Hi girls,

I've been crossdressing mostly in secret for a few years and have heard a lot about crossdressers taking birth control pills to femminise themselves as an alternative to hormone treatment. I am thinking of trying them out. I have done a lot of research online but I cannot find much on the actual effects it would have on the genetic male body.
Has anyone here taken birth control pills? what kind? and what kind of effect does is have on you?
I would be greatful for an answer to these qustions.

Thanks ladies

Jenny

Do not take drugs without the knowledge and consent of your physican. There are serious side effects with these medications.

I really don't know to be honest....but it sounds like a really bad idea.
First of all you don't have a female anatomy so it's not going to do you any good and second have you seen the side effects listed for them?
Not worth it in my opinion.

I'm terribly sorry to bud in, but I've had some experience with Birth Control that may be of some use.
The birth control pill isn't even a good idea for women to take as hormone therapy, (say they have had surgery to remove their ovaries, or are menopausal). The dosage of estrogen and progesterone in BCP's are made to moderate the hormones produced by the ovaries, and this dosage happens to be fairly high and regulated to the "average" female hormone level.

Besides it gave my friend some really nasty hives, and intense depression. It's too risky.

Sorry - but its MADNESS to experiment with drugs - dont do it.
I realise your urge to feminise must be great, but not at the expense of your health .. and dont want to be dramatic, but your life expectancy too.
It really is that serious.

And to top off all the bad effects, they do absolutely nothing to your body (unless you take nearly toxic quantities of it) because you're still producing testosterone.

I know of a couple of instances where the CDer has had chest pains as a result of using BC pills.

Some have taking them with no side affects.

YMMV

But, note that the level of fem. hormones is too little to have any feminizing affect on you.

Oh, please! And you call yourself an educated person? Look, it's never a good idea to pop pills that you don't need. If you want to feminize your body, go see a shrink and an MD.

Have to point out here, they are not an alternative to hormones, they ARE hormones. I am prescribed a BC pill, so yes, some types do feminise and are used by the profession for that purpose. It's either BC or female HRT, there's nothing made for TG purposes.
But lets be clear, I am checked by a doctor because they affect my health. That's right, they stress my body. Not as safe as smarties. Clear?
If you took them unsupervised you could be fine, or you could just die. Russian roulette isn't really fun to play is it? See a specialist ok?

Take care :)

Orthonovum, one of the leading birth control pills is also routinely prescribed for severe acne. So, if you took it, you would reduce your chances of getting zits before a big date. Me thinks you would also reduce your chances of getting pregnant:cheeky:

Not a great idea on taking BC, but long time ago on Oprah, this black crossdresser came out and told Oprah that she was taking BC for feminization. Although taking any kind of Pill w/o a prescription is a bad idea, but just telling what I heard. The show was about crossdressing males.. or somthing.

Blood clots are one of the side effects. That could certainly spoil your day.

Bad Ju~Ju! Very bad! If you're going to go this route, seek the guidance, experience, and education of a medical professional, and even then get regular check-ups. High blood preassue, liver damage, kidney trouble, increased risk of breast cancer, etc. BC isn't good for a lot of GG, why in the world would you want to self medicate without the over-sight of a medical professional to monitor the potential hazards? Even going the route with a medical professoinal is risky. Many TS are literally dying to "be girls/women"

Couldn't agree more Josi. I came off the pill because of a health scare. Alot of women who are on it would tell you of the side effects, its really not worth messing around with drugs.
Take care

A lot of birth control contains progestin which counteracts testosterone, and they also have estrogen which can feminize you. But taking any prescribed medication can have severe side evects that you may not realize, its always best to go to a doctor or at least order real individual hormones in smaller doses.

What Is It?
The birth control pill (also called "the Pill") is a daily pill that contains the hormones estrogen and progesterone that prevent pregnancy.

How Does It Work?
Most birth control pills are "combination pills" containing a combination of the hormones estrogen and progesterone to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg during the monthly cycle). A woman cannot get pregnant if she doesn't ovulate because there is no egg to be fertilized. The Pill also works by thickening the mucus around the cervix, which makes it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus and reach any eggs that may have been released. The hormones in the Pill can also sometimes affect the lining of the uterus, making it difficult for an egg to attach to the wall of the uterus.

Possible Side Effects
The birth control pill is a safe and effective method of birth control. Most young women who take the Pill have none to very few side effects. However, the side effects that some women do have while on the Pill include:

irregular menstrual bleeding
nausea, weight gain, headaches, dizziness, and breast tenderness
mood changes
blood clots (rare in women under 35 who do not smoke)

Now that all that's out of the way, just tell me what part of this will feminize you? It is for BIRTH CONTROL. It is made for WOMEN. I'm sorry, but this has got to be the most rediculious thing I've ever heard of.

Um, Tam, as I said, I'm prescibed a birth control pill, Ovysmen. It contains 500 micrograms of Norethisterone and 35 micrograms of Ethinylestradiol per tablet. I am prescribed 3 a day plus an anti-androgen. It is the estrogen that feminises me, and it is doing so well. How did you think us TSs did it? :)
Again, as I said though, it can harm your health, so see a specialist if you are thinking about it.

Take care :)

anything that is FDA approved is gonna have side effects if you take it few days or especially take it for years.i would consult a doctor if i were to want things to "change" .anything that needs a doctor's prescription is gonna have efffects,it's the FDA's way to keep it;s customers.take a pill have a side effect, take another pill for that sideeffect, then spend lots of money on them.i wouldn't try it !

You gotta be careful, I was on various forms of the Pill for years...I went off it cause it killed my sex drive, and now even after being off it for several months my sex drive has never been the same :(
