us bear.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
Yes. I had my wife do it once an age ago for Halloween. I've had a few makeovers by professionals, but now I simply do my own. I know how I want to appear to the world and I've developed enough
skill to be able to do it myself. Besides, I just love the process. Seeing the change is rewarding and also emotionally satisfying.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
I just want to be me. Not sure where this is leading, but I'm enjoying the journey now that I have accepted myself.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
Wish my mom was still alive and that I could tell her. I think she would accept me and that would be an enormous emotional lift.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
Yes, I was very close to someone a lifetime ago and when I told her she turned away and it ended something beautiful.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
Some 14 years ago the wife and I took a "girls only" vacation. We traveled around New England for a week as girlfriends. I was able to spend the entire week dressed. We went everywhere, to National
Parks, shopping, to dinner, museums and a tour of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream factory. It was nerve wracking at first but by day 3 that all passed and the trip gave me such confidence in myself.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
Everything !! I wished they understood that I was chosen. I did not select this for myself. I'm not gay as they would think. I'm not crazy or a freak. I'm just someone who has this femininity inside that
NEEDS expression and this is the way I do that.
I wish they could understand that the qualities they see in me, the understanding, the caring, the sensitivity all are derived from my femininity. I'm not trying to compete with or outdo anyone. I'm not
trying compensate for anything. I'm just trying to be me in what I feel is my best form.

15) Do you do your own makeup? Actually had a formal education in doing my own and then taught others.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ? To always pass and look genuine.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? I'd love to tell my former boss and friend. She was an Administrator at a facility where I was an Infection Control Nurse.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? Wife is not thrilled. Daughters OK but want it kept under wraps since they had kids. Son in denial.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed? Read my threads. 40 years of wonderful experiences.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? That I have always been the same loving person they have always known and much of that is because of my dominant feminine side.

Twenty questions

Thought we might get to know each other. No comments on anyone?s answer please just your answers . If there is something you do not want to answer or it does not pertain to you just put N/A

1) When did you start dressing? I was about 12 years old the first time I had the chance. I would have dressed earlier if possible, I think.

2) At what age did you pick your name? In my mid-late 40's

3) why did you pick that name ? I needed a name for my on-line presence. I felt Sarah was a calm and stable name. I added my last name about 5 years later.

4) Are you married, single ect? I was married for about 40 years. I'm widowed now and living alone

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? She did

6) When did you tell them? right after she caught me, about 12 years before her death

7) How did that work out ( the telling) She did her research, found my things and decided the things my feminine side added to our relationship were a bonus and what she loved about me.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? Lots. Probably a lot more honesty earlier, but I'm not sure how that would work out.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? Office, casual, comfortable age and situation appropriate has been my goal so I could try to blend in.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you? I've very deliberate, almost to the point of being stationary at times. Regardless I'm still moving forward.

12)Have you purged? Never

13) If so did you regret it? I would have

15) Do you do your own makeup? Yes

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ? I'm just trying to be happy. I'm 70 years old and it seems I've forgotten how.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? Yes, the one person who I fear the most. I realize I've given him a lot of unearned power over my life, it's not right.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? So far, none. A little silence from a couple of people has been the worst so far.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed? Too many to choose from; Meeting others for the first time and feeling a sense of community; Being in a group of over 100 others for a photo op and enjoying the attention from those watching us; meeting a new CD who is being with others for the first time and seeing their joy; or yesterday unloading the back of my car from a grocery trip and having the neighbor call out "Hey Sarah, when do you usually turn your lawn sprinklers system on?"

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? I held back for years thinking it would make their lives easier, now it's time for me to see where it takes me.

