Here's a link to an article in The Advocate about gender-queer women who are taking testosterone to alter their bodies (and identities), but who don't necessarily want to transition into men.

I was going to post this in the FtM forum, but then I thought others in the TG section may be interested in reading it, so here it is. Hope that's okay. :)

Extremely Interesting. I think it describes more than a few people here.

Thanks Capt.

Nice find. That certainly gives me some things to think about. Thanks.

That's great. Very interesting. I hope in the future we can leave all "boxed" definitions of gender behind and be able to live more in the grey zones.

One point from the article that bears repeating: one can't selectively choose which effects hormones are going to have on your body. So developing that deeper voice may also mean male-pattern baldness, or developing breasts may also mean losing your libido. Or why it's extremely foolish to mess around with hormones on your own.

And let's not even talk about the dangers of injecting silicone, cooking oil, etc. (http://www.montereycountyweekly.com/issues/Issue.03-30-2006/cover/Article.cover_story/print)
