I thoroughly agree, Heather, about the feel of nylon! By and large, I prefer skirts and dresses too. But it's interesting to reflect how the appeal of different feminine garments varies from one bodily sense to another.

I'm happy to "let rip" on this topic, just as you asked; but I trust you won't be bored by what I'm going to say in between, which is only semi-relevant to the delights you spoke of. I hope you'll think it worth commenting on anyway. Naturally I apologize for the length as well. I know I'm prone to prolixity.

For me, as for many no doubt, the primary source of erotic appeal is VISUAL: the look, shape, color and pattern of a garment as it appears on the female figure. Skirts, blouses, dresses--the "free flow" and "swing" in one place, the tight swell and roundness in another. Pants too can emphasize other aspects of the female form. Lingerie, bras and panties are especially erotic in this sense, for the obvious reason of their close intimacy with the most erogenous zones of the female body. Yet that's not to ignore the appeal of a boldly colored pattern on a dress or top, the bulge of breasts in a lacy blouse or slip--or anything else we can think of. Needless to add, wearing these clothes myself is exciting.

In this sphere, our members here have different preferences, and it's interesting to reflect how those of us born male and "straight" can be especially attracted to some parts of the female body more than others. As they say, there are "breast men," "ass men" (if I won't get censored for using that word here), and "leg men." And a few men are really into shoes and feet! On this score, I always thought I was a "breast man"--though I must say that to me, a pretty face and hair are important. I don't think I was ever guilty of what women complain that some men do: that's to say, "staring at their boobs" even while talking to them. While glancing in that direction occasionally, I certainly prefer to look at a woman's face (or anyone's face!) while talking with her.

Just the same, a long-ago girlfriend of mine--I'll call her "Dee"--once made a remark to me on this topic. She was a very perceptive woman, and she told me one or two things about myself that I'd never myself realized. "You're a 'hip man,'" she said to me once. Not a "breast man" so much, nor an "ass man," nor a "leg man"--all those things we hear so much about--but a "hip man"! (So hey, folks, I'm "hip"!) I notice women's hips--subconsciously no doubt. And "Dee" was right to spot this. I remember the first girl I fell passionately in love with, when I was only twelve. She had a pretty, freckled face and golden hair--nice breasts too--but I do remember the swing of her hips under her skirt. That was a prime part of her "whole package" that got to me.

The reason I posted all this was to say that in purely visual terms, the sensory appeal of femaleness for me personally is focused more on the upper body. The hair, the face, the breasts, the hips... Though I can't deny that old-fashioned garters and nylons over the thighs are just plain sexy! As I go lower, it fades out a little. So while a nice pair of legs is good to look at, it's not as intense for me as it would be for a truly dedicated "leg man."

Perhaps for this reason, in visual terms I don't have the same erotic focus on nylons and pantyhose, or tight pants and leggings, that some of our members do. Not compared with skirts, blouses, bras and panties, say.

But so much for that digression! When it comes to their appeal to our TACTILE sense, how it "feels" to actually wear female clothing, that's a whole different world altogether!

Of course, that deliciously smooth, "silky feel" is also true of panties, slips, and silk blouses. Then there's the "hug," weight, and bulge of a bra, reminding me that "now I'm female; I've got breasts to present proudly forward!" Not to mention that "free, flowing, open, vulnerable" feeling of a skirt or dress! And the way so much women's clothing just "feels different" from men's: tighter or closefitting in some places, looser in another. The way a sweater, say, "feels different" worn over a bra--breasts jutting out--but touching the bare skin of shoulders and flanks. Or a dress or top that covers other parts, but leaves the shoulders bare; or of straps over the shoulders. It all feels so deliciously different, so distinctively "feminine."

And what about the lower body: those nylons, pantyhose, and shoes? I remember the first time I drove in a skirt and nylons, and again it felt so "deliciously different."