1. I was 5 years old when I found my first pair of panties while walking to school. My dressing just progressed from there. At 18 and moved out on my own is when I started dressing full time.
2. I don't know.it was after I got my 1st computer, and joined all the CD sites I could find, and people were asking what my she name is.
3. Lisa is the name of the girl I had a crush on in high school, she would never go out with me no matter how many times I asked her out. MAries in my Grand Mother's name, she was the only family member besides my brother and sister, to accept me for who I am.
4. Single, never wanted to be married.
5. Every woman I ever dated knew. I even met 1 on a CD site.
6. Since all I own and wear is women's clothes, They'll know on the 1st date, if they knew what they were looking at, they would know they were women's clothes, I would tell them i am a dresser by way of bringing up different life styles etc. to judge how open minded they are. If they seem open minded enough, I tell them about me. If they can't accept it, I rather know before anything serious develops.
7. My relationships have lasted for quite some time, including a year or more. Something else has come between us and broken the relationships.
8.Just tried to stay thin, and keep a more feminine figure.
9. My style is casual, everyday clothes.
10. I think I have put everything about me, out there for everyone to see.
11. Thrift stores and Ebay are my favorite places to shop. I like church garage sales and clearance racks too.
12.NEVER
13.N/A
14. Accept yourself, be yourself. And never ever purge. Just put it away, out of site, out of mind, you won't regret that, but you will regret purging.
15.Yes
16. Just blend in.
17. Nope, I suspect my friend knows, but I will never bring it up. His Bro in law is a CD, and he saw him dressed, it was not a pretty site how my friend reacted. So better off not knowing if he knows or not. I really don't care to know either.
18. Nope.
19. I can't tell details here on a family site, but it involves a beautiful Mexican woman, a white lace corset at a thrift store, and what happened at her house.
20. That I am me, no matter how I dress.

1) When did you start dressing? My first experience with pantyhose is one of my earliest memories. I have no idea why I decided to try putting them on, but I did, and I really liked it. So it began.

2) At what age did you pick your name? Sometime in my late 20s.

3) why did you pick that name? The name picked me. It is a variation of how I am most commonly addressed by people who don’t correctly remember my given name. I can think of more exciting names, but Donna feels right.

4) Are you married, single etc.? Married ~25 yrs.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? She knows I have a history of crossdressing (more on this below)

6) When did you tell them? A few months into our relationship.

7) How did that work out ( the telling) Initially she was tolerant. I think at that point her attitude was more like you can wear what you want. As time went by, she became gradually less supportive. It’s complicated. We have been DADT for about the last 10 years.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? I settled for an SO who didn’t object. Looking back, I wish I had found one that was more willing to brace all that I am.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? I love to show my legs in pantyhose and heeled sandals. These days I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I like wearing age-appropriate dresses.

10) What is something that you would like us to know about you? The part of me that is not Donna is a complete geek. I am prone to overanalyze; I once developed a quantitative choice model to try to optimize my shoe collection. That is bound to show through. If I revert to my nerdular mode, feel free to give me a gentle nudge and I’ll snap out of it.

11) Favorite place to shop? Of all places, I have been doing really well ordering online from JCPenney. The clothes are pretty and, for me, they run true to size.

12) Have you purged? Yes, on several occasions.

13) If so did you regret it? There are a few items of clothing I wish I still had. I regret it more in principle. When I have purged it has been in the interest of improving my relationship with my wife. I have concluded that it’s not effective. When my wife gets bitter about my crossdressing and I stop, she finds something else to be bitter about. It seems to make no real difference to my wife, but Donna will be much happier if she can manage her wardrobe on her own terms - so Donna’s suitcase is here to stay.

14) Any advice to new cders? Find people who are supportive as soon as you can. It’s so much easier in 2020 than it was in 1985. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.

15) Do you do your own makeup? Up until this week, I really hadn’t been interested in doing makeup period. Now that I have seen so many beautiful women here, I really want to try.

16) What things do you strive for (goals)? To be able to be myself at all times, not having to conform to anyone else’s expectations, and to have a peaceful life.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? No (more on this in #18)

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? My immediate family knows. The MO seems to be let’s not talk about it and we can all forget it every happened.

19) The best time (so far) you have had dressed? The one time I was able to make love to my wife as Donna.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? I wish you would give Donna a fair chance - if you got to know her, you might like her.

One thing I regret a bit was tossing out the first bra I ever bought myself as part of that purge. I wouldn't mind still having that as a memento.

14) Any advice to new cders? 1) Don't purge 2) Tell your significant other about your dressing before you get married so she can make a choice 3) Staff at many stores are often more understanding than you may think. 1) When did you start dressing? approximately 1964

2) At what age did you pick your name? when I was in my late 40's.

3) why did you pick that name ? registering for an email address and I needed a user name. I have a star tattoo that caught my eye and the rest is history.

4) Are you married, single ect? married.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? yes but she doesn't want to see or hear about me dressing.

