As I noted in a previous post I went to a job interview in women?s dress pants and an androgynous shirt. I had always been fearful of dressing in such attire sans makeup and wig. HoweverI truly felt comfortable during the interview. Yesterday I went out in my denim leggings, an obvious women?s top, and a pair of flats. I felt comfortable and at ease. I do think going to the interview was a big step. I?m sure I got the usual stares but I expect that. The increased comfort level feels wonderful. As an aside I don?t know if I got the job. There was a large group of people interviewing.

That?s great! Sounds like a great confidence builder. People stare at me all the time I just learned to ignore them

Such a challenging time to find an employer who isn't demanding new hires jump through hoops.
Just deciding to get out there an work, when others find unemployment more profitable.
Nice to see yourself and others in our community, stepping up to fill roles available when employers are in urgent need of workers.
Whether they embrace our community or not, it's too early to call but your prospect in finding a job, that isn't bias, is looking up.
I applaud your efforts and wish you all the best in your endeavor!

Just yesterday there was a report done on NPR that talked about Trans women and the economic state that most are in. They said 45% earn under the poverty line. Also they said that Trans women are getting AIDS. I hope people are OK. That story made me sad. I am not Trans but I feel for them and I want to reach out and speak with them when I see them working as sales clerks and places like that.

I really hope you get the job, If you need it. And I hope you get the job so more people will see us in a better light.

Thank you. Natalie
