Which is worse: a run in a nylon or poking a hole in the toe of cotton girl socks?

I think I expect runs in nylons and when it happens just figure that's the nature of the beast. But when my big toe pokes a hole through the girl's cotton socks. Oh no cotton socks no supposed to last forever. Besides the socks might be trying to hide the red polish on my toe nails.

I think runs in nylons are part of a conspiracy, big business just getting us to buy more. Seriously I expect the runs in the hose but I too hate it when the big painted toe sticks out.

Embarassment or no, at least the socks can be darned. There's no feasible "repair" for a run in your stockings.