6) When did you tell them? she confronted me about my shaved legs and earrings around eighteen years ago but I had already mentioned that I had done that as a kid early in our marriage. At the time I first told her about my earlier experience as a kid I thought it was just a childhood kink. We never had a talk or considered it a threat to our relationship until our confrontation in the early 2000's when the fog I had been pushing into the background my whole live came back with a vengeance.

7) How did that work out ( the telling) Refer to number 6.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? I denied it while I was working and raising a family so probably not. It became an overwhelming desire gradually over the past twenty years.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? age appropriate and blend into the woodwork except for when I wear lingerie.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you? I spent twenty five years in a strict faith that caused a lot of guilt and delayed my coming to terms with my dressing. My not coming to grips with being a crossdresser (or perhaps more) was delayed because I thought it was a sin and meant that I'm gay and all the usual stereotypes. I only began to know myself after leaving that twenty years ago.

11) Favorite place to shop? in a dadt without much secure storage space so wherever I can, dollar stores, thrift stores, hand me downs.

12)Have you purged? yes.

13) If so did you regret it? yes but aside from some sexy boots most of it woudn't fit anymore so it's a moot point.

14) Any advice to new cders? don't wait until you're almost 70 if you can avoid it.

15) Do you do your own makeup? Yes and I'm pretty good at it with the exception of eyeliner. I raised three daughters with one working at Ulta in high school and the youngest being very good at makeup so there was a lot to observe (in a crossdressing dad sort of a way and not kinky).

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ? enough acceptance to dress at home and shop freely online. I'm in therapy and zeroing in on that subject for assistance in getting up the nerve. Something I have never experienced on any other topic in the 50 years I have been married. Aside from my crossdressing we can discuss anything freely and the fault for that probably lies more with me due to my guilt and fears of abandonment due to childhood trauma of losing my parents which is why I'm having such a hard time with asserting myself. My journey cannot progress until I get past that and get enough freedom to figure out how far this can go.

17) Anyone you would like to tell? my wife, she knows but we need to talk again.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? the usual questions, are you gay, does this mean you're going to transition, you would make an ugly woman, etc.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed? Any time I can get a motel room or have the house to myself and dress for long periods of time several days in a row.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? this is who I am and you can't cross your arms, stomp your feet and scare it out of me.

1) When did you start dressing?
-- I've had a fascination with high heels for as long as I can remember. I guess I started with mom's heels, and progressed from there to whenever a chance to try on shoes presented itself. First time totally dressed? I was 17. My friend and neighbor, who was also on Homecoming Court, Prom court, etc, was out of town with family for Christmas. I knew where the spare key was so I let myself in, and tried on her black dress with red trim that she wore for Homecoming Photos at school. I also tried on her black patent heels, hose, and it was the first time I tried on a bra... the feeling was electric as I walked around and admired the outfit in every mirror I walked past.

2) At what age did you pick your name?
-- In my late teens.

3) why did you pick that name ?
-- Tiffany was a girl that was two years my senior, went to my church, and was always dressed very feminine and classy, and always wore heels. She was beautiful and I guess I associate the name with femininity and beauty.

4) Are you married, single ect?
-- Married

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
-- Yes

6) When did you tell them?
-- 15 plus years ago

7) How did that work out ( the telling)
-- There was no yelling or berating, but it is basically a DADT relation

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
-- Not really, I think things have worked out the way they were meant to

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
-- Feminine, classy, professional

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
-- I guess I am on the lower end of the CD spectrum, I love heels and wear them often. When I wear a dress, I know I am a MIAD. Although I don't have time or really the place to get dressed up often, I do really enjoy the times when I can

11) Favorite place to shop?
-- Currently? DSW. and Poshmark

12)Have you purged?
-- of course

13) If so did you regret it?
-- of course. I got rid of one of my favorite dresses ever, a houndstooth wrap with matching houndstooth heels... Haven't been able to find one just like it again. Same for the heels, I loved the fit and feel of both and wish I had never gotten rid of them when I went through one of my several "I have to stop this" phases. I have gone on to either selling my shoes if they are in good shape or dropping them in thrift donation if I am truly done with that particular pair... If they are worn out then I throw them away

