When I was little my mother thought I had a good singing voice. She encouraged me to listen to To the Doris Day song "Que Sera Sera" that was popular at the time, and to sing along with it. I had learned the whole thing before I realized it was a "woman's" song.

Lately I've been listening to you tube performance of Alberta Hunter singing "My Man (is such a Handy Man)" pretty unlikely you would hear a man sing that, unless it was at a Drag show.

My favorite also. When I sit down at a piano, with no particular tune in mind, I often just start playing "I Feel Pretty". It's a simple tune, and easy to play as a warm-up and it makes me smile. I've done it since I was a teenager. No one else knows that I'm wishing it were true as the words go through my mind.

The same here. I remember a makeover day where I tried to further immerse in the feeling by listening to a radio station programmed for contemporary women or something like that. I could not take it for more than 5 minutes. Switched the dial back to NPR.

This is more along the lines with my thoughts although it's just one playlist that I enjoy listening to in male or female mode. These tunes always connect with some "female component" of who I believe am...given the complexity of our personalities it seems no surprise to have multiple songs in mind.