Careful with those heels, of course! I wouldn't want them too high; we must never compromise safety. The clutch under the left foot especially calls for delicate control. (My wife and I both preferred to drive what we called "a proper car, with gears!") I drive just fine in bare feet, so I do wonder what would happen if really had to stomp on the brake in a five-inch heel? I don't think I want to find out, having witnessed a rear-end crash on the freeway just an hour or two ago!

But the rest of that feel, of a skirt over nylons, brushing against the legs--or even a skirt over bare legs, "moving" in a way that shorts or pants never do: such a beautifully tactile indulgence!

And the central point of my post: that while pantyhose, whatever the reason, are in some ways not as fetishistically "erotic" to me as bras and panties, say, in tactile terms they're exciting to wear. Just running a hand up and down the legs in nylons is a delectable sensation. Come to that, wearing pants over nylons or pantyhose also feels so "deliciously different" on the legs: so different from just wearing pants over bare (and hairy) legs as a male in drab.

And don't let me ignore the lower extremity of the body, either: the shoes! Yes, that feeling of being "jacked up" on heels is also "different" in that same, stimulating way. "Now I feel like a woman"--"heels" change our whole posture, reverberating up through the ankles, legs and thighs ("Your knee bone's connected to your... thigh bone," as the old song went) to alter the carriage of the pelvis, making it far sexier; indeed of the whole body. Dem "Dry Bones" ain't so dry after all!

It would really be interesting to hear from GGs on this topic of "sensuality"! Is there tactile delight on putting on, or wearing, certain articles of clothing? Women here have told us they're often keen to take a bra off at the end of the day; but their breasts of course stay with them, unlike ours as crossdressers. How about other articles of clothing? Do they feel "just ordinary" to women--"familiarity breeds contempt," after all--in the same way that the feel of male clothing is so familiar it's not worthy of remark to a man? (Unlike some, I can also enjoy "looking smart" in male clothes--but "looking" is "visual" again; the "feel" is nothing special.)

Harking back again to my long-ago girlfriend "Dee," I never forgot how she once casually said: "I feel so sexy in my slip"--a full-length slip. I felt the same--both about her and about myself wearing one too! How much do we, as crossdressers, actually share with women? If a woman is turned on by a man (the "right" man, needless to say, not some creep) running his hand up her leg and thigh, is that all the more erotically enhanced because of the exquisite way it feels through nylons?

In sensory terms, apart from the tactile and the visual, I assure you I have not missed the AUDITORY aspects either! The sound of a woman's voice: that's one beautiful thing. But also the "swish" you mentioned! I remember another woman I particularly admired; and the "swish, swish, swish" she made as she walked. The "swish" of skirts, or of thighs rubbing together? (And how about the "click-click" of heels?) Then there's the OLFACTORY, the heady aroma of Chanel Number Five... It all delights the senses anyway.

And some things are not actually "erotic" at all. They just "feel good" in a feminine way. A nice purse is one example. As a male, I can enjoy, say, the weight of a hammer in my hand, feeling its force, knowing I'm going to do a good job of building with it, of "putting things together"--or of taking them apart when necessary. That's all about "physical" power. Femininity to me is different. It's about "power" of a different kind. An attractive purse is not "sexually" exciting, but it's elegant, stylish, and feeling that "it's mine, it belongs to me" warmly affirms the "feminine side" of my nature.

My preference for hosiery is stockings and thigh highs. As mostly an in-home dresses I find pantyhose to not be practical. If I am going out for a drive or a stroll, then it is pantyhose for modesty shake. I'll wear the pantyhose over a light weight foundation panty. Either way, stocking/thigh highs or pantyhose, I love the feeling on my legs. I have never tried leggings. I do have tights which are fine for colder evening strolls.

I understand a woman perspective on pants/shorts vs dresses. For them it is more comfort and functionality. My wife will don a dress when the temperature rises during the summer. Then, it is still comfort. A dress offers less heat build up. A breeze will carry the heat away. We live in an area of the country where a hot day is 75 degrees. Nights are cool in the 50's. Either way my wife complains about shaving her legs and underarms, even if she is wearing pants and a top.