14) Any advice to new cders?
-- Be upfront and honest with your significant other. You have your feelings, your significant other also has their feelings. If you find yourself in a DADT, maybe you can learn to live with it. I did, and I'm ok with that. Oh, and don't purge... at least not your favorite things. Nearly every CD that purges wishes later that they had not.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
-- I don't have any makeup. Don't usually use makeup. I just don't have the time to dive that deep I guess, with work and life. I will say though, that when my wife sold Avon, I had access to samples of all kinds of items, and I do know that I love lipstick, and really enjoyed the few times I put on eyeliner and eye shadow. I even went out a few times at night dressed up in full makeup and a dress, heels and wig. I stayed away from crowds but really enjoyed myself

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
-- being a good person, showing genuine care for others.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
-- Not really

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
-- only the wife knows

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
-- wearing several of the neighbors outfits (see #1), going out a few times (See #15), I also enjoy shopping where the SA knows the purchase is for me and helps me find heels or dresses to try on. I have had several great experiences doing this, two other times the SA was indifferent, and one time the SA was visually disturbed and left me to do my own trying on.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
-- For me personally, I am comfortable where I am and I don't feel the need to pursue this further, or have it turn into something more on the TG spectrum. I am a guy, with a manly job, and a good family. You wouldn't guess there is this side of me if you met me In every day life. I am happy being a guy. I just also happen to like clothing that is traditionally for women.

Twenty questions

Thought we might get to know each other. No comments on anyone?s answer please just your answers . If there is something you do not want to answer or it does not pertain to you just put N/A

1) When did you start dressing?
At the age of 10.

2) At what age did you pick your name?
42

3) why did you pick that name ?
I was doing some family history research and I found a great-great-grandmother with this name. I liked it.

4) Are you married, single etc?
I have a partner.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
Yes.

6) When did you tell them?
After about 6 months.

7) How did that work out ( the telling)
She had a good idea. I would wear her dressing gowns, leggings while lounging around the house. She called me 'Helen' for a while before I told her. She still uses that name.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?
I would have done more of this when I was younger if I knew I was in it for the long haul.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?
Yes, women that I am attracted to. An example being Nigella Lawson - a British TV foodie.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?
I have never played Scrabble, or Monopoly. I have no cousins.

11) Favorite place to shop?
Online. Asos.

12)Have you purged?
Once, completely. A couple of other wobbles, deleting all my pics, cancelling accounts etc.

13) If so did you regret it?
Yeah.

14) Any advice to new CDs?
Get a wig, and do not just plonk it on like a Christmas party hat.

15) Do you do your own makeup?
Yes.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ?
To be accepted. Might not be down to me to achieve this.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?
Only one person. She understands me. We are similar.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?
From my ex partner, most definitely. She still calls me a pervert 15 years later. Current partner took a deep breath, big swallow of her drink, pulled a face and carried on.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?
I had what the tabloid press call a 'romp' with a man. When I was single. It was so far out of my normal behaviour that it stands out. I made a proper effort to look nice for him, not just for myself. I would recommend it for anyone considering having a dabble.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?
The mother of my children said my cross dressing meant that our relationship was just a lie. I wish I could have changed her mind on that. Other than that, I can hardly explain to myself why I do it, let alone others.

Molly Wells
07-16-2020, 04:34 PM
1) When did you start dressing? around 10yrs old

2) At what age did you pick your name? 55

3) why did you pick that name ? I was hoping to get my wife to agree to go out on Halloween, her as a mobster and me as her moll. It didn't happen. :( That was about the time I had finally accepted myself and that crossdressing wasn't going away. I had begun looking at websites and joining different forums and needed a name so I decided to do a take on a moll and became Molly Wells. I chose wells because it had a good ring to it and started with the same letter as my last name.

4) Are you married, single ect? married, 39 yrs.

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know? wife knew before we got married, kids came along and I kept it to myself in the closet. Any attempt to discuss since then has not gone well, she is very unaccepting. She thought it went away...

6) When did you tell them? see above

7) How did that work out ( the telling) she was somewhat tolerant when we were young, now totally against.

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now? maybe to not have gone so deep in the closet but worked more for her acceptance and understanding. This was before the internet became so prevelant and information was not easily accessed.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to? I like to blend so maybe daily wear or business casual. I would like to dress in a wedding dress or formal wear one day.

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you? I am very conservative in most of my views but very liberal in individual rights, including personal expression. I do my thing, you do yours, causing no harm to one another

11) Favorite place to shop? Macy's

12)Have you purged? several times, but not in over 10yrs. (too expensive!)

13) If so did you regret it? yes, pretty quickly too

14) Any advice to new cders? find personal acceptance and bloom where your planted, making the best of the place you in

15) Do you do your own makeup? yes, mostly. I have had it done by Mac and others.

16) What things do you strive for ( goals) ? Acceptance for who I am

17) Anyone you would like to tell? I stay pretty private. Regarding my dressing I only talk with others I have met through this or other forums and come to trust. When out away from home I have had open conversations with women that I have seen in salons or such.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out? Certainly been clocked many times... only bad reaction; It was in about 2002, I had flown to Massachusetts and picked up a car and was driving it back to Texas. I was traveling back in femme. I had everything I needed in the car so I had little interaction with people, and very careful about those. Like a dummy I decided to stop at a Walmart in Little Rock. I was wearing a form fitting sheath dress, stocking, and heels. I was overdressed... Between being tired from driving, poor makeup skills, cheap wig and whatever else, I got clocked the minute I walked in and felt like everybody was staring. I teenage boy and his girlfriend were laughing at me. I turned and went out the the kid followed me, giving me a hard time. I finally asked him how he was going to explain to his mother and daddy why he got his butt kicked by a guy in a dress. And if he was smart he would go away and leave me alone. (I sure am glad he didn't take the challenge!) I got to my car and got out of there as quick as I could. My confidence was shaken for a good while after that.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed? I have found that today I can dress to blend, go out in public and usually not get more that an occasional surprised look from people. Yes, I limit my interactions as much as possible. Some that I have enjoyed most have been going to salon for hair and makeup, nail salon. Just doing girl things...

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? It would be nice to have my wife to be open and accepting. She would not have to be involved, but her understanding and acceptance would be nice.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing? That just because I love wearing pretty clothes, nothing else has changed.

1) When did you start dressing?

Twelve

2) At what age did you pick your name?

I was Andi at twelve until I was maybe 18 and became Danni. Still Danni.

3) why did you pick that name ?

I picked Andi because I thought the "i" at the end was cute, and I thought I was cute. :) Danni is a form of my name, and makes it easier legally.

4) Are you married, single ect?

Single

5) Does your wife/ girlfriend know?
6) When did you tell them?
7) How did that work out

Doesn't apply to me!

8) Is there anything you would have changed knowing what you know now?

Oh, god, yes. Too much to list. I wish I'd been more consistent earlier in my life as Andi when I was a teenager. Finding a girlfriend who supported me and kind of looked after me helped a lot from the time I was almost 15.

9) Do you have a certain style you are drawn to?

Cute and casual. Short skirts, jean shorts. White Keds. Mini sundresses...yoga pants and a sweatshirt works when it's cool. (I love denim!)

10)What is something that you would like us to know about you?

I've lurked but been nervous about posting because I don't feel like I can relate to the "average" crossdresser.

11) Favorite place to shop?

Romwe online lately.

12)Have you purged?

Once

13) If so did you regret it?

So much.

14) Any advice to new cders? Confidence.

Not really. Everyone is different. I could give confidential advice to girls I can relate to, but some crossdressing experiences are just totally alien to me.

15) Do you do your own makeup?

Hell yes!

16) What things do you strive for ( goals)?

At some point I need to make some permanent decisions about my life, whether I want to or not.

17) Anyone you would like to tell?

Sometimes I wonder how some of the first boys I interacted with as a teenager would react if they knew who they'd been hanging out with. My first kiss was at a bonfire party while dressed, and I feel kind of guilty about it when I think about it now. What would that guy say? I don't think I'd want him to know even now.

18) Any bad reactions when coming out?

A couple of bad reactions from being figured out.

19)The best time ( so far) you have had dressed?

The best times have been when I've been out with a couple of men I've seen off and on. Letting them define our relationship for people we'd meet at dive bars or clubs, feeling safe enough with them there to not worry about being grabbed or whatever.

20) Is there something you wished your loved ones understood about your dressing?

I'm only really in contact with a stepsister these days, and she treats me like a sister. I'm okay with that right now.