I am fortunate as I do not have hair follicles on my legs and underarms. Born that way. Minimal chest hair which started to grow when I was in my late 50's. I believe I inherited those genes from my dad who also was hairless. The only person who took notice was my daughter when she was in her 30's. She asked if I shaved my legs one day when sitting across from me. Nope! Always hairless, no follicles. My wife think my being hairless "is wasted on a man." She grumbles any times she shaves her legs. Sorry! :)

My wife bought me a pair of leggings years ago when they first became popular (the 90's) and when she was a little more tolerant. But they're long gone. Today they make them out of such wonderful fabrics I may have to try them again. They seem more like tights than the leggings I used to have.

Running my hands over my pantyhose clad shaved legs is a wonderful tactile experience, but so too is the visual delight. That smooth, hairless sensation and sight is intoxicating but not in a sexual or erotic sense; just endorphin releasing satisfactory delight.

For me, a lot of the enjoyment of wearing pantyhose is sensory. I like something with a bit firmness that reminds me that I'm wearing them, although barely noticeable is fine too. Although opaque "licorice legs" are my favorite look, I also love patterned and fashion tights as well. Another thing that may be just me is that feeling of cool autumn or winter air on my legs, providing sensory awareness that my legs are clad only in pantyhose.

I started out wearing my sisters school uniform which had all the basics of lingerie and a skirt, wig and makeup. When pantyhose started to become common and cheaper, I switched to pantyhose. They were not perfected yet so I still wore my nice girdle. I consider myself a minor expert with pantyhose having worn over a dozen brands and styles. I still like fishnet pantyhose/thigh highs, especially when I where them over a nice pair of pantyhose. Wearing fishnet alone, if pulled up tight, kind of hurts my legs after awhile. Doing so over freshly shaved legs was something I only discovered recently (other than when young and hairless). Extremely tactile and seems unfair that women get to experience it all the time, should they wish.

Personally I prefer the look of stockings and suspenders on my wife but then I suspect this comes down to knowing the intent as to why she's wearing it. She doesn't for long!

But the real pain is the upkeep. I may be particularly hairy but having to shave every few days, deal with ingrowing hairs and then with worry about comments in the summer just makes it all a bit too much. If I was a keen cyclist of swimmer I might be able to get away with it but my physique does not scream "fitness fanatic".

Does anyone have any hints how to make shaving legs easier?
Or how to make it last longer without resorting to waxing? I'm a real wimp when it comes to pain!

Lower legs are fine - it's my thights which tend to take the brunt of the razor.

Get a leg waxing to start with a clean canvas, your legs.

Epilate your legs every few days. I do lower legs one day and upper legs another. After 3+ years I'm doing each about once per week.

I usually have a full body waxing but the beauty salon is closed due to coronavirus so I have carefully shaved. Looks fine so far and yes I got the same smooth leg sensation when putting on my hold ups. I hope the hair doesn?t grow back with more stubble than when I have been waxed. I?m hoping the salon will reopen soon and will time my visit so the hair has regrown enough for me to be waxed.The sensation of a smooth body is all part of feeling feminine along with breast forms that jiggle and the whole experience of looking like a woman.

Someone mentioned in another thread about a system I use - Shaving with hair conditioner. It leaves your skin so soft and smooth. It's so hard to get to sleep at night when your legs are so snooth under crisp sheets. :)

And I've worn black, opaque tights under slacks before with dress shoes and no socks..... I've seen men's dress socks to look almost exactly like black tights, so yeah, that's really not noticeable and no one will know the difference, really.

i decided sometime last year to shave my legs a side from all the hard work to do it the first time i actually loved the feeling. some nights i would lay in bed wearing pantyhose just rubbing my legs together and OMG did it fell amazing. there were also nights when i didn't wear pantyhose and it still felt amazing just rubbing my legs together. i definitely need to do it again soon

I've been using conditioner to shave with for many years.... face, armpits and legs.. works wonderfully and cheap! Suave Coconut Conditioner.
